DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE!!! Our dog was unwanted: set up to failure from the get-go! Discriminatory is the only word to describe our experience with America K-9 We have a 9-month-old Mastiff mix, best way to describe is temperament is he is just like Ferdinand the Bull; he is large, energetic, but very friendly . Prior to sending him to day care at American K-9. At 4 months we brought him to weekly training session for several months with a different trainer. He excelled to say the least, picking up commands with ease. We then decided it was time to get him socialized with other dogs, & much need play time. We choose American K9, boy, do we now regret it! We brought him in for evaluation, we were told he would be placed with adult dogs because of his size. THEY COULD NOT DESCRIBE AN INSIDENT WERE HE WAS AGGRESSIVE TORDS ANOTHER DOG OR A HANDLER! THEY COULD NOT EVEN DESCRIDE A CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER DOG!! We were told he attempt to hump another dog ; needed to be neutered , he was too aggressive needing to work with "their trainer". We were also told we could continue to bring him for day boarding at a cost that is 80% more that day care & offers less; no socialization only two daily walk place & in a pen to play in by himself for exercise. At drop off or pick up the staff would tell how much they loved him, was even sent a video of him playing. We did opt to go through their "training session", thinking our young pup could use more training. We spoke with Pam (their trainer), teller her about our pups previous training, it was as if Pam did not listen to us. Over the course of several weeks Pam only worked with our pup directly for four (4) fifteen (15) sessions going over the same commands he was already familiar with. Pam herself remarked how well our pup was doing . Was even shown a video of how well our pup was doing. The cost of these "training sessions" was more than his previous weekly training session but cover the same material(?). Wanting to keep him acclimated with the staff & facility, we did continue day board until we got pup nurtured. After his surgery, we kept him isolated at home for several weeks for him to recover & to let the hormones work the way out of his system. Prior to his return to American K-9 , we call with our intent & to verify what else was needed. We were told he should be ok. We brought him back for one day of boarding. IN THAT ONE DAY HE CONTRACTED KENNEL COUGH! We kept him home for an addition 4 weeks for him to recuperate & family vacation. Again, we called to make sure what was need for his return. We were told we need a note from his Veteran (?). We spoke to our veterinarian, who was skeptical about it, how ever did provide us with the note. On the day of his return to day care my partner was greeted by Allicin. Who berated her about kennel cough; shock that we had a note from Veterinarian & did not even bother to read it. Two hours later we received call from Allicin saying our pup is not a good fit cause he is "too big". AGAIN, THEY COULD NOT DESCRIBE AN INSIDENT WERE HE WAS AGGRESSIVE TORDS ANOTHER DOG OR A HANDLER! THEY COULD NOT EVEN DESCRIDE A CONFLICT WITH ANOTHER DOG!! Allicin kept repeating he is "too big" & we could no longer place him day care for this reason. Again, we offered their expensive day boarding & training sessions but offered nothing more! American K9 knew the breed of my pup for the start , failing to initial properly assess him & his ability to obey commands. read more

This is my second time using this business for boarding and both times my dog has been given the gift of conjunctivitis. My dog also has cuts on his paws for being outside in the snow for to long. The worst of it is that he is so stressed he has blood in his stool and no staff made me aware of any issues! This will certainly be our last time boarding here. My dog is 45 lbs for reference and low key needs. Even the large dog rooms are extremely overcrowded. I am truly disturbed by the lack of care and communication of this establishment. read more

