To whom it may concern, I would describe my experience at…read morethe MIRAMAR center as SCARY. This is the same word that two employees used to insult me while I sat in one of the screening rooms waiting. Turns out, I'm not that person who will just sit there and accept to being assisted by someone with ZERO etiquette who is having a bad day. Yes, I was insulted after politely requesting to be assisted by someone else, given her attitude. Management, I understand that the company does all they can do to save a penny here and there, and to make a center profitable, but at what cost? CSL Miramar should educate staff to understand that Volunteers are essential for the center and if any staff member is having a bad day, communicate to superiors and have someone else fill in for them. Or, in the best case scenario, if they are blessed not to need a job, possibly renounce and leave the position for someone else more qualified. Also, I kindly suggest that staff in the center who are on duty, should carry some visible identification on them when entering the rooms to assist any volunteers. Wishing you continued success, I look forward to improvement.

I have donated at every plasma place local to me and OctaPharma is by far the best place to…read moreregular!!! This is the only place I will come to donate ever since my very 1st donation with them. First and foremost, the place is always spotless! The employees do a good job at keeping the place clean and sanitary. The bathrooms are always immaculate-I've never had a bad experience with the ladies room. Nothing worse then a filthy bathroom in a medical facility so that's a big one for me. Additionally, I love that they go above and beyond to decorate for holidays and season changes, especially in Florida where season change is often overlooked. It makes the place so welcoming! Next: the machines: they are all very well kept, clean and well maintained. I've seen some questionable machines in my donating days. Never have to worry here. Lastly and most importantly.... The staff!!! Every single staff member that works screening and the floor are just incredible. I imagine the staff that works behind the scenes are just as good though because the team work I've witnessed on the floor shows strength in working together and appears to be natural for everyone. Everyone makes you feel so comfortable and they make the time pass by so fast, making you laugh and just being entertaining overall. They get to know you on a first name basis and remember you when you come back. It's funny because some of them say they got the job because they liked the place so much... and I can see why. Coming here after work is my time to kick back and have a fun but relaxing time. I can't name all of the staff by name but I'd like to point out a couple of the staff that have been here for a bit and have personally been my donor assistant. Tyrone, he's so charismatic and funny. He's got this charming smile that can brighten anyones day. Alrick has a confidence and knowledge that will instill confidence in anyone who is new and nervous. You can immediately tell he is one of those "top of the class" type of students and the go to for those with less experience. Barbara: she has the sweetest heart! You can tell she is passionate about what she does and sincerely wants to make each donor comfortable, she expressed to me that she doesn't want anyone to feel any type discomfort because it hurts her feelings. Aneesah, she is such a bright young lady. She has the sweetest heart and is so friendly and always remembers everything you talk about. Dominique, the nurse that takes all the new donors: she is so genuine. Literally she reminds me of myself a little bit. She is friendly, honest, caring and very informative. I've heard so many wonderful things about her from the other staff as well, that she always jumps in anytime she can to help and makes her way by to check up on everyone any chance she gets. Jessica- she just does her thing. She's always laser focused and on top of everything. She's friendly and makes good conversation as well. I cannot forget to mention Leon! Leon is my buddy! He is in Paramedic school and was a fire fighter (which I was too) so we have a lot in common - we are ALWAYS catching up when I catch him in the screening booth or on the floor. That guy has a lot of ambition and is so motivated! He is also very funny and I look forward to seeing him every time I go! When he's working during my donation it's like the cherry on top. Want a good laugh? Go in and ask for the tall, dark and handsome guy named Leon!!!! There are so many other great employees that I unfortunately don't know their names- but they are all super amazing and if you want to save lives and have a relaxing hour to just chill out with some cool people- this is your spot!!! Good Job Staff! One more time I HAVE to mention how FAST this staff gets you in and out of here because I know you guys see the lines at these other places!

I had a very nice technician Belinda who was very concerned about my comfort throughout the entire process. For those of you who've never given blood; the process is not that bad. These technicians really knowledgeable and skillful. So please thoughtfully consider giving blood. Update: After testing positive for COVID-19 antibodies, I went back and donated my plasma. I had no symptoms guys so please keep wearing your mask. Everyone at OneBlood was so nice throughout the entire procedure. Yes, it's long but it's for a great cause.

Yup, that's the old bloodletting routine that leaches and barbers once performed. It's the procedure in which red blood cells are removed from the body in a manner similar to donating blood. When red blood cells are taken out of the body, it lowers hemoglobin levels. So, the ultimate results are the same as with the barbers and leaches, but we now have some really skilled phlebotomists which is what lead me to OneBlood. OneBlood is not only used for phlebotomy but also for taking blood donations. It's really super clean, everything is so very orderly and the staff is not only super knowledgeable about what they are doing but friendly as well. I was really uptight about all this, but they put me at ease. First they gave me a simple blood test by pricking my finger in order to assure that the phlebotomy was necessary. In my case it was, but I shouldn't have been in fear. I assumed a comfortable seat on a couch like table where my arm was prepared for the bloodletting. To my astonishment I never felt the needle go into my arm and when the procedure was done, I had absolutely no bruises whatsoever. That to me was real testament as to how professional the people at OneBlood are as every time I normally have blood drawn, I end up with a horrid bruising along with a number of failed stab wounds.
