I was in Quartzsite for the day visiting with a cousin who was camping with friends. We decided to…read moreget away from the touristy traps and see some of the stuff most people don't. It took us quite a while to find it because Yelp showed it further down the road (address now fixed). Once we found it after driving past it several times on Main St we were rewarded with tons of historical information inside and some outside of this partially restored building. The docents were very knowledgeable and ready to talk your ears off about the history of that area of Arizona. Lots of old books and newspaper clippings to read in a couple of the rooms. There is no admission fee but a couple of donation jars and some books for sale to help support the place. We both tossed some money in the jar. It may be small but it is well worth the time to stop by if you are in to history.

It brings back fun memories. Plus the people at the festival are salt of the earth people. I completely love that. Also the vendors were really nice. I got a great burger to eat while I listened. I wad the only one out there and it was simply amazing. Crazy to think that ancient man did that with rocks scraping the earth. If you're in Blythe, stop by for sure, it's worth it. Don't climb over the fence or deface any of it. You can see where it was damaged before it was protected.

There were a lot of food options, although we chose to eat a burger at the Blythe Police League. They did awesome!! So worth the price. The entertainment was so much fun, Gilbert was an amazing juggler, Something Ridiculous made me laugh so much, Sadie was a great balloon sculpturist I completely LOVED the circus show. What amazing talent!! Helm and Sons also brought dinosaurs!! This fair is great for all ages. Love!!!

The garden has a story and is dedicated to the memory of a young girl who passed while living in Quartzsite several years ago. Over time it has transformed into a botanical garden and memorial for those who have passed on with ties to Quartzsite. While walking around the gardens I find the most unique things that people have done for their loved ones. If photography is your thing you will want to bring your camera. If sitting outside and reading is your thing you will want to bring a book. I would not really recommend this to be the place to bring the dog. Directions to get here are: Take Plymouth Rd north from the Town Park and just before you get to the Desert Flyers radio controlled airplane field you will see the signs posted with arrows directing you to the gardens. I went to the club Dec 2 and they did not have the December schedule posted yet and like I said they show no website listed anymore where you could read the latest in club news and find out where the next rock hunting trips will be. The ladies in the office are not very friendly. Don't think I will be renewing my membership next year. 2924-25 will be my last year. Club has definitely gone down hill. Not everyone is on Facebook, so I shouldn't be forced to sign up on Facebook to see the happenings, if that is where the club happenings are.