Our dog loves it here. It probably isn't for a dog that can't along with others because they play in a huge open group, but if your dog is social they might love it too. Constructive criticism, the attached spa business is way overbooked. If America K9 could do tooth brushing with the basic grooming they could do it would be perfect. I'm still giving them 5 stars. I have no clue as to why American K9 Country doesn't have 5* ! They have been a life saver for me and my Sammie! (Female German Shep.) We have been at AK9 for 10 months. AK9 has helped Sammie learn how to play well with others and build her confidence. I truly trust them with my baby. I also understand that they are dogs, the staff cannot protect her from everything, but I do know the staff does the best they can. The cameras on the playground and inside are awesome. My husband and I are extremely disappointed in American K-9 Kennel in Amherst, NH. Shortly after dropping off our Dobermans Molly and Shay on 08Mar24. Our Doberman Molly, upon entering the kennel daycare area received a laceration somewhere inside or outside the canine daycare facility. We were immediately called to pick her up. Our plans for plane departure were negated. This is negligence on the part of the kennel facility owners, management, and staff for not protecting Molly in their care. By no means is this acceptable for our Molly. Therefore, signing, printing, and initialing an index card does not cover the above avertable incident. Further questioning staff members about the event, the daycare and front desk staff could not confirm or explain what happened to Molly after searching through the kennel daycare facility, for causing this type of laceration, confirmed by the veterinary emergency clinic in Manchester, NH (photo attached to website). This can be validated through review of web cams throughout daycare facility. We made respective calls days after for updates to find what caused this gash into the middle of Mollys right side, as we were concerned this could reoccur to another dog placed in daycare on any given day with twenty plus dogs under insignificant supervision. We requested through a front desk staff member, to please have owner, Amber, return a call to us. We never received a call from her for any concerns regarding our Doberman Mollys recovery. This shows no compassion or reassurance to the client for the care of their pet during boarding and daycare in the facility. Being a regular monthly customer of the kennel since 2020, supporting the business through Covid-19 till March of 2024. We are extremely disappointed in the owner, Amber, of American K-9 Kennel. No owners, management, or staff members called to follow-up for concerns on how Molly was recovering after emergency surgery. This is exceptionally disheartening, as not one owner of the facility reached out to us in any manner to compensate the veterinary costs occurred after being a loyal customer for over three years. Importance for safety and care is top priority for our pets as a family member. Please give substantial consideration before leaving your pet for boarding or day care with this kennel facility. For clarification purposes, before posting this review we have given American K-9 Kennel a considerable amount of time (over four months) to reach out to us regarding the event occurring on 08Mar24. Hopefully, there is still reflection for the owners to reach out to us. Therefore, our rating is zero stars, we will not be recommending the kennel for boarding, canine day care for pets. Front desk check in was chaotic. when we first checked in for boarding/daycare there were 3 staff members at the desk. It took a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge we were there. When we finally were helped, the receptionist was rather rude. We also paid for a bath, at pick up our dog was absolutely filthy and covered in feces. When we challenged the bath, the person who brought him up said he was bathed and walked away to help another customer. Overall experience was meh at best. read more

I tried American K9 Country for the first time for one night of boarding and daycare. Upon picking up my Shichon I noticed her right eye was red. I immediately called and they told me she must have gotten shampoo in her eye. The next day I brought her to the emergency vet and was told that she has a severely bruised eye/trauma as well as a tick that had not been there long. After the appointment I brought her back to American K9 to find that I had to speak to Amber who was not in. I e-mailed Amber that night and had to reach back out the next day at noon and she apologized that she was in training. She proceeded to tell me I signed a waiver and that there was nothing she could do about it and had zero compassion, not even asking how she was or even an apology. In regard to the tick, she indicated that she did not get it at outdoor play and it had been there awhile (no idea how she would know that from the photo as I would assume the vet would have more knowledge). Her last words after defending the facility was that she would put in the computer that I would not be returning. She now needs a cone and I have to put drops in her eyes for two weeks with a follow up appointment in hopes that it heals. If you want to board your dog in a safe facility, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere. read more

Update: They made an exemption and checked out our dogs, but made to surcharge us in the process. We have been going to this facility for about 2 years and had never had an issue until now. We bordered our dog for our daughters wedding and not even 15 minutes after my husband dropped our dog off than he received a call to return. Our dog had been in an altercation and our first thoughts were how was the other dog, did our dog do something. Turns out, our dog was the victim and in the "wrong place at the wrong time" according to the staff. Our dog was bit on the ear and had emergency stitches costing us $1000 and with no one to watch him for the wedding. Thank goodness for the venue hosting the wedding who went above and beyond to help us through this situation. The "owner" of AK9C was away and was to reach us later. There was no consideration from the staff other than there is nothing we can do as we signed a waiver. The dog that bit our dog was expelled and no retribution from them as they declined the facility from giving us their contact information. It has been 4 days and still not even a follow up call from the owner or staff to see how our dog is. Very poor way to run a business. We will be very careful when we find new facility to take our dog...I suggest you do too. Don't take your dog here. read more

