Love to go for chicken wing Thursdays. The wings are delicious and the people are really, really nice!

The second visit, however, came with a greeting I've never heard in my fifty‑plus years: "You've been out all day. I can't serve you because I'll be liable if you're over served." I've bartended before. I understand the responsibility. But I was never asked a single question about what I'd actually been doing. For clarity: we had lunch at Michael's Seafood before our first visit. I had one non‑alcoholic seltzer at Island Beverage, and my partner had a four‑flight sampler. After that, we went thrifting and shopping at Goodwill, Lowe's Foods, and Dollar Tree. No drinking. No bar‑hopping. Nothing even close. On our second visit, Geneva gave us water and let us charge a phone -- and I do appreciate that. But being told "you've been out all day" instead of "welcome back" was unnecessary, inaccurate, and frankly insulting. It was an assumption presented as fact, and it was embarrassing. What made it even more absurd was watching Geneva continue to serve patrons who were clearly intoxicated while I sat there with a glass of water. So here's the takeaway: Don't go in twice in one day. Apparently that alone is enough to get treated like you've been drinking all over town. After this experience, I won't be going in on any day. I hope the staff can handle situations like this with actual communication instead of jumping straight to conclusions.

They had a more than ample selection of local brews on tap, and all that we sampled were delish. They had a huge selection of wine and even served wine by the glass. There were a ton of games to play while you sip, which will be on our agenda next time. The bartender couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming to 2 non-locals! Next time we are bringing the rest of the crew!

Racism Has No Place -- Do Better, ABC Store…read more My recent visit to this ABC store was one of the most demeaning, infuriating experiences I've had in years. As my family and I -- the only people of color in the store -- entered, we noticed there were several other customers, some clearly much younger than my husband and me. Yet out of everyone there, this employee (Joe S) singled us out to demand identification. He watched us the entire time like we were criminals. When we approached the register, I handed over my driver's license without hesitation. But that wasn't enough -- he demanded to see my husband's ID too. When my husband questioned why, the employee got defensive and launched into a patronizing lecture: "Let me tell you how the law works in North Carolina." I had to cut him off and remind him that we LIVE in North Carolina -- we didn't need a lesson, we needed him to do his job and treat us with basic respect. No one else was questioned or treated the way he treated us. It's not about the ID, I totally understand that. It's the comment he made after he was provided with our identification and the fact that he DID NOT stop and question anyone else that entered the store after us. We were singled out. This was blatant racism. Point blank. Period. It's 2025 and there is absolutely NO PLACE for this kind of behavior in the United States. To the ABC store: Do better. Train your staff. Hold them accountable for treating all customers equally -- not just the ones they feel comfortable with. I sincerely hope no one else has to feel humiliated and targeted the way my family did that day.

But so was every other store. The staff there has always been super friendly and helpful. I don't see any difference in the prices compared to other liquor stores in North Carolina.

I don't really leave reviews for just plain old regular grocery stores all that much but I felt…read morelike it was important for me to leave a review today. I actually had a very good customer service experience today. And I think that is worthy to recognize. The grocery store was packed this morning as would be expected on a Sunday around lunch. I didn't really come in with a plan so I am trying to decide what to make for the week while in there at the same time. As I was walking around there was who I believe to be a manager or so - he was in a pink shirt today - approach me and ask what I was looking for. I told him and he took me straight to it. Later, when I passed by him again, he asked me if I was still good. Then when I went to check out, I had a good experience with Dresden. He was quick, efficient, kind, professional, and did the job well. I appreciate that he was ringing up the order quickly, packing the bags all by himself, and checking to make sure I was cool with it. He is clearly a hard worker and seems to be a great asset to this local HT. All and all, for someone who hates big hall, grocery shopping, I had a good of a time as I could have. I appreciate the customer service that I personally experienced, and that I witnessed the other people experiencing as well. PS I did order a pumpkin spice cold brew from the Starbucks inside - I've never had a pumpkin spice anything from Starbucks - and it was so freaking good.

It's a great grocery store. I had found souvenirs for the people I work with very quickly. I am…read moreglad we decided to stop at this local establishment.
