Moat don't realize how important the Red Cross is until they need it. Yes, it is there to comfort those in need after a hurricane or natural disaster, but did you know that helping people after a fire in their home is the Red Cross' biggest job? Working 24/7, they provide clothing, temporary shelter, meals, counseling, and monetary help for people like you and me - when we least expect it. In addition to that, there is the ongoing effort to educate people in health and safety, first aid, CPR, swimming and HIV/AIDS. And that is just what they do for Miami/Dade and Monroe Counties. The national and international activities are simply amazing. There is always a need for volunteers and contributions. Stop all the talk about giving back to the community and take action. Call the Red Cross now and give some of your time or money.

I went through training and courses and was able to start right aways. They find the perfect spot just for you! Red Cross does so many things it is increadible. From providing food/shelter/clothes/fire canvassing events and more. People here are ready to help 24/7 and most of them are just volunteers to! The organisations is lead by great people with a great vision! This particular office is open Monday -friday from 9-5. You can always come in or call! There is always someone at the front desk. Also you can get there by car or by bus very easily. The 27 stop right infron of the Red Cross! Because the Red Croos is volunteerbased and doesnt have that much funding any donations are welcome.

I used to be terrified of needles and blood. I started donating in college (I still make them cover my arm with a paper towel so I don't see the red stuff coming out) (a) to get over my fear, (b) because I have a rare blood type and (c) to continue my dad's donation legacy. 60% of the population is able to donate blood but only 5% actually do. Most of them are girls, from my personal experience. I know so many guys that will brag about the bones they've broken or how much they can bench, but are still afraid of a little needle. Man up! Lol. It usually takes 30-45 minutes for me to complete the whole process. Not only will you get some good karma and self-satisfaction, but you'll get a free movie ticket and drinks and snacks that you may or may not want to shove in your purse and bring in to enjoy during the movie you'll see with said ticket. I also got a ticket for two to the improv last time (drink minimum required). The Blood Bus is usually parked on Alton Road b/w 16th & Lincoln Road, Thursday-Sunday evenings. So next time you're in the area, give The Blood Bus, and people in need of blood, a little help!

I really appreciated the flexibility and willingness to accommodate me. The office was clean, organized, and ran efficiently despite being busy. The staff was professional, courteous, and kept things moving smoothly, which seems to be a consistent theme you see in many of the reviews here. I especially want to give a shout-out to Heber. He was incredibly nice, efficient, and made the blood draw quick and painless -- honestly one of the easiest lab experiences I've had. He explained everything clearly, was calm and friendly, and you can tell he knows exactly what he's doing. Overall, a smooth, professional experience from start to finish. Five stars -- highly recommend.

They constantly overbook, causing patients, many of them quote ill, into long waits past their appointment times. This has not happened once, but many times. It's a pattern of born of greed resulting in a complete lack of respect for the people forced to submit to this laboratory company for medical testing. Most recently, I made a 9:30 appointment for a blood draw. I arrived at 9:10 and walking into an overflowing waiting room. I was the first patient listed for the 9:30 block time. At 9:30 there were still 14 patients ahead of me. From experience I know that is at least a 1 hour wait. I had to walk out, untested, because I had other appointments scheduled based upon the 9:30 appointment time. This shows a complete lack of respect for my time and for me as a person. In short, Quest sucks!