My 12 yr old Golden Retriever was left for first ever kennel stay for 9 days. No issues, just older and stiff in hind end. I called 3 times was told no issues he was chilling. Picked him up was having trouble walking , belly and legs soaking wet and stinking. Got home both elbows red raw and one infected. Went to vet for treatment had lost 8 lbs, running 104 temp and also had kennel cough. He had vac but they had others known, not told. Had to pay b4 knew and to pick up, but this was total older dog neglect. They should have said something when I called, I would have come. Took a month and several antibiotics and meds and tlc but back to happy older Golden. Never again,disgusting care. When I called was told he was geriatric and issues. I'm not sure why this place has such low ratings, as I've had nothing but positive experiences. The front desk staff had always been helpful. When I've called on the phone to get information about training or to check on my pup who was in day care for the first time, the person who answered the phone was friendly, patient, and understanding. My pup is always so excited to come here she drags me into the building! We really love coming for the dog park. The fenced- in area has plenty of grassy room to run and play, and owners tend to take care of their dog's poo so it's much cleaner than any other local parks. Keep in mind this is in a wooded area, so be sure to wear bug spray in the summer! We've also been enjoying the training classes. The instructors are knowledgeable and make class fun. There are other facilities closer to us, but we drive out of our way because of how much we like it here. read more

Have been bringing my Labrador here for over a year since moving to the area. We have participated in classes, pool time, day care and boarding. My dog still loves coming here (drags me in) and the staff are loving and accommodating, and their web cams actually work and you can really see how your pup is doing. Most recently during a family illness crisis and then death of a loved one, they were overly accommodating with last minute boarding and taking care of things and going above and beyond the call of duty without knowing the whole situation. I waited a very long time to write this review because honestly I'm not the type of person to bash any sort of business. However after about 6+ months my experience with this business just doesn't sit right. My 4.5 month old Golden puppy was enrolled in their basic pet program for training. Throughout their 7 week program I was made to feel like my dog was an absolute menace. (He was doing normal puppy behavior, jumping, getting distracted, play biting, etc.). Nicole the training assistant offered week 4 to have me borrow a prong collar for class because my pup just wasn't listening (I have no issue with prong collars as he uses one now). She lent us a collar that was WAY too large for him and said "wow I've never seen a golden not respond to a prong collar before that's Pitbull/German shepherd behavior" and then just walked away. Provided no guidance or actual training advice just judgement. Week 5 Nicole suggested enrolling him in daycare prior to class to "help him focus". Which I gladly did because I wanted him to get the most of his classes and of course be socialized. His first day of daycare he was put with the "tiny tots" he was 45lbs of pure energy and the only dogs in his group were very very small. I watched on the webcam all afternoon at work and all he did was stand in the outdoor yard by himself with no human or other dog interaction. Oh yeah and did I mention it was freezing rain/snowing outside. So my 6 month old puppy was left outside in 30 degree weather by himself for 5+ hours before I could go and pick him up after work. When I finally got out of work and was able to go and get him the girl I told who I was picking up walked back and forth from the grooming area 3 times before finally getting him (from the grooming area) completely soaking wet. When he was brought to me he was not happy to see me and couldn't wait to leave. The girl who brought him out to me told me how much fun he had and how much the staff loved him and how he made lots of friends (even though I watched no one check on him and him not interact with any other dogs for multiple hours). We had training class later on that night and when we arrived he was afraid to get out of the car (which has never ever happened again). I was extremely disappointed with their training program and their doggy daycare. I had always heard great things about this facility (I am a vet tech in the area) but something must have changed. Moral of the story is my dog goes to a different training/daycare facility that he and I both love and he's thriving. I would never recommend bringing your pet here because it is over crowded and it doesn't really seem like they care about the individual dogs well being. read more

This place overall is okay. The building is very nice and they have video cameras so you can keep an eye on your dog from the internet. However, we had a fairly negative experience today that has made me re-evaluate whether we should go there. I have taken our dogs to several different day cares and, at other day cares, have always had a positive and accommodating experience with staff. Today, it took about 35 minutes for us to drop off our dogs. One of our dogs had been there previously and one had not. I knew that I would have to fill out a form for the new dog so I planned on spending an extra 5 minutes filling out the form. When we dropped the dogs off, we were told that one of our dogs had a Martingale collar which was not acceptable. We had brought him several times with the collar so we did not anticipate a challenge there. However, we were initially (this morning)told that we could make sure to bring a normal collar next time and that would be fine. So we sat down to fill out the form. By the time we finished completing the form, someone had gone to tell the manager that we didn't have the correct collar. The manager was incredibly rude/aggressive to us -making us feel like we had caused a problem. I told her that they had already told us that and we had a buckle collar at home that we would be sure to use next time. She told me my dog couldn't stay for the day unless I bought a collar from them and a tag. We had brought a tag so we used that but by now we didn't have time to drive home with our dog, go get his collar at home, then come back and do this whole thing over again. So we purchased a collar from them. I understand that the collar policy was initiated and now it needs to be followed, but the manager did not need to treat us so disrespectfully. We hadn't argued with a single staff member so I'm still unsure why I was treated in this manner. read more

