Their work was very good and their attention to detail exceeded my expectations. The company though, I'd leave at 4 stars. They scheduled my install during a holiday weekend without verifying crews plans, causing a delay of 4 days. I wasn't going to ask a crew to miss Fathers day to work on my house. Then, they pulled Spencer from my home mid install to go fix a problem almost 2 hours away, extending my install an additional day. I only have the one shower in my home. We had an appointment scheduled for a bath remodel estimate. On the day of the appointment, we were contacted about three hours before the scheduled time and told the representative was running ahead of schedule and asked if he could arrive early. We willingly agreed to the early arrival time. Shortly after, we were asked whether both spouses would be present at the new time. When we said no, we were told the appointment would need to be rescheduled for another day when both spouses could attend. We had already set time aside for the appointment and was only being respectful of the representative's time, that we agreed to accommodate the time change request. This raised concerns for us and we wondered how they handle single home owners. Would they refuse to provide an estimate at all? American home design not only will give you cheap cabinets, but they are the dealer for Rain Soft. The only thing they got going for them, Rainsoft, is they are American made 1958. 6 inch in diameter they come up to your hip. You do lose water pressure when you put these things in. They kill you on maintenance AHD, & they will lie to you and tell you they have a lifetime carbon right to your face. They have activated carbon. It's good for about 2 1/2 years on their in and out non-back wash and carbon. They get $1500 to re-bed the carbon. If you ignore replacing the carving, the chlorine will destroy the softener. You're stuck with their maintenance they love making money on the service department. You can buy a back washing carbon, but it's twice the price of the In-N-Out because it's only gonna double the life of your carbon. If you're on city water, you have to handle the chlorine what I'm finding out. Chlorine voids the warranty on softeners Not to mention their reverse osmosis, they charge $480 for two filters every 12 to 18 months. Because they love having the technician come out and pop them in for you. And they charge you trip charge parts labor gas the filters should only cost you about $60-$80 apiece, but they kill you again in the service department. If you don't mind throwing $100 a month away just in service then this is the machine for you. The only problem is you're gonna lose water pressure. Waste of time and money and you're looking at anywhere from $12,000-$16,000. Good luck read more

I've been watching your commercials on TV and they are mis-leading. One individual said that his windows were installed 30 years ago and never had any problems. We had their windows installed in our previous residence and had to have windows replaced several times because of the seal between the glass panes leaking. Initially they replaced the defective windows with question, then they wanted us to pick up the replaced windows and install them ourselfs. Dudley was very informative about the quality of our water and what was in in the water. 3 days later it was installed on a Saturday by Andrew. The install was done to perfection. As the wife of a 48-year-old disabled veteran with early onset Parkinson's, I thought American Home Design was the right choice to install a handicap accessible shower in our master bathroom after seeing all of the positive reviews. We thought the $17,000 price tag was steep, but this remodel is for the mental wellbeing and physical safety of my husband so he doesn't slip and fall. We had our initial meeting in June where the sales rep took measurements and told us the job would take place in November and that it would only take 1 day, 2 max. Fast forward to January 5th when the process finally started. The installers came and removed our bathtub and got the area ready to install the shower on Jan. 6th. On Jan. 6th when they returned, they realized the shower panel walls were two different colors and they would be unable to finish the job. We were told it would take 2 weeks for the correct materials to come in stock. Talk about frustrating, having our master bathroom be in a state of construction for 2 weeks. Thankfully we can use our teen daughters' shower, but it is extremely inconvenient and the bathtub walls are higher which makes it more dangerous for my husband to step in and out without slipping. On January 13th, I submitted an online form expressing my frustration with not only having our bathroom in a state of disarray with no end in sight, but up to that point, there had been no contact from anyone at AHD informing us of when our bathroom would get finished. On January 23rd, we were told the product was in stock and they just need to schedule the install. Today it is January 27th and we still have no word on when our shower will be installed. This is $17,000 we're already regretting. We've gone almost a month without being able to shower in our master bathroom. My husband deserves better than this. He served 15 years in the Army as a combat helicopter pilot with 2 tours to Iraq and now is on 100% disability from Parkinson's due to toxic burn pits. You'd think AHD would be more proactive in keeping us informed and taking steps to compensate for their failure in upholding their end of the contract. Really regret allowing these people into our home. Their salespeople are so pushy, wouldn't even give us time to consider their quote before they pushed a manager to come out to see us. This manager was so incredibly rude, blaming us for having to drive out an hour and a half to try to make a sale to us when we didn't want him here. He was not happy when we put our foot down and said we would not be making a decision right then and there. Very rudely walked away. Internal communication obviously has issues, not sure why they sent out a manager to us wasting his and our valuable time when we expressly told them we would consider their bid. But grateful for this terrible experience and service, we easily crossed American Home Design off of our list. read more

We had a deck install by American Home Design , when we got the quote we were assured that we would have a guarantee . They sent one guy out with his wife on the coldest day of the year. The workmanship was horrible and we complained, so they sent out another guy that fixed some of the issues. As time has gone on the issues have gotten worse. There are planks that have bowed up where they nailed them down ,BUT there was nothing to nail them to, so they are bowing up. The floor in between the planks maybe an inch and then the others may be right together, and there is nothing uniformed with the railings, I could go on and on. So I gave them another call (took we 3 calls) to talk to someone and he said the deck has NO guarantee, I told him we were told we would have a life time guarantee, he told me nothing but the cover was guarantee. So we spent $11,000.00 for a cover . Now we are having to put a new deck in, but not by these people . The guy told me if could send someone out to repair our deck but it would COST US. Never ever use them, they do not care about about the workmanship they just want the money. read more

We shopped around and got several quotes from other companies and ultimately went with AHD because we thought we were going to be treated fairly and like human being and not like a transaction. Well that changed the second you signed on the dotted line. The have no pride or care for their "customers" aka paychecks. You would be better off with a big box store or Pella, I honestly feel like they should be ashamed of themselves.
