Excellent experience with this company from start to finish! My sprinkler system has not been working properly for a couple years. My grass had mostly died off and I couldn't keep up, but was afraid of what it may cost to get it repaired and didn't feel I had the budget for it. I finally decided just to call someone and find out. I looked for some good reviews online. There were quite a few companies but I decided to give Living Proof Sprinkler a call. I called on a weekend when they were closed and I left a voicemail. I received a call back right away on Monday morning. The woman on the phone was polite and helpful and said they could send someone out same day, but it worked better for me to wait until the next day I would be working from home. They did need to cancel because of freezing weather, but notified me early and rescheduled to another day I chose, which was today 2/14/2025. They scheduled to come out between 8am-8:30. Their technician, Ciro, arrived on time and did an inspection. He then let me know what the problems were (self-inflicted buying the wrong heads), and made some suggestions for heads that needed to be moved to get the lawn fully watered. He quoted me a price, which was very reasonable, and actually went to work immediately. Once he finished, he showed me his work, answered my questions, and even answered a few questions I had related to my lawn that were not directly to do with the sprinklers. I was thankful and expressed appreciation for getting the job done thoroughly and quickly, and he let me know that this company was one of several he had worked for, and that they tried to work quickly and the pricing for customers was low compared to other companies he worked at. I certainly appreciated that information, but I then asked him if he liked working for his employer and if he felt they compensated him fairly. Budget is top of mind for me, but I really prefer to support companies who treat their employees well and don't make cuts that affect their workers' pay. It's a tough balance I know. He expressed that he really liked working for Living Proof, and that he felt he was compensated fairly and was happy where he was. Responsive, fast, quality service, providing jobs and treating employees fairly with compensation? On top of that being a family-owned business rather than a corporate conglomerate? That is a magic combination for me. After a few failed calls Living Proof Sprinkler Co. was the only company that gave me prices over the phone and didn't charge by the hour . Living Proof Sprinkler Co. is up front with the cost of their repairs and sprinkler parts and happy to explain the cost of anything you will be replacing or fixing as far as your sprinklers. They charge a $89 dollar fee to show up which I was hesitant to agree with but upon further research most people charge that much per hour and usually knock out the work in less time depending on the difficulty . For instance my job only consisted of repairing two sprinklers that had been mowed over by accident and I also needed my lines unclogged . The rep from Living Proof Sprinkler Co. arrived nice and early around 7:50 - 8:00 am as promised . He was ready to work extremely polite and knowledgeable. All the work I needed was complete within 30 minutes . After I was shown a demo of everything working properly I was told I'd be receiving an invoice in my email so I could pay online which is convenient . In the end it was worth the money in my opinion ( $144.00) to be exact for such a quick response . Had called Living Proof for a repair and they were quick to come out and take care of our issue. Repair failed but they were very quick to send a second team out right away based in MY availability, not when they could, which is nice and says a lot about how they care about the quality of their work. Second team came out when they said they would. They were patient, as I was working and on a business call. The guy explained everything to me and showed me the replaced parts, reprogrammed my system correctly and showed me what they did and tested the system while I was there. They did not send a quote so I called three times looking for it and still nothing. They have not returned my calls and seem to be ignoring me now. These guys are living proof some professionals are out there. I had problem with one of my zone, the water pressure was low. I called the and told them I need to locate the valve and nothing more. They told me, there is $98 service charge for coming out. I said fine. Eddie came from this company - I told him what I want, he said he needs to talk to manager and if it's OK. Normally they run systems check and fix leaks. But to locate valve may be extra. I told him I don't want anything else, if they cannot do I am fine. He talked to shop and said yes he can do for the service charge. Not only he found the valve that was giving me trouble, he showed me how to change pressure etc. then he went on to find all the valves in the lawn. This is wonderful for me. One of the other contractor broke a valve since he did not know there was a valve when he was digging. Now I know my valve locations I can be carful while digging around the yard. After waiting for my Home Warranty to find a Contractor, over three weeks. I looked up lawn sprinkler service companies. I was able to schedule online For a Saturday- yay. I then received a call verifying my information, and clarifying the issue; which was some some sort of leak off the main. This was determined after the city came out and looked at it. We confirmed Saturday at 08:00 AM. Isaiah (sp?) arrived a few minutes after 08:00. I was able to tell him what happened, he got to work. It is a bit after 09:00, he fixed/replaced the valve, checked they system for any other leaks or issues, replaced the dirt dug up, and I paid. And he reminded me to close my garage door before leaving. I still have a whole morning and day to enjoy. They were a no-show for our first appointment and so we rescheduled. This time someone came and did a walk through and said that they would send us a quote for the work. My irrigation system (installed by a different company) stopped working entirely. I was able to get an appointment in a week. The folks that came out to fix it were very thorough, and determined that there had been a lightning strike which took out the solenoids and controller. The cost was reasonable, especially considering how quickly they were able to diagnose and fix the issue. They installed new solenoids and a new controller. Everyone