We will be doing a CPE Trial there in June and wanted to schedule a private lesson for our dog to get him used to the facility and unique flooring. I was e-mailing back and forth and was offered a slot which worked for us because my husband had the day off work. I wrote back immediately and confirmed the appointment. I never heard back for several days. This morning (the day of the appointment) I called to learn they had "Sold" my space. The claim was they sold it right after it was offered to me. I highly doubt that was the case as I had written back within minutes confirming it. They were totally rude and unaccommodating. I am both upset and angry. I can't say enough good things about AK9C. I've been bringing my dog Rigby there for almost a year for daycare. The facility is beautiful and always clean, the staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and my dog loves his daycare days there. When I first inquired about their daycare, never having used a daycare at all before, they were very helpful on the phone and answered all my questions. The signup process was easy and they raved about how much they loved him when I picked him up. I've been sold on them ever since. He only goes twice a week but they always know his name and greet him with excitement. My dog is particular on who he likes but he always wags his tail and gets excited when any staff member comes to get him. They make sure to tell me how he's done and how much they love him. Its also fun to check in on him on their webcams. It's been a life saver with them being open during COVID, and they've taken great precautions to keep their customers safe. I take multiple dogs here for training and find the staff excellent. My dogs' personalities vary from outgoing and very active to reserved and cautious. The trainers in group class are able to tailor individual training plans for each dog so they are able to succeed. They are also a great value for the money. The training areas are state of the art and spacious. I first tried another training facility in this area and found the training area small and cramped and frankly dangerous to have so many large breed untrained dogs jammed into a small space together. Plus, they were double the price as American K9 Country and the trainer was less hands on. She wanted everything to be done as homework and class to be done as demo only. At American K9 Country, the trainers actually go around to each dog in class, work with them and have you do a return demonstration. Prior to leaving class each week, they make sure your dog has the concepts down and all you need is repetition and practice- not learning everything at home. read more

I'm sure it's fine. My dog seemed great when I picked her up BUT, the service is so beyond rude Id never return. The girl that usually answers the phone sounds so bitter and hateful that I am beyond confused why they have her working there at all. Look, you are providing me a service for which I am paying! I board my pets here. It is the only one that I can find that is suitable and somewhat close to what I expect for my animals. They seem to have a lot of clients so I suggest that you call ahead to make reservations. Lots of options and they have always been accommodating and friendly. They offer agility, daycare and also have grooming onsite but I believe it's separate from the actual kennel. As with any business there is room for improvement. I would like to see larger cat condos with web cams to view your pet. Also webcams on each dog kennel would be more reassuring. Also even though it's a kennel I think that the entrance and hall could be cleaner and smell better. It's hard to do with animals but I know it's possible because I used to board out of state at a place that you couldn't smell anything but freshness. It's hard to board pets but like I said this is the only place I've found that I trust, and didn't repulse me upon entering. 11/21/2012 UPDATING TO 1 STAR I have not used this company in over a year due to multiple injuries sustained by my pets while in their care. Twice when confronted they admitted that they were injured. (well why did you not tell me??) and the other times they acted like it was no big deal and they were just being dogs. Im sorry but a bloody eyeball that needed medical treatment is not minor. I have come to the conclusion that this place is ONLY in it for the $$$. My dogs literally would start to shake when I pulled in on the gravel road. I would then have to pick them up and carry them in, because they would drag on the leash. I always thought it was just because they did not want me to leave. NOW at the new place they get all excited 2 blocks away, and bolt to the front door as soon as I let them out. I have boarded my dog here several times. He also goes here once a week for doggy daycare. They have good prices and don't put them in a cage for nap time( not sure why other places do this, if my dog needed to sleep I'd leave him home). To comment on others experiences about their dogs coming home injured, it has happened to me also. There have been a few instances where he has come home with scratches and some pretty good gouges. No big deal, dogs play rough just like kids. I never blamed it on them. The worst thing about this place is trying to take a left out of the parking lot at 5pm! Beside that, its thumbs up. read more

