I saw Dr. Megan Chee for the first time on Friday, November 15, 2024. This doctor was okay but we had a disagreement about her diagnosis and prognosis for my life and future. I have never had poor vision and been in the world 57 years. All I have ever needed is reading glasses and night driving glasses. What I most despise is that because I did not agree with Dr. Chee she became upset as evidenced by her body language and tone of voice when I questioned her and challenged her about what she explained to me. I think Dr. Chee's attitude should have been one of understanding and compassion since my history of eye care has never been bad. Perhaps Dr. Chee has never had anyone disagree with her or question her about her diagnosis. Her behaviors were that she stormed out of the room we were in and when I was asking for something her tone was sharp and mean towards me. I should mention it was my first time ever seeing this Dr. Chee. Additionally, I pronounced her name wrong when asking a question and was snapped on me as if I did it on purpose. I finally addressed the behavior by saying, "Dr. Chee, do you have an attitude because I do not agree with your diagnosis"? There was no acknowledgment of the behaviors she displayed. Finally, while I respect the profession, I do think that there is a way to give your diagnosis. For example, if you have seen certain aspects about a diagnosis, you cannot assume 'everyone' will have that experience or outcome. And it can be explained in a way that does not promote doom and gloom over a person's life. It's not likely that I will ever return. p.s. I called back to get my PD and it was not provided. Excellent patient care. The wait time was short, the waiting area is spacious and clean. Dr. Holmberg and staff were kind, knowledgeable and answered all our questions during the exam, when selecting glasses and post exam. After reading awful reviews I had to leave a great one . Been going here over a decade ; 10/10 and highly recommend; never a bad experience.

The customer service is horrible. The receptionists are rude and racist. The only speak to their "kind". When a customer comes in; employees should greet them. They didn't even ask questions. Two white employees at that. The lady who adjusted my glasses did not know how to do her job she got upset because every time she will fix them they were worse than when I came and she was not friendly if you don't like your job and you don't want to be helpful and Adjust and make my glasses more comfortable than you need to get more training now I have to come back because they still aren't right. I might make my appointments elsewhere. I had to call the manager and inform her of the situation with her employees. They need a self check or they don't need to work there. read more

I have been going here for about five years now and they have always been good with my kids and myself. My kids are picky about frames, but they were good about telling us what type of frame to get and Lens if we wanted to get something they didn't have and they just add the prescription. Never had a problem with getting an appointment. Wait times are usually minimal. read more

I'll update to 3 stars because Dr. Holmberg is actually great. She fixed the billing issue. The older white lady at the front desk is awful. The communication needs to improve as well. Because of how I was treated by that woman I won't be coming back. If you dare to go here, choose Dr. Holmberg! Don't come here. They waited until the did my exam to try to charge me an $80 fee and told me I "should understand my insurance." This is new insurance or I would've gone where I used to. The way that staff talked to me unprofessional, degrading, and downright disrespectful. I would never come back or recommend and they can shove that $80 bill where the sun doesn't shine because I'm not paying it. On top of that I never even got fitted for the contact lenses or even got a trial pair. It's despicable. read more

Excellent patient care. Getting scheduled for an emergency appointment to replace my lost glasses was fast & easy. Dr Holmberg and Staff were kind, courteous, and attentive to my needs. The office is Large and very clean with a nice waiting area. After a thorough eye exam I was in and out with a new prescription for glasses and contacts. I cannot thank Dr Holmberg enough for introducing me to a new brand of daily contacts, it has changed my life. read more

In person they seem ok and the doctors are knowledgeable. Over the phone, if they are busy be prepared for lack of service. I have been going here for over 20 years. The family business is on a decline. Time to switch. Its not a hospital, how hard can this job be. I have done customer service before, medically and 20% effort is all it takes really. read more

