Edit in regard to their response: They did not explain that their services covered the condition…read moreof the pipe on the day of inspection (that was never a conversation). You know why? They didn't need to! That was never under question! I never stated conditions worsened, only that they failed to note any water intrusion from a joint ON THE DAY OF INSPECTION because it was CLEARLY IN THE VIDEO that Superior Sewer and Pillar to Post provided. All they needed was a note in their inspection report stating: water intrusion from joint at x ft from the cleanout... I don't care if they recommend a fix or not, their inspection didn't note it. Now onto the regular report: They really don't think they missed anything, I'm impressed! A non-operational grill (due to a bad igniter) is not the same thing as leaking natural gas! Now that they are disputing that part of my review, let's list some of the other things that they missed: a leaking shower valve (separate from a leak they noted in their report), a non-functional AC unit (wall unit), two saddle valves in use that are not up to code, a foundation crack and some drywall cracks (foundation crack was behind a flower plant, so I don't entirely blame that on the inspector, and I'm not mentioning other cracks because they were behind items they aren't supposed to move). Additionally, I paid extra for use of the IR/thermal camera and they were supposed to use that in a very specific way in accordance with their own Standards of Practice (SoP). Specifically, to check for loose connections in the breaker panel the process is: take the front panel off, turn on a high load appliance such as an AC unit, and take a reading with the IR camera. They took a reading with the front panel on (so no useful thermal measurement was taken) and no high load appliance was running. There is no way now to know if there was a loose connection or bad breaker during the time of inspection. Any inspector worth your money would use a temperature sensor to measure the temperature of air coming from air registers to ensure an appropriate temperature drop when the AC is running. They did not do that, hence the broken AC unit that was missed. A lot of the things they missed on the regular inspection report I didn't blame them for missing. I've had way more time than them to find problems, but their response to some criticism is what really makes this company the worst. Original: I hired them (and they hired sister company, Superior Sewer) to perform a sewer lateral inspection. They missed a break in the lateral that cost thousands to repair. I got the line rooted and part of the line had so much water intrusion that the rest of the line couldn't be rooted (water was saturating the 6 inch line). This was clearly visible during their video inspection and they didn't even note it in the report (not quite as much water, but still a waterfall in the lateral line). They refuse to acknowledge they missed anything stating water intrusion in clay joints is "normal". I agree that ground water seeping in is no big deal, water POURING into the lateral, which was happening during inspection, is NOT normal. They refuse to acknowledge any fault or even refund the cost of the inspection despite the fact their miss cost THOUSANDS of dollars. Don't use them. They also missed a number of things during their standard inspection and, during their Gas/mechanical inspection, they missed a natural GAS LEAK in the grill.

They were able to answer any questions we had and provided an extremely detailed report in a timely manner. We would definitely recommend hiring Tyler and Ben to complete your home inspection.

Clear Path's slogan is "we pay attention to details so you don't have to." That's almost insulting…read moreafter what happened to us. Tim missed MAJOR and OBVIOUS plumbing defects that FOUR separate plumbing companies and the city inspector herself immediately pointed out. They assumed we hadn't even hired an inspector. We'd only owned the house a few days before it became clear something was seriously wrong. Pipes were literally running uphill. Even non-plumbers know that's not how plumbing works. None of these issues were hidden behind walls. We got reports and quotes from five different companies. The cost to repair the plumbing alone? $30,000-$70,600 (and with a 30 day deadline from the city) -- oh, that's not even including the cost to open and repair walls, ceilings, and the roof afterward. And somehow the plumbing wasn't the only thing missed. During the inspection, I had to point out that a deck support beam appeared to be connected to absolutely nothing. Tim missed that one, too. Thankfully, I caught it and it was added to our report. When I brought everything to Tyler (the owner)'s attention, instead of accountability, I got nonstop talking, excuses, and deflection. Zero integrity. Zero responsibility. I see they conveniently changed wording on their website about identifying major expensive defects after these issues were brought up. Their "24 hr" turnaround for estimate repair turned into 48 hours. I have documentation of all of this. Thanks, Tim and Tyler! You're costing us tens of thousands of dollars due to negligence! Maybe that is a better slogan for you guys. Best of luck and don't forget, pipes for drains (or vents) should not travel uphill! ;) On a serious note, I really hope the same thing doesn't happen to others. USE A DIFFERENT COMPANY.

I never normally take the time to write a review but this time it deserves the effort. I had St…read more Louis Radon out to install a mitigation system because of high levels of the deadly gas in my house. Thinking about that deadly gas in MY HOUSE is crazy! So I want to share some things about this company. They did a great job first testing my home and then really explaining to me what radon gas was and what they could do to fix it. My strong advise is for everyone to get your home tested now! Anyway, we all believe our home is safe for us and our family but it may not be, so figure it out. On install day, these two guys show up, on time (actually a few minutes early) and they are uber professional. They take the time to walk through the entire house with me and explain why the system needs to be in a certain spot. They then ask, after I pepper them with multiple questions, do I have any more questions for them. I just really appreciated that level of professionalism. So over a few hours they install this system and are as polite as anyone you're hiring could be, they clean up after themselves and when they are finished, they explain my new system to me. Just really a great all around job from this company! Make sure you go with St. Louis Radon because many other installers/companies do not put the venting system above the roof line (something I learned in my research) and it is that extra effort that prevents mold and mildew on your house a year down the road. Just look around your area and you will see a difference in radon companies' work product. Thanks again St. Louis Radon!

The work itself was adequate, but there are several things prospective customers should know before…read morebooking. Most importantly: be very specific about where you want the system installed and do not defer to their suggestions. These systems are large and not particularly attractive, so if concealment matters to you, be firm upfront. A few specific issues I encountered: Pricing: STL Radon is booking several months out. When the tech arrived on installation day, my quote increased by $200. I was told I could cancel, but rebooking with another company would mean waiting several more months -- not much of a choice. Installation day: I gave permission to use my garage but asked twice that the door be kept closed when not in use (I live in the city and prefer not to advertise an open garage). The request was flatly refused. Placement: I specified where I wanted the system installed. It was placed next to my breaker box and sump pump instead, with the exhaust pipe now exiting directly by my deck. When I asked why, the tech said they assumed my basement was finished -- it is not; it's a rubble foundation with no finished space whatsoever. Resolution attempt: When I contacted the company, they offered to relocate the system only if I paid the outstanding balance in full plus an additional $1,000+. I wasn't asking for a discount -- just for what I originally requested. To make matters worse, they attempted to add late fees before the installation was even complete (it had been paused due to wind). When they returned to finish, they gave a window of 11:30-1:30 and only showed up after I texted to ask if they were still coming after 4:45pm. I'm not saying avoid them entirely, but go in with your eyes open and get everything in writing.