This is a wonderful facility. I spend a couple days a week training here for the past 7 years. I have taken agility, CGC, and competitive obedience classes and privates. I can honestly say, it is the best facility I have trained at, and I have been training and showing dogs for almost 30 years. Trainers are all top competitors, the owners are exceptional, and the staff is very knowledgeable and caring. The grooming is wonderful as well. I have also toured the day care facility and the cat area, and it always has appeared very clean to me. I do believe that some of the negative reviews come from owners that simply do not have control over their dogs. Oftentimes when I'm there, I see owners being pulled all around, barking, entering the main arena and getting out of control. Perhaps when boarding, they should spend the money and take one of the private sessions that are offered. There has to be some responsibility of the dog owner to begin with. The staff is extremely busy during pickup and drop-off time, but I have never heard a rude phone call or any of the staff being rude to a client. Back to the training--you will not find a place on the East Coast that has as many training classes and opportunities to learn a new skill, train, or show your dog. There are pet classes many times a week. Everyone I have brought as a guest to observe as just been amazed at the facility. The place is like a second home to us, and I have made many long-lasting friendships here. The ratings for this facility should be much higher! read more

BEWARE I recently boarded my dogs there for 2 weeks and the dogs came with intestinal parasites. So when I came home from my family vacation I had to cook bland diets for my dogs and vet visits/medicine that cost over $400. I spoke with the manager/Owner Amber and she was NOT empathic. I absolutely love everything about this place. Their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and they love their customers (both humans and dogs). I rescued a 4 year old doberman mix then had to go out of town for a week. I had no idea how he would act around other dogs so I left it all in their hands, telling them if they felt comfortable then they could let him play with the other dogs during the day. When I came to pick him up it was such a beautiful sight seeing him walking around the room with 20+ other dogs! They have a doggy day care web cam for both outside and inside so you can always see your dog during the day. There is always someone either in the building or on call during after hours for any emergency. If you know you are going out of town (especially during a holiday) make your reservation as early as you can! They fill up very quickly. I made this mistake once and picked my dog up after leaving him with the local vet for 5 days and he looked skinny and had an injury on his nose. He was also very hyper from being inside a cage most of the time. With K9 Country, you can pretty much be guaranteed an exhausted dog when you come to pick them up. I recommend having them groomed by one of their amazing professional groomers at their on site pet spa before you pick your dog up. Playing outside all day makes them dirty and stinky! But they are super happy and that's what matters at the end of the day. It's not all about boarding...if you have a day of errands to run, you can drop your dog off with NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED. It's super convenient! You just walk in, press the paw-shaped buzzer, drop off the dog, pay, then be on your way. It's about $20 for the day and you know your dog will be safe and happy. read more

I witnessed the facility manager being extremely rude & condescending to a customer that was waiting in line directly ahead of me (while I was waiting to check in at the front desk). This women (the manager) had a minor altercation with a customer and it was very clear to see that the manager has absolutely NO people/personal skills whatsoever. Absolutely horrible experience integrating my dog into their daycare. they had her inside for 30 seconds before a rude, abrasive women came out and said " that lab, the new boy is not allowed in daycare he is way to aggressive." First off, my dog is a Doberman/Shep/Malinois Mix... which I proceeded to correct her and she proceeded to sat to me multiple times "Well He's not a Doberman." " Well he's not. " which in fact, SHE IS, also a girl. Had her tested multiple times to find out she was also a malinois. So rude, unprofessional. I asked why they were dismissing my Sweet girl so fast and they said " We need to get her out we have an aggressive dog in the back who she is reacting badly to" I then really lost my patience after this because they were claiming MY dog was too aggressive for daycare yet she was doing nothing but barking at the other "Aggressive dog" so the employees say. Clearly these people really don't care for the needs for each dog they allow certain reactive dogs in clearly and not others, even when they have never had an incident or been labeled aggressive at multiple other daycares and well known training camps. Extremely unprofessional and rude staff. Will not be recommending this place to any friends or family in Amherst/Milford/ Nashua area. read more