I've been in contact with, from the person who took my calls and scheduled the maintenance, to the folks who came out to repair, were all very professional and friendly. As a new home owner, I had no idea how complicated sprinkler systems are! When I discovered a flooded valve box in the backyard, it was time to get help. I called Living Proof Sprinkler Company at 5:30PM on a Thursday, and Phillip came an hour later to turn the water off, and, upon finding a very broken valve, fixed it on the spot! All of this while I wasn't even home to let him in. The next day, when I discovered a leak at a different zone, I gave him a call and he walked me through how to turn off the water outside, so the leak would stop until he is able to come over and replace the second broken valve. The staff are fantastic! Very friendly, professional, patient, and Phillip explained all the repairs with me over the phone. We had a master valve connecting our property to the city, which started leaking after the freeze. Living Proof was able to squeeze us in within a couple of weeks. Also, they don't charge to come out for an estimate, how amazing is that?! As I explained the issue, Phillip gave me a quote I felt was reasonable and he mentioned possible issues thus I could get a general range of what the cost would be. They also offer weekend appointments, though its mostly for commercial properties and my hope is they offer more weekend appointments for residential properties. I've installed irrigation systems in my home yards before, but they had two valves above ground and no additional in-inground valves. Not so with our current house. My husband and I found a sprinkler valve box full of water in the front yard. Took hours to dig/cut/swear out, because tree roots had been growing in it for over a year! (We aren't frequent sprinkler system users here, clearly.) I know when to do labor myself -- like dig it out -- and when to call the pros -- like, this is a bigger job and I need to both get it fixed and learn to do it right for next time myself. I checked yelp for both star ratings and geographic location - I wanted someone in the proximity so I'd be paying for more time in the yard vs. travel time. Living Proof was the first company to have a human being answer AND they were within ten miles. Phillip and Horatio showed up in 30 minutes. Phillip took one look and priced it on the spot, X for the valve, Y for the wire nuts, Z for the labor. When I provided my own waterproof wire nuts, they smiled, and I saved $12 bucks! (Why on earth do I personally have so many waterproof wire nuts, anyway?!) And, indeed, we saved $$ by digging out the problem spot. They answered my questions, got done quickly, and said they'd check the rest of the system to make sure everything worked properly - I'd paid for an hour and they'd only used 30 minutes. But they do the system check anyway. Smart business, bc usually there are other problems right? They were SO THOROUGH, and a team. Calling out to each other, finding/fixing/tweaking heads and valves in our 11-station yard. (The previous owners were a little sprinkler-head-happy.) Phillip also advised me on the best controller settings for summer vs. winter, taking into account the need to keep my slap uniformly moist to prevent issues (as much as one can in the Texas extremes.) Have you seen the show "The Good Doctor"? Where the lead character remembers every textbook and reassembles symptoms and issues in his brain from memory with complete recall, then diagnoses them and fixes them? That's how Phillip was with my huge frickin' system. And patient as I updated the watering diagram I'd made when I first moved into my house. SO. I am so glad that I called Living Proof sprinkler company. Initially I was calling about having a sprinkler head replaced after it got bent and wasn't functioning properly. Not only did they replace the broken sprinkler head but they went through the entire system checking each zone and each sprinkler head to make sure they were all functioning correctly and then checked the system controller to set my water timing to the appropriate amount of time for each zone. With the scorching heat and water restrictions in place for most areas I was concerned about losing my lawn all together. I've struggled to get it growing after my home builders landscapers did such a poor job at installing new sod; plus snowpocalypse and an infestation of army worms all within the first year. I've spent alot of time and money just trying to get the yard built back up and the grass to grow in but hadn't quite mastered the proper use of my irrigation system( Hunter Pro C). I now feel confident that I have a good watering schedule that will ultimately improve my lawn and keep everything fairly healthy during this sumer heat and drought. Decided to try Living Proof after seeing many positive reviews on Yelp and Nextdoor. Instead of showing up at the 11AM appointment, they showed up at 730AM due to a scheduling error in their office (-1 star). But they got the problem diagnosed quickly and repaired in about 1 hour (tree roots busted pipe). Initially, I thought their price seemed high compared to similar work I'd had done in the past. I recently put in a pool and if you have done something like that, you know that everything is going to get torn up around the house... sprinkler heads, pipe, yard, etc. I called up Living Proof and had them come out and take a look. Very knowledgeable and straight forward. I had them zeroscape what was remaining in my backyard, which was about 24 yards of River Rock that they brought in. I also had them add about 10 bushes for a privacy fence, then repair all the remaining sprinkler system... they found broken pipe, heads, valves... you name it, they were able to find it and fix it quickly. It brings a smile to my face to write a 5-star review for Living Proof Sprinkler, and I only wish I could award the company 10 stars. The owner, Phillip, was at my home this past Tuesday responding to a dire situation --our front yard had essentially turned into a marsh. Upon arrival and further inspection, Phillip discovered a leak at the T coming off of the plumbing main line going to the irrigation backflow device. (A PVC compression fitting had been installed on the copper service line that was cracked, and the compression fitting was leaking more than 1gpm constantly.) Ultimately, Phillip advised my husband and me to consult a plumber as this was an urgent plumbing matter, beyond the scope of his licensed irrigation expertise.
