For the past two years, we've had nasty flash floods that have left us collectively about $30,000…read morein debt, even with flood insurance. The house is built on a hill, and when a heavy rain hits us after a dry spell, bad things happen. When the last payout finally came in, we'd planned to earmark a big chunk for fixing the drainage once and for all. Enter Keep Austin Landscaped. Even though our house is small and they usually don't do such small jobs, they came up with a great plan to reroute the water from uphill and guide it around our house to prevent flooding. Initially they suggested an inexpensive galvanized wire and rock wall to keep the water from flowing into our house, but later decided that a better, solid concrete retaining wall would do the job better - - for just the same price. And then, of course, COVID happened. Nevertheless, the KAL team was still ready to work with us as long as we gave the workers their distance, which of course was only fair. I really appreciated them coming out and risking getting sick to do that work, especially when we were really scared that any time now we might flood again. Our uphill neighbors initially agreed to allow us to install a French drain on their property to allow water to drain into the alley behind our houses instead of into our house, but then reneged for reasons we still don't understand. We offered to adjust planning to take any specific concerns into account or seek mediation, but they insisted that we not do anything on their side of the hill. Of course it's difficult to route water away from a house down hill if you can't do anything before the water gets there! The nice folks at KAL tried several times to speak to my neighbors in both English and Spanish on our behalf, and in the end our neighbors allowed them to complete the plan by extending gravel drainage along the shared fence. We've just had the first heavy rain after a dry spell since they've been out here, and not a hint of flooding. Working with them has been an absolute joy, and we heartily recommend them for anyone with a landscaping or drainage issue.

I am really sad to be writing a negative review- but Innovative Water Solutions hasn't given me…read moremuch choice. IWS completed a $17,000 drainage project for us in December of 2025. Our first significant rain didn't come until April of 2026, when we received 1/2" of rain. Much of the new drainage system did what we paid for, but not all. The southeast corner grass all along our patio still had significant water which collected from the storm runoff. This was an area we had shown them with photos was a problem which needed correction. My reason for the one star rating is for the total lack of communication from the company since I have asked for remediation for this issue. I have emailed photos of the stormwater runoff and where it collected. The first email sent to Chris and Alex on April 13, 2026 was responded to by Alex stating Chris was out of the office but "I will meet with him so we can come up with a plan. We should have a response early-mid next week." I hear nothing. I email again on 4/28/26. No response. I email again on 5/4/26- no response. I call on 5/14/26 and speak with Tricia, who states she will message Alex to call me. No response. I call again on 5/14/26. This time I speak with Heather. Neither Chris or Alex are in the office. She will add our project to tomorrows meeting agenda. 5/15/26, to be discussed. Today is June 1st- and I still have not had a response. I have been cordial in my communication with them and feel I have given them ample time to respond. When we were deciding which company to hire- Chris sent this in an email: " It is our mission to provide a comprehensive and absolute solution to your drainage issues. This proposal ensures that we can accomplish that goal. We want to remove any and all stress that these drainage issues cause you and provide peace of mind. If you are receiving other quotes (we did which were 6K and 7K LESS than IWS) we ask that we are given the opportunity to demonstrate that we have the correct solution to your drainage issue and that we are the best company to implement it." Well the rainwater system runs fairly well. I save a lot of water however there are still a lot of…read morelingering issues. The gutters installed are not level so during heavy rains it overflows. The pipes that connect my two tanks were rigid so when the tanks were full and bowed the connector split resulting in flooding my basement. There is one section of the roof that doesn't have any gutters so when it's cold the water drips on my heat pumps and freezes into a block of ice. The tank overflow outlet empties into the middle of my backyard so I can't put any landscaping below it or it will get washed away. I've tried to address these issues with them but they referred me to the gutter installer and said there's nothing they can do with the outlet location.

They attempted to fix it and broke another part and when fixing again put a larger one on it and had the entire thing horizontal and didn't spray straight and go upward. My father in law said he uses Eazy Drizzle Irrigation for a long time and they were coming by to mess with his yard as a check up. He mentioned what happened and asked if they could swing by. Both Ed and Fernie came by, SUPER NICE. Told them what happened, thy realized the issue put a new elbow, and the correct sprinkler size (it was 2 inches longer then original one) they had it completely fixed, asked me to turn the system on to confirm no leaks, adjusted the sprayer an it's back to new! I will use them from now on, and refer them to anyone I know. thank y'all!
