Dry cleaning always comes out fantastic. Great service and I've gotten many alterations done here as well.

Maria is a wonderful lady. I come here often enough for her to remember my phone number and name associated with my account in the system. It means a lot to me to have her remember me, it just shows that she cares about her customers and not just their money. I would just walk in and she greets me with a smile. She inputs what I have and print out my receipt, then off I go. Pricing is very reasonable considering the location of the business. Oh they have a $10 minimum charge for credit card (it's a small family owned business so it's expected) bring cash if you have any cleaning under $10. My only complaint is the limited parking, I would have to be lucky to get a spot or I would have to double park real quick to drop off or pick up. read more

Great local laundry. Highly recommend for dry cleaning. The laundry wash/fold per pound is ~$1.20. Open 9-6 on weekdays.

Just moved to Boston about a year ago, found out about this awesome cleaner through a friend. What can I say, with my busy schedule I do not have time to waste at the laundromat. I drop off and pick up 20 lbs laundry for wash and fold every Friday and would have them ready Saturday no extra charge for a rush turnaround time. I have not had good luck here. On more than one occasion I have had clothes come back not clean. I have also had alterations done incorrectly. On a side note, the person who works in the morning is never on time, so don't plan on picking up a suit before work. read more

I used this dry cleaning service for two years because of convenience. While I'll say it is certainly not high end dry cleaning, it gets the job done. The shop is a little dingy and cluttered so don't expect to walk into a royal palace here. But the people are nice and greet you with a smile every time. There are also mints at the front... which I took advantage of on many occasions. Their turn around time is on average two days but if you want it faster you can (may be extra... not sure). The downside here is they have limited hours on Saturday and are closed Sunday... so plan accordingly. Finally, I must say I did have one incident where they stapled the dry clean tag right into my clothing... it didn't ruin the material but showed some carelessness. Overall price is good, service is nice and turn around is quick... if you live in the Middle East part of Southie, give them a shot. read more

I've been a loyal customer here for years due to their prices and the quality of cleaning for that price. I usually leave my laundry which is paid by the pound, but I recently left a gown here for some alterations and I was extremely impressed by the results. Have been using American Dry Cleaners for about 3 years. (I tried another cleaner which is now closed understandably) American does a great job with my clothes, are always fast, pleasant, appreciative of my business and are easy to do with business with, plus not too expensive. The one request I would have is the same for a lot of businesses on Broadway. Would be great to get rid of those steal garage doors at night covering their windows. So many stores do that I guess from a long time ago when it was a rough neighborhood. Now I think it is just habit. But it makes the neighborhood look like a war zone and unfriendly. read more

THe woman who owns this shop is incredibly kind and welcoming. THe shop seems clean, and the prices are reasonable. However - I won't be returning to American cleaners because when I picked up my clothes all (and I mean all) of them were shrunk. A $300 pant suit - ruined. Several of my dress shirts are now uncomfortable to wear because they are so much smaller. Not worth the savings. read more

I have a love hate relationship with this place. Let me explain. It is conveniently located around the corner from my house, which for any local dry cleaner is an essential first step. Next, the prices are unreal. Shirts are under $2, full suits are $8. Lastly, they are very friendly which always helps. Now to the not so good. For some reason they seem to love ironing buttons right off my shirts--mostly the collar buttons. I'm not sure exactly what the deal is, but it's happened on multiple occasions. They also don't seem to be able to get all the stains out--obviously some are beyond repair, but even simple food stains sometimes seem to be beyond their cleaning capabilities. Bottom line: the price and location keep me going back. There are other places in the area...I just haven't been bold enough to take the leap. read more

This dry cleaner had been fine for me in the past, but recently when I went to go collect my clothing, they had lost it. Yep, all $1,000 worth. All the work basics, too- 2 pairs of black pants, 2 black sweaters, etc. I watched the guy desperately hunt through the racks of clothes, hoping mine would appear, but they never materialized. I have been very patient with them to avoid a potential Ben Edelman situation. I have now given the dry cleaner 2 weeks to try to find the clothes. Not only has it not materialized, they have not gotten back to me when I have called for a status update. This was after I dropped off an itemized list of the items they lost to futher as for an update. I would expect any professional dry cleaner to be more helpful in a) trying to track down the clothes; b) getting back to the customer with a status update; c) trying to find a solution that is reasonable for both parties re compensating the customer for the loss. None of this has happened, and for that reason, I give this place a whopping ONE STAR. See you in small claims court. read more

I wish i could give them LESS than 1 star. I have gone here for about 2 years with my laundry. Every once in a while they shrink an underwear or i end up with a stranger's shirt, but for the most part they're cheap and quick. I recently dropped off an $80 pair of yoga pants for her to fix a hole in the seam. It has been 2 weeks since I dropped them off, and each time I went to pick them up the woman lied saying she "forgot" or has "been very busy" until she finally admitted to losing them. She gave my the owner's cell who hung up on me and turned his phone off when I asked if he was the owner. Long story short the "receipt says they are not responsible" and "they were old pants anyways she could tell" so therefore they are doing NOTHING to compensate me for losing my pants. Guess the fact that I've been a loyal customer for years means nothing to them. DO NOT GO HERE THEY ARE CROOKS AND DO NOT HAVE ANY REMORSE FOR THEIR ACTIONS. THEY DO THE WRONG THING AND DO IT WITH A SMILE ON THEIR FACE. read more

I hate to downgrade my rating so soon after giving them five stars, but I will definitely not be using this place again for tailoring. I took two pairs of my husband's pants here; one of which he'd split the seat on because obviously, they had gotten a bit too tight. He wanted both pairs of pants taken out. He got them back a few days later to discover that they had taken the pants IN and not out. Now they don't fit him and are pretty much unfixable because they cut fabric out of them. They are part of a suit and not easily replaceable. Now perhaps the difference between "take in" and "take out" got lost in translation, but if someone has split their pants, clearly they don't need them made any smaller! I've had no problems with the dry cleaning and am still happy with prices and turnaround time, so two stars it is. read more

Terrible place. I brought an expensive tie to them that had a small stain on it to be removed. This place ruined the tie and then just shrugged their shoulders. They did not reimburse me or even say they were sorry. Weak. If you are a business that specializes in cleaning clothes, do it the right way. read more

Avoid these guys like the plague. They have ruined my clothes 2 times. The first time it was 1 shirt. The next time, they ruined every single piece I left with them (there were holes in the clothing from a screw on their steamer, they claim). Great local dry cleaner. They do a great job and are very fast and inexpensive. The lady who works there on the weekends is SO nice. My only complaint is that occasionally they staple the dry cleaning tag directly onto your clothes. So far, nothing has been damaged, but it isn't ideal. read more

The store hours say they are open from 7am - 7pm M-F. I've been by there at 7:15 and 7:30 the past two days and they haven't been open. They may be fast and cheap but it doesn't help if they aren't open to pick up your items. read more

OK - I never complain. I'm very easy to please and always give a business more than one chance. That said, these guys should be avoided. They are nice and have fair prices, but the quality is terrible. Buttons are always missing, which are then replaced with cheap buttons that may or may not match. They actual cleaning is anything but. I bring in shirts that have been worn once or twice with minor collar stains and they never come out, I have to do it myself. Today I picked up my shirts and one of the shirts had a collar that was iron so incorrectly it's a crime. The worst part is, it was the shirt on the front of my order in plain sight!
