If you need your documents shred it this place is for you. I took in two large garbage bags full of documents and cards and what have you not and they took them from me and they had a TV that you can watch your documents go up this conveyor belt into the shredder. It is so cool. The people there are so so nice so I suggest you try it instead of trying to shred it all yourself so have a good day. read more

This place is great! They were super nice on the phone when I called for prices, and said I could watch them shred my documents?! When I arrived they called a guy out to help me bring in my boxes, and he took them to the back. They pointed to a tv screen, and I watched my stuff go through the shredder. I attended the paper shredding and computer recycling event today, Saturday, April 27, 2019 at DeBug Computer in Carson City. They hired American Document Destruction, Inc., out of Sparks, to shred all the documents people brought from 10 AM to noon. They also recycled unwanted cell phones. For computers, ComputerCorps out of Carson City came with their truck and took people's unwanted computer electronics for refurbishment. Customers here first had to sign in, then get in line with their boxes of papers They were also each given a DeBug Computer refrigerator magnet. When I came at 9:25 AM, there were already four parties ahead of me. One woman before me had 11 boxes, all of which were her husband's. She had to climb in the truck bed to pull them all out and they were heavy. Her husband was not here to help. Some people after me just had a Walmart bag with documents. One woman was said to be bringing in 50 boxes today! People were also worried they would be blocked in, as the parking lot was small. Apparently, some people were stuck for two hours last year since they couldn't pull out. When they truck came at 9:50 AM, the employees wheeled out large gray trash bins, and poured your documents in them. Then you got your containers back. When each bin was full, they wheeled it back to the truck, which had automated mechanical arms to lift it up and dump the documents into the shredding part. All of their paper shredded is recycled. After my documents were poured in the trash bin, I was told I could leave or watch my items be shredded. I was more than happy with American Document Destruction's services. I was confident my documents would be shredded securely and was amazed how easy the process was. Once they started collecting the documents in the gray trash bins, things started moving fast. It was just dump and go. The hardest part for me was waiting in line for 30 minutes before they started, lol! The mobile shredding truck was supposed to go to Minden at 1 PM today to service the DeBug Computer location there, but there was talk they might not make it if the truck was too full of documents. One customer even came this morning from Minden to Carson City (a 30 minute drive) in case that was a possibility. I admire her smart thinking, but I don't know I would have driven that far just for shredding. This was a free event for the community, and I ant to thank DeBug Computer for doing this. They do it each year, but this year was the first time they did it on a weekend day. read more

I went to another vendor after being given all the details on walk in service, only to be told that they weren't doing walk-ins and that I could come back "next week". In terms of the shredding service they offer, I was able to get an entire paper box shredded for $20. This seemed pretty reasonable for me as a personal/ household user, and not someone who needed it for extensive business materials. The employee working the front desk was professional and friendly. The only downside: the owner was there and went on a political rant to me (without prompting), and complained about his own employees, who were busy working as he spoke. Made the experience super uncomfortable. If the owner is gone, however, you'll have a great experience! read more

American Document Destruction, Inc. did a great job for me. All of the folks I spoke with were helpful, polite and informative. Jeff, the owner could not have been nicer. David, my main contact was helpful, professional and responsive on the phone and at the office. Louis, who actually did my shredding was polite and so helpful. I understand he has been with the company for 20 years! I had a full carload of documents that needed to be shredded. Louis helped me unload the documents from my car. I went inside to watch the shredding and it was so fast. I even got my bankers boxes back! I learned that all the shredded papers are recycled into toilet paper and paper towels! I was so happy to hear it was not going into a landfill. I received a certificate of destruction for my documents. The cost was very reasonable - worth every penny! This business offers so many available ways to make the drudgery of shredding so much more agreeable. They'll pick up and haul away; you can drop off; they are not overly fussy about how your documents need to be loaded or assembled (mine were pretty messy!), and they have pleasant and helpful folks working there. What can you really say about a place that shreds documents. Here's what you can say. It is affordable. I brought in 5 stuffed FULL grocery bags of documents and it cost me $20 bucks. My 88 year old father was very concerned that I actually watch them shred the documents. Soooo, the front desk guy had go back in the warehouse and grab someone. I had put on a visitor badge. This worker came out in the lobby, had to probably stop what he was in the middle of to come out front, put my paper in a rolling plastic garbage can and drag it back into the warehouse so I could stand there and watch him shred in front of me. He looked slightly bothered, but I was happy. If you want to watch them shred, you have to get their before 3pm. If you don't want to watch you can drop off too. #shreddedit read more

I own a small business so I don't usually have a large amount to be shredded each year; however what I do have contains some very protected information so I am concerned about making sure it is destroyed. In this age of identity theft, i am pretty much shredding everything. I have a shredder at home but when i start accumulating lots of papers and thick papers i go to American Document Destruction. Located on coney island it is easily accesible off of greg street. When you drive up they will come out and get your boxes or bags. I brought two full boxes and was charged 20 dollars. For 20 dollars which is there minimum, i found out you can bring 5 boxes. The cool thing is you can see your documents being shredded. I started going to American Document Destruction because they were the only people who patiently and politely answered my questions over the phone. MORE IMPORTANT -- they were the only company that said they'd allow me to watch my documents go through the shredder. I wanted to see it happen because it was 30 years of personal history, purged from my metal file cabinets. Everything from real estate transactions, to medical records, to divorce papers and old checkbooks. No other company I spoke with was willing to give me peace of mind by allowing me to watch the process. Now I visit them from occasionally with a small batch. I will never again have a huge personal document dump like the first one. But they're so service-oriented, they treat me like the most important customer in the world. We used this company to do on site destruction of old records. I helped the driver dump the boxes of file folders into a garbage type container which then was lifted by two mechanical arms and dumped into the truck where I could hear a shredder at work. The driver was courteous and efficient. The whole process took about an hour to shred about 70 file boxes of records. My only complaint is the price of the service. The whole process took about an hour and the charge was $600.00. If they billed the driver at $100/hour and the truck/shredder at $300/hour it seems to me $400 for this job would be more reasonable. read more

These guys were great! We needed to shred some sensitive documents of ours and a recently deceased relative. They met us at the car and helped unload the boxes of paper.
