Garbagemen stole my xbox one and charged $400 of games!!!! We had a pipe burst in our home and alot of furniture and electronics were damaged. My xbox one was damaged to the point water was leaking out of it so I thought it was no good and I decided to throw it away. I put it on the curb with my couch, ottoman, TV stand, and a few other items. They usually come around 8:30 in my area so I sat it all out the same morning at 7:50ish. Everything was taken as expected. Not to mention I was charged $200 extra for the large items. A week later I see in my bank account someone ordered $400 worth of video games on the xbox one I had just thrown out. Whoever took it mustve fixed it and accessed my account that was saved on the system. I call American and they deny it all saying I couldnt prove that it was one of their guys. The Supervisor I spoke to even said "maybe it was a neighborhood kid". What kids are up walking the streets digging in trash at 7 am in the summer in Suburbia Georgia. Over several months they missed six garbage pickups. I contacted them each time via phone or email re the missed pickups. I was subsequently told I was being sent for collections for not paying for the days they didn't pick up the garbage. Several times the phone reps said they would talk to billing re my account but the collection notices continued until I copied them on a letter to Cobb County regarding their service. They then apologized and gave me a a credit. Two weeks ago they took 2/3 of the garbage and left the rest in my yard. For over a year they have been saying I am a month in arrears despite their agreeing that payments for over a year were paid on time. They decided to suspend my service when the problem is their accounting department is wrong. I stayed with them as I wasn't aware of alternatives, but have since learned of other options. I have American Disposal Trash Service out of Acworth Georgia. Several times the trash truck keeps dropping my trash can in the truck with the arm pickup truck. Today is 1/4/2023 and I am being told that I cannot get another Trash Can until 1/11/2023. What am I suppose to do with my trash and then they say I cannot get any type of credit for this. I have tried to stay with this company however now I think I will be looking for another Trash Pickup Company. They do not care about their customers. If this was in their neighborhood, I am sure they would not like to see trash all over the neighborhood where the dogs and cats have torn into the Trash. I recently started garbage service with American Disposal and though I would not recommend the recycle part of their services I will definitely recommend the trash service part because the guys make sure that all of the trash is picked up and thrown away when they leave. They are prompt and cautious when driving through the kid friendly neighborhood. read more

This company is awful. Been with them 3 years, and nothing has gotten better. I was sold off to American Disposal without my knowledge when Waste Management left our area. I imagine thats the only way they can get customers. I've had them take my cans for no reason and argue with me to give them back. Almost every week they leave my cans laying on the ground. I've requested a new can because they broke my existing can and they will not honor my request, but they leave the top of my broken can on the ground every week. I've been fed up with these people. Today's antics of only emptying one of my two cans and leaving the empty can laying in my driveway is it. I'm leaving them, and I suggest avoiding doing business with this company at all costs. If I could give 0 stars I would. The service is terrible. Customer service rep Stephanie is a liar and very unprofessional. I called this morning, took 20 mins to get an answer. In addition to the terrible service American disposal promised every week recycling pick up for customers. Stephanie says it was a glitch and a rep didn't tell me that. Guess I'm hallucinating and making up lies. If that's the case why does every house in my neighborhood have their recycling bins on the street??? Terrible service is the norm for this company. Call in about a missed pickup - how hard is it to stop and pick up the trash as you go by? - and if you get through they give you a line of bs. Rescheduled for Wed but no pickup. Still out there on Friday. Can't use the website either - they disable the sections where you report a missed pickup or you want their contact info. ZERO STARS! I'm so upset with y'all. I have never complained about y'all as a company because I've never had a reason, despite y'all's reputation. However, last Thursday, during my pick up, YOUR TRASH GUYS broke my trash can, and just left it there. No one came to my door to inform me. I called immediately when I saw it, and was told I'd have a new one sent out today. Well, it's almost 5pm and no one has come by, so I called and apparently I'll be getting a new one tomorrow, due to the holiday. Completely ridiculous. Fails to pick up about 50% of the time. How this company remains in business is a disappointment; as they don't deserve to be, based on my experience in Herndon VA. I would recommend that HOAs trying to decide what company to select, make sure it's not American Disposal Services. The front office personnel are very good, and say all the right things, but the operational folks servicing the Herndon Virginia area are the opposite. My $100 trash bin was thrown away. I called American Disposal to discuss the issue and was basically toward it's not their problem. However, before I ever purchased the a new trash bin, I called American Disposal and tried to order an additional bin. American Disposal told me it was cheaper if I go purchase an additional bin from Home Depot. I mentioned this to the AD representative and she wanted to know the person's name. My concerns were ignored and then the call disconnected. I made the call on a landline. It was not a cell service issue. Terrible service! I had a bad experience where they kept charging my account for service they weren't providing and there was no customer service to contact: they don't answer phone or reply to emails. We put our cans out last week ( the 13th) and one had garbage in it, the other one had broken down boxes that come with medical supplies in it. They took only the garbage and left the other can full. Boxes are only set out about every other week. Which leaves us with two garbage cans most of the time. But because they didn't take it we were left with only one. So this week ( 20th) we forgot the garbage and it normally wouldn't be a big deal except that we only had one can for this week. I called Wednesday ( the 20th) and explained all this and they promised to pick both cans up today, but it is now 6:51pm and both full cans are still at the curb. Frequent missed pickups. Reduced recycling service, impossible to cancel. I wrote 4 times to cancel my account and they kept bumping up the late fees despite my requests. With ADS you play more for less service. The one thing they are genuinely good at? bill collecting, and hounding you until you pay, even though you don't owe. We started a contract with American Disposal after moving the east Cobb last June. There have been multiple times with late trash pickups and even more for late or skipped recycling pickups. We tried to contact the company via email several times with no response. We were willing to consider issues due to the pandemic if they could offer a reasonable plan for the future but did not hear anything. After the second time in a row that they totally skipped recycling pickups we decided to go with another company that our neighbors were happy with. Very bad customer service. They missed pickup my regular trash last August. Called the and tell me they will credit $7. Now it's almost October and I never received the credit. I called today asking for it and told them they missed my recycling bin last week and tell me they can't credit it to me because it's repeat missing pickup so they won't credit the recycling one. One is August and One is September and the funny thing is not my fault. This company is a joke. The customer service that answered my call is keep yawning while talking to me. Wow, just wow. They haven't collected regularly in the last month. 