I have never felt the need to write a review, but after today, I will more often. I have been going to Greenspan Associates for over 30 years when it was ran by the two brothers Ronald and Steven. matter of fact I saw their father when I was a child. I don't know what happened, but the service of the people who are in charge and running the office under the Greenspan,s name sucks Big time. Every year I go back I'm seen by a different doctor, which is ok because my issue is not directly with the doctors. I know bussineses experience turn overs, but the whole front office staff is different from just last year. The one African American man they hired needs to go. He is not friendly at all, very rude and borderline disrespectful. Not only did I have to ask for my discount but also requested to get my bill statement. I asked him two questions and he responded 3 minutes later with an attitude with no eye contact. I have stayed with Greenspan for so long because of the family feel I use to get. Bad Business Practice: Discrimination and False Allegations This is one of the worst optic centers I have ever dealt with. The customer service for minorities and poor people is extremely bad. The people who work there apparently have a problem with people who are receiving Medicaid. I have gotten my glasses there for over six years, and each time they have spoken to me and other family members who also receive Medicaid disrespectfully. Today however, was the final straw. I called Greenspan Optometric Associates to make an appointment to be fitted for a pair of eyes glasses. When I spoke to the receptionist she told me I didn't need an appointment to be fitted for glasses if I already have a prescription. I then asked her could she check and she when I was last seen there because Medicaid recipients can only get glasses once every two years. She then told me she could not do that, she could only make an appointment for me to see a doctor. I told her that I didn't want to make a trip there if it hasn't been two years yet, and in the past when I called someone always told me if I had to wait another month or two. She then told me again that she couldn't help me. I then asked her to make me an appointment to see the doctor instead. She asked me if I had a prescription and I told her no. She then told me she couldn't make an appointment for me. I asked her what her name was and she said I'm not telling you. I told her that it was ok because I was making a record of the date and time. She stated to me, "you don't know me". I told her I did know her. She replied, "you don't know me and if you call here again I'm calling the police for you threatening me." She then hung the phone up on me. I am disgusted and distraught about the entire conversation. I can't believe she actually threatened to call the police on me. This is totally unacceptable and I plan to file a report with the BBB, Medicaid, South Chicago Heights Chamber of Commerce, Illinois States Attorney General, and Yelp to name a few. I would not recommend anyone to do business with this establishment. read more

Went in today to have an annual eye exam and get fitted for new frames. I was running behind and the staff were still in good spirits and allowed me to come right in to see the doc. Service was prompt and Dr Greenspan was awesome, very clear and to the point. He explained things to me clearly and without any hint of annoyance or arrogance that I was asking him questions about my eyes. The younger Dr Greenspan (Bryan) was also great, he made conversation with me while I was choosing a frame and even helped me get the best deal out of my insurance and existing deals that the office has! Customer service is very important to me and I was pleased that I wasn't rushed and he even took me over to where you pick out frames, no doc has ever done that. I came out buying 2 pairs and got an awesome deal!!!! I will be coming to the Dr's Greenspan for all of my optometric needs, thanks guys! read more

Do not go there I been waiting for my eye contacts to come in for over 2 weeks they have no eta for me and don't care one bit that I started cdl school and can't not wait on them. They are highly incompetent Waste of time and money I paid $208 at the front desk and was told over the phone it would be a much lower price, dr. Awesome visit. Receptionist could have been a little more pleasant. But once, the eye assistant, Autumn came out and checked my temperature she made me feel comfortable and welcomed. After checking my temperature, Autumn escorted me to the exam room. She was kind, courteous, humorous, and professional. Dr. Patel, O.D. was also kind, attentive and very informative to my needs. Thank you both for taking care of my needs and for being very professional. I was very satisfied. Overall, it was an awesome visit. Keep up the great job. Low wait times horrible shipping service been waiting over a month now for my glasses

Wait three weeks for an appointment only to ARRIVE for my appointment and to be told you can't be seen because of some insurance technicality that could have been rectified sooner had I known it would have been a problem. Insurance was not verified until I walked in the door...terrible protocol. Went to Vision Works and paid out of pocket. Should've believed the Google reviews on this office. read more

I had fairly new frames in near mint condition that needed tightening. When they gave me back my frames, the gloss black finish was stripped off and the white painted lettering that said Prada, was no longer legible. When I asked them about the visible damage, they said "I gave it to them like that" which clearly wasn't true. It looked like the frames were left to long in a heated setting and burned off the gloss and white lettering. Instead of Greenspan & Associates acknowledging their mistake they covered it up with a lie. read more

The doctors here are great. The front desk? Absolutely horrible. Stood at the count for about 30 seconds. Not acknowledged. Not even a "Just one moment". If there are 3 front desk employees standing around, at least one should be bothered to look up. I love the doctors and been coming for years. But I can barely make an appointment. Jenni who works in the front is the worst. Every time I have to interact with her, she always makes ME feel like a burden, as if I'm not the patient here! The front desk is the first interaction within an office, so it should be the best interaction. In this case, it is the absolute worst. I've been coming to Greenspan for 11 years. This will be ending as I will have to find a new Optometrist as the front desk and customer service is THAT unbearable. I give it two stars as the doctors are great! Just being able to see the doctors is the real issue. I don't tolerate disrespect and I will not ever be coming back. read more