I am worried about this place and the way they treat the dogs in daycare. After reading the reviews and finding out that other people have had the same problems I have encountered. Our dog is now very scared to go in the building. She is a border collie, very intuitive and smart. Last few times she's been there for daycare she has come out sick and very very thirsty. She gets diarrhea now every time and it might be that they don't provide clean water for the dogs. The video cameras are very hard to watch because there is always a long delay. I guess I'm not going to force our dog to go into this place anymore. Too sad because it can be a great place if the staff will have a better sense on how to treat dogs more humanly. My rescue miniature schnauzer attended for over a year. The only reason she stopped going is that I tool another job in another state. We LOVED it there! The tiny-tots rooms is the best. It gave us peace of mind knowing that she was with other small dogs and would not be integrated with dogs that weighed 10X her size. The staff is friendly and truly cares about the dogs. The doggie daycare does NOT use crates and dogs get to come in and out as they want. Their groomers, "A Paw Above the Rest," is the best I've used. They can do an authentic schnauzer cut like no one else! The prices are reasonable and they groomers are very professional. For doggie parents, they have great offers like free toys on certain days and they bring in dog photographers and even pictures with Santa Claus! I highly recommend them to anyone looking for their services. I'm actually driving from Salem, NH to Amherst (about an hour) to get my dogs groomed there after trying groomers in this area. As a responsible dog owner we began classes with Ben (our now 8 month-old Goldendoodle) right away. We completed Puppy Class, Basic Dog and now Canine Good Citizen. All the classes were taken with the same trainer. We thought being consistent was important. Last Thursday evening during the CGC test at the part where my Husband was walking Ben, they stopped to greet another person (Assistant Trainer) walking the trainers dog. This dog has been introduce in the various classes we took. Ben was distracted by the dog and stopped to sniff the dogs butt. The Trainer got in between my husband and Ben and kicked Ben in the face. No words were spoken to my husband. Ben did not stop sniffing, so the trainer stepped in and kicked him in the face again. This time Ben cried out. This got the attention of everyone. My husband said "What the heck", the trainer apologized. My husband stated " you kicked him". She apologized again and she stated "just so you know, that is how we train them here". She explained that when a dog reaches in to sniff a "bitches" butt, the bitch could turn around and bite the dog in the face. My husband thought about just walking out and leaving, but opted to stay so Ben could complete the test. I was watching the test from upstairs. Ben tends to look for me and I wanted to be out of the way so that I was not a distraction for him. I saw and heard the entire incident. I regret that I was not videoing the test. After the test was completed I went downstairs to speak with trainer. The first thing she said to me was that she was "so sorry", she didn't mean to kick him. I said "you kicked my dog, not once, but twice!" she told me that that is how they train dogs to not sniff another dogs butt. She stated that if a bitch was in heat she could turn and bite Ben in the face. Again, I said "so you kicked him, you hurt him". She apologized again. She also stated that Ben learned his lesson and would most likely not do that again. I told her we were done here. We were never told any of this sniffing business is wrong in class. We should have been told in class if this occurs to try to get your dog to move on with a "come" command. I wondered if it was true. Have we been putting Ben at risk when we allow him to sniff other dogs? I did a google search and found that sniffing is like a hand shake. The next morning I called American K9 Country and spoke with the Manager. I asked to speak with the owner but was given Manager. She knew what had happened and said that trainer felt terrible. She went on to say that the trainer has been a trainer for 15 years and would never hurt a dog. I told the Manager that the trainer had stated to me and my husband that "that's how we train them". The Manager chuckled and said "no we do not train them that way, there must be some miss-communication". I explained that this is what trainer told us, she also told us this separately. She told my husband during the incident and she told me after the test. The Manager stated that if I did not feel comfortable she would refund me for the entire class. I told her that if trainer felt comfortable kicking my dog in front of me and so many other people I would never feel comfortable leaving Ben there...ever. And yes, refund me for the entire class. There was no real apology. I am concerned about how easy it was for the manager to dismiss me. I am concerned about any business that does not act responsibly when it comes to hiring trainers who work with dog owners like myself. I took classes so that I could be a good responsible dog owner. I am concerned about the message they are sending. We used day care occasionally and boarded Ben for 5 nights over Thanksgiving. Every time Ben came back smelling really bad, thirsty and extremely anxious to get in the car. The cameras have lots of blind spots so you really can't track what is happening with your dog. Also we learned that there is no overnight staff, so if something happened in the middle of the night... well I can't bear to think about that ... read more

I initially was a very happy customer at American k9 country until one day I showed up to pickup my dogs and they handed me my dog with poop all over him , dried and encrusted into his neck. I guess they expected me to drive him home like this? I didn't know what to say so I laid out a towel and took him home. The next time I came back they gave him to me the same way and I told them I couldn't take him like this could they rinse him off for me? They gave me a hard time and finally rinsed him a little bit. My thing about this is that if there were enough workers then they wouldn't have to send dogs home encrusted in poop because they would have never let them roll around in it because they would've picked it up. Obviously they need to hire more workers. My dog got giardia 5 times from this place and when I called to tell them that they said it was impossible to avoid . I changed daycare/boarding facilities and I am so much happier. Haven't had giardia since, my dogs are always occupied with a much better human:pup ratio. This place might have good prices but you will pay in medical costs later, so might as well pay more for a better facility. read more