2weeks ago I had to call to get them to collect. Last week and this week they sent out emails discussing national truck driver shortages. This week the email said there were circumstances beyond their control. This seems like a matter of supply and demand. Pay the drivers more and get the drivers you need. Look, I solved your problem. I called this morning. Discussed my issue and was offered a month credit. As we further discussed this, the representative basically said it was my fault they didn't come and pick it up because I didn't call them. WTF?!?!? After going up on cost for service. Never picks up trash on schedule pick up day. Most two or three days late picking up. Sometimes don't get picked up. Never inform customer that service is behind a day or two. Customer service phone line just rings. Don't return call after a message in left on voicemail. Took them a entire month to come pick up their trash bids after I canceled the service. It took multiple phone calls and rescheduled dates to get the bids picked up. Your neighborhood looks like trash trash service is everyday while trash cans sits on the curb. Not knowing if or when American Disposal will pick up. I'd give zero stars if possible. Seems like every week they miss our recycling or trash. I actually had to go out today and stay by our missed trash can and waved them down when they came back by. The guy said it was heavy. I asked if he needed help loading it and he said no, as he proceeded to roll it over to the back of the truck and use the machine to dump it. Why complain about it being heavy if you don't have to lift it? Pure laziness. We have already cancelled service this month and going to West Cobb Sanitation. Have had 4 missed recycling pickups and they never so much as apologized. Said they would reschedule for pickup ASAP, never did. Missed the entire trash pickup last week (including lawn bags) when they picked up this week they dumped out some of the lawn clippings. I will simply post the email I sent on 9/14 - still, like every attempt to contact, unanswered....: I have placed over 25 calls, sometimes holding for over 20 minutes only to be disconnected, sometimes leaving (3 times) voice mail that is never responded to, sometimes with an outgoing message indicating they are busy - try again later - then cut off, sometime getting the message of being closed -DURING BUSINESS HOURS! I have also sent text and email pleas for help. I appreciate challenges due to covid, but zero customer support is unacceptable. Between my 2 properties on your routes, about 6 pick-ups have been missed, countless others delayed by a day or two. Then my auto-pay stopped working on seemingly one property and I have received an invoice with late or finance charges on it! The 25 calls have been placed only since receiving this invoice about a week ago. Many other calls were placed in the past weeks due to missed pick-ups. I need credits and adjustments for all the missed pick-ups and will gladly settle up any remaining bill. I will likely not reimplement auto-pay as I will move from your company ASAP if none of this gets addressed appropriately. I am done, this company is awful, I think the ladies who answer the phone are trained to lie. My pick up day is Tuesday, today is Saturday Memorial day weekend they are not open Monday and my trash is still sitting out front. American Disposal advised me to leave it out because they will " pick up my trash any day now". This place is absolutely terrible. I really made a mistake choosing this company. one of the drivers ran in to my sons basketball hoop not once but twice the second time, he took the net right off. my husband has been calling, he has been told by one of the representatives that they will replace the net and it's been two weeks and no new net. Either one of your drivers really doesn't know how to drive well or he did that on purpose. I wish I could give a negative rating as a 1 star is too generous. ADS of Mableton provides very poor service. It is a roll of the dice as to whether they will show up to pick up your garbage. They only pick up recycling every other week and often miss that commitment as well. We have cancelled our service and now can't get them to pick up their cans. If I could give them a zero, I would!!! I have used them for years and have always used my personal trash container in addition to theirs. Never was it ever communicated to me that if I use my personal container, they are not liable if anything happens to it. Yesterday, my container was thrown into the hopper "by accident" and now they are telling me "Oh well!" Worst cusomer service ever! I live in Brookstone III and their trucks had leaked oil in front of our home and throught out the neighborhood for months. Called to complain about how bad our streets were looking and they just gave me the run around for months. Finally someone from management called said they were going to clean up the roads nothing yet. Now their trucks with the arms have cracked both my garbage cans. I have been dealing with missed pick ups for several years, but I used to be able to call and speak to someone to make it right. Now, the best you can do is send them a message from their website, but I have only received one reply from that. We recycle about twice as much as we discard, so if it is missed 1 week, it creates a problem. Their excuse since 2020 has been COVID and lack of help. If that is the case, then credit our account when it is missed, as we pay for this service. If I could find another company that I could trust to handle trash and recycling, I would switch in a minute. Just lost us as customers, when they no-showed on recycling for two weeks, then sent an e-mail that it would be another two weeks until they got around to picking it up. I would rate 0-stars if I could. I moved into a new house in the beginning of March 2022, and the HOA has an agreement with American. I have been trying to get trash cans delivered for a month now...Each week I call trying to find out why my cans still haven't been delivered. I keep being told they will be delivered tomorrow, only for them to never arrive. I have called multiple times, with no resolution to the issue. They are very unprofessional and missing something vital called Customer Service, which is the foundation for any company.
