Another in a long line of terrible reviews. After 6 weeks of a different screw up every week and SEVENTEEN total calls over these weeks for sometimes 30-45 min at a time, NOT counting the ridiculous wait times, I will have to say I certainly do not recommend Advance Disposal for your trash/recycling needs. Here are just a few examples of their multiple failures: 1. Did not deliver trash bin as scheduled and confirmed. 2. Days later, delivered trash bin, followed by a second delivery at a later date. Now I have 2 and they haven't picked up the extra for WEEKS now, despite my requests. 3. Did not pick up recycling on multiple occasions. In fact, has not ONCE picked up on the regularly scheduled date. 4. Cancelled one week's pickup for no reason and gave no notification whatsoever. Offered nothing but an apology and an offer to pick up within 48 hours, which did not happen! 5. They have not returned ANY of my calls. Not ONE! 6. Failure to pick up the trash/recycling on the "make up day" when the route was missed just the previous day. 7. Told me that yesterday I was on a "special route" of some sort that was going to be monitored by a "supervisor" to make sure it was done that day. My recycle bin still sits at the end of my driveway, full, despite 4 phone calls yesterday alone. The ONLY reason I have tolerated their incompetence and total lack of professionalism from their management team as well as their dispatch crew is that the poor team on the front lines of customer service have been exceptionally nice. They are clearly not able to do anything to actually help, and I get it, but I actually spoke to one of them about the abuse they endure every single day because of the terrible way American Disposal treats their customers. She was most appreciative of my empathy for her but said that she is "numb to it at this point". I wish that poor lady all the best and hope that she finds employment at another company that gives a rip! read more

I'm done with this company. This is the second time I have video taped you being lazy and attempting to pick up a yard waste bag with the automatic arm, only to have it (shockingly) rip apart. Then someone gets out of the passenger side, which unless the steering wheel is on that side, means someone else was in that cab, and BARELY attempt to pick it up, using one hand, thereby ripping it even more. Then you just leave it! So there it lays, on my front yard, awaiting the downpour that is about to come. Time to take my business elsewhere. This is by far the worst service I've ever had. They also are supposed handle our community common area trash, which..as usual is overflowing on the grass areas, as I wrote this! Service is terrible. Missed trash pickups for 2 weeks straight. Customer service call waiting was # 41 which took over 30 minutes to respond. Their response to my complaints was that a service ticket was written and that a supervisor would get involved if a pick up is not made in 24 hrs. Keeping drivers is their big issue. New drivers don't know the neighborhood and miss trash bins until complaints roll in, then they're taught the run. All's fine until the driver issue cycles again. We've used American for a number of years and service was pretty descent, but have always found the billing department rarely has a clue. The last month, they either skip picking up our trash or recycling. When you call, you're put on hold, told wait times are as long as an hour (can't imagine why!)... Called today after trash wasn't picked up and got the excuse of a driver shortage and told they've been trying to hire at job fairs. If they can't keep employees, their management style must be pure TRASH. Reminds me of an old saying "Don't tell me about the labor pains, just show me the baby." I was told to put my trash out for pick up on Tuesday and it's been sitting there on my curb. A complete eyesore and we just moved in. I am now told that no one will pick up until Friday! WTF?! I gave one star because I had to, but American Disposal needs a zero. Not to metion, on the BBB website they have an F. Since the new year, 2019, they have missed my pickup, 5 times, but every one else's bins get emptied on a street of over 20 house's. I have called every time and even let my info for a manager or supervisor to call me. A return call has yet to happen, I've heard from no one. American Disposal Service of Georgia - worst customer service. Took my personal 65G trash can after I cancelled my service and have not returned it. Also, they haven't returned the credit on my account even though I'm owed a full month's refund. Customer service has neglected to call me back on 2 occasions, has not responded to 2 emails, told me that they are still looking into my missing garbage can two weeks after the first phone call, and also told me that they don't really return balances on accounts after service is cancelled. Cancelled service because half the time they don't even pickup on the days they are scheduled to do so. Also, they are more expensive then then some of the other providers here in Marietta. Just terrible customer service. Recycling especially just picks up when they feel like it it seems. Last straw was this week when American pulled 2 bags of trash out of the can and left them right by the street! (The can was only 1/2 full). I wish I could give them a zero or negative rating. American Disposal has failed to pick up my trash and recycle for a little over 30 days now. I have called to complain several times which has resulted in nearly 4 hours of hold time before speaking w/ someone. Not only that but once someone finally answers, they make assurances that the trash will be picked up on the next collection date. Somehow you magically get disconnected before you are able to communicate clear expectations. Responses, hold times, disconnect rates and overall customer service are HORRIBLE. My neighbors cans sit 4 feet from mine and are picked up every week while mine are left to sit overflowing! They certainly don't have an issue collecting money form our account on time for the (non) trash service. Picking up fees is their specialty not picking up trash or recycle. Stay away from these guys unless you like to be pissed at paying for a service that you won't receive consistently. Take it from me. Lear from my pain.......DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! We are stuck with this company unfortunately. Their service is sketchy at best. Some weeks they remember, some they don't and when they don't, they conveniently blame everything and everyone else for their plain, old fashioned lack of ability. They were picking up 2x/week, didn't do that constantly, then reduced it to 1x/week and can't get that right either. Paid for my service 3 weeks ago. Still haven't received my bins. ~~~ To get the service started I called every day for 2 weeks. Of the 3 times I got someone to answer we were disconnected twice on their end, they never called back. A positive is the employees are kind- so long as you actually get connected to someone. Now 3 weeks post payment, no bins have arrived & I have been unable to get anyone on the phone again. The only reason this company was chosen is because many of the neighbors already use them. If only I could choose zero stars. This company is a nightmare. They never provided us with a bin when we started