We used Founders for a wedding reception and absolutely loved our reception. The location is beautiful, and everything was handled very efficiently. For appearance, location, and execution of the event, I would give them five stars. I didn't really enjoy the planning with them because the staff is a bit unapproachable, definitely impatient, and frankly, just a little too snooty to overlook. I was grateful to have a wedding planner who handled most of the contact with them. I'm a people person, and I can tell you, you won't get the warm fuzzies from this crowd. Food is handled by their catering company, which is technically separate, but Founders provides the beverages- sort of a strange dichotomy- and they don't really have a great selection in terms of wine and beer. They are also slightly higher on those items than most other comparable venues. For planning and customer service I give them two stars. I would like to point out that the servers were excellent and very friendly to our guests, but they were provided through the catering company that did the food. We also enjoyed working with the caterer to plan our menus, but again, she works at the catering company rather than for Founders Hall itself.

The inn is a popular spot for weddings. Their slogan is "we put the Marry in Marietta." They've won multiple awards from wedding service company The Knot. It's not hard to see why. The home is beautiful and for our party, it was tastefully and elegantly decorated for the holidays. In addition to weddings and holiday parties, the inn also hosts many corporate and social events. It's a charming, smaller, intimate setting. The house was traditionally decorated with Christmas wreaths and lights. As we walked up to the house, it looked like a scene from a Christmas movie. The home felt warm and inviting. I estimate we had about 100 attendees at the party. I believe the venue can host up to 150. Our party consisted of cocktails and dinner. A coat rack was set up in the office near the front door. A bar was set up in one of the parlors. The inn doesn't have a liquor license, so we had to bring our own alcohol. Food was catered by Carriage House Catering, which is located on-site. The small dining room had a dessert table, tea and water, and a coffee station. The dessert table's centerpiece was a classic gingerbread house. It was surrounded by chocolate bourbon pecan pies (derby pie), large glass containers filled with creme brulee and colorful berries, plates of baked brie, and other decadent sweets. Coffee was kept warm and stored in an ornate silver coffee dispenser. Chocolate shavings and a bowl of whipped cream were available to add to the coffee. Dinner was served buffet-style and consisted of a mixed field salad with cherries, walnuts, Parmesan, and a spiced orange vinaigrette, hot Charleston crab dip served with flatbreads, sauteed seasonal vegetables including carrots, zucchini, and asparagus, red skin mashed potatoes, sliced prime rib in a rosemary au jus with spicy horseradish sauce, roasted salmon fillets cooked with pomegranate buerre blanc (white butter), and dinner rolls. Overall, the food was pretty good. The salmon was dry, but that was the only "bad" thing. Most of the other items were delicious. My favorites were the flavorful field salad, the savory vegetables, and the consistently soft and appetizing mashed potatoes. The desserts were excellent and the coffee station was fun. I enjoyed the rich chocolate bourbon pecan pie. Service was good. The bartenders filled drinks to the brim and servers made sure the buffet was replenished regularly and finished plates were cleared from the tables. Our dinner took place in the large ballroom which had chandelier lighting. There was a pianist in the dining room who played Christmas music non-stop throughout the night (3-4 hours). Aside from the ballroom, the house has many areas to congregate and socialize including the aforementioned dining room and parlor rooms, as well as front and back porches outside. There are also gardens outside. Inside, holiday decor included a brightly lit tree, festive candles, Nutcrackers, Christmas trumpets, poinsettias, and a staircase lined with ornamented garlands. It was picturesque. Plenty of parking is available at SunTrust Bank next door or across the street at First United Methodist Church. I recommend parking at the bank so you don't have to walk across the street.

We all grew up on and in the Chattahoochee River and there was a least one "senior skip day" many of us floated the river. The venue is reasonably priced, no need to rent tables and chairs and it provided just the right atmosphere for old friends to reconnect and talk, walk out by the river and recall our glory days in Sandy Springs, jumping off the cliffs and floating the Hooch. Also, the actual building itself shares a portion of the lot with a Tubing / kayak rental company. This location is catered to smaller weddings. The lot fits a good amount of cars, but is no way a walmart parking lot. Inside: I would say quaint and slightly rustic. It's been a while since they renovated the paint and carpet. Centered before the hall is a 4 way open gas fire place. There's a small upstairs loft section that can fit maybe 2-3 large round tables up top on each end and maybe a kids table section in the middle. The wedding I DJ'd for, actually had the side photographer doing a photo booth upstairs. Good thing that along each wall is a good number of outlets, with out having to run extension cords all over the place. There's a small kitchen with a good amount of counter space for any caterers to prep. Which includes the following amenities; Two ovens, microwave, ice machine, double basin sink, and a refrigerator. Rest rooms consist of a men's and ladies' on one hallway, with a unisex / handicap close to the kitchen. I wouldn't call it a family rest room as there isn't a diaper changing station. The dance floor area is pretty small, so they moved me upstairs once the reception started. Outside: Google images shows that a lot of couples perform the ceremony part on the patio section over looking to the chatahoochee. For this part I was section right near the corner of the outside building with two available outlets to provide power for my DJ equipment and speakers; which consisted of a 4 ft table and two 15" PA speakers on speaker stands beside me just for size reference. After the ceremony and transition to cocktail hour, there were a good amount of space for banquet tables, high tables for just placing drinks, and a bartender station. [Service]: I was only the DJ so I did not join any of the meetings between the bridal couple and the management. Though they only rent out tables and chairs which you can see the prices and description on their site. But the caterers had to bring their own table cloths and such. As for noise, the city of Roswell has a noise ordinance that limits any events for this area to end at 12 am. As the wedding party was gathering everything up, the management team started to put up all the tables and chairs. Try not to forget anything, cause they are pretty quick on locking up and heading home. {Summary}: With the new rights that allowed other types of couples to get married, I would say that this location is great for any small weddings. This location also provides a good scenery for sunset photos. I believe that if an event such as a wedding, it's about $600 for rental and $500 for a refundable deposit for weekdays; M-Thur.