services with them, yet took the bin that we had provided ourselves when we cancelled services. So they never delivered a product we paid for, then they effectively stole our personal bin. Double whammy. Also, they will not provide any support over the phone. I called multiple times and was told by the automated service that I should try again later, then I was hung up on. When I did finally reach a human being, they simply transferred me to the automated line that hung up on me. When I tried to get the person back on the line, they turned their phone to Do Not Disturb well within business hours. I know this is a trash company and therefor I should not have high expectations, but it almost seems as though their job is to avoid interacting with customers in any capacity. Which is very frustrating. Overall, the service they provide is very poor. This company raises prices and tacks on fees consistently until you cannot afford to pay them. Then, they miss pickups and when you call and if lucky actually talk to someone, they act clueless and tell you they will contact dispatch and email you when they have a pickup scheduled. (hasn't happened yet) I have considered changing companies, but the others in my area have just as bad of reviews! Most of the time, they are reliable, but they have recently made some scheduling changes and our whole road was skipped this week. Now my bill has dropped and they are charging me for a non return on the trash cans plus 4 bucks a month on each. I have set up more then 3 appointment s to have them picked up with no response. Thankfully, I haven't had any issues with the regular trash pickup. Unfortunately, I have had an ongoing problem with the recycling crew as there are more missed pickups than I care to count, but the worst problem is the harassment I continue to get from the driver. I called their customer service number, but I cannot even leave a VM as the call gets dropped as soon as the message is over. I can only imagine it is due to a full VM, but honestly I cannot believe I have to continue to deal with this. Find another company to use for trash pick up!!! We were using another company that got bought out by AM Disposal and it has been an awful experience. They have double charged us and have spoken to 3 different individuals at the company and emailed them all and have yet to hear back from them. They have terrible customer service, every time you call it is a hour wait to get through to someone that is no help. Now we are getting voicemails saying that our trash won't be picked up even thought they have yet to rectify the problem on their end. I would not suggest them to anyone. read more

We've had them for less than 4 months and they have missed trash or recycling pick up 5 times now and an additional time they sent out an email they were going to be 2 days late. We were told if they missed again, they would prorate us one free month. I ended up cancelling because they missed pick up again, never got the prorated month as I was told they were going to do, and lost money because they prorate the cancellation from the day you call and not the day they didn't do the job. Of course my pickup day is a Friday and they say give them till 7PM, well you can't call after that since they close at 6PM and don't open until Monday. Oh man, this effing place. Let's see, where to even start. I have been having a eight-week ordeal with them. It began when their pickup crew systematically started breaking our perfectly-fine trash bin, bit by bit. This went on for a few weeks-- first it was the handle, then they broke a hinge off the lid, and then finally they broke a freaking wheel off and took it with them. Great. So I leave it as-is, dealing with it. I figure it's annoying, but whatever, it's just a trash bin. One day, I come home, and the entire bin is gone. I think "okay, they must have taken it and are bringing a replacement." You know, like a logical person would assume, given the context. Nope! It's been four weeks since that happened, and when I can even get someone on the phone, the customer service department denies all responsibility, refuses to help with the situation, and generally tries to get you off the phone ASAP. Awesome. I have called, emailed, done everything a person can reasonably expect. Ugh. Four weeks of trash building up, making calls that go nowhere, and altogether getting screwed over. Nice. Then last week, I get a response email from a rep that tells me I'm going to have to pay $100 for a new bin? The reason being that the crew denies they even took it. Yup. OF COURSE. Even though I saw them do it myself, and there was no denial of that fact previously. Screw this company, I'm done. Cancelling and charging back the entire last pay period with my bank, because I think I've quite honestly gone above and beyond to fix things and they are just...incompetent. It's really the only word. So I escalate to a supervisor, thinking that it will help as a last-ditch effort. She makes promises, tells me I'll get a new bin in two weeks, and in the meantime to (once again!) leave my trash on the curb in bags on my pickup day. At this point, I have 7 bags and look like the neighborhood a-hole. Great. I do what she suggests, finally feeling like the issue might be solved, but once again the delivery crew comes and skips my house. Watched them drive right by myself, yesterday, once again. I called that same day to cancel, was told I would get a refund. Great. Finally, this is over. Except then, today, when I email to confirm my account is cancelled, the rep tells me I still owe $100 for the missing bin. That the American Disposal crew took, and then lied about taking. The very same crew ignoring my trash on the street for the last month. These people make Comcast look exceptional, which is something I didn't even think was possible. The biggest freaking joke I have ever experienced. At this point I'm seriously considering an attorney, which I have never had to do before-- yup, it's been that bad. Run. I obtained there services because they also picked up recycling. Out of my 3 months of service they only picked up on the scheduled day maybe 2-3 times. I had to call them just about every time. Your lack of followup, Shantae and Nancy are liars, has created a legal position for you, you will soon regret. I have enlisted 14 communities in the 30062 area to file a class action lawsuit against American Disposal due to your across the board service failure. Our attorneys are preparing the case and will soon file in Cobb County courts. Until that time I ask for the 5th time to cancel my account after processing my 2 week credit and a $20 inconvenience fee promised by both Nancy and Shantae. I have every call recorded which is now in our attorneys hands along with many from other neighborhoods and HOA's. you will soon see a mass exodus from your company due to your service level. Update: was just told that I'll be going a full month without a bin and the only compensation on bill they'll give me is $5!!!!!!! What a joke. It's very obvious they don't get a crap about their customers. No wonder they have a terrible review on google and their own FB page. This company is terrible. We've been without a bin for three weeks. Their line is always busy and the wait time is always magically 11 minutes. I've now been on hold for 33 minutes.
