I decided i would go here to get the procedure done, but as it turns out. They're pretty backwards. After paying my deposit and the brief once over of my body, i was able to set an appt immediately. They were very good at answering questions and i THOUGHT everything was good to go. They sent me home with a doctor's note to give to my job to take off, and set up and appt. I get a call about 2 days later saying my BMI was too high. After sitting there and me filling out the paperwork, you mean to tell me this wasn't something you couldn't have saw immediately? Additionally, the doctor looked me over and said i'd be a great candidate. After they messed up my first appt by putting me down for a day that they weren't actually available. This actually took the cake. I found later the first place i went to was a little more expensive because you're under anesthesia where as this place is more economical because they dont' put you under. I don't know what others' experiences were like, but i would never go back to ALC. read more

I went to ALC after dealing with stubborn fat areas and not being able to do high cardio workouts due to recent injuries, COVID, and other things. I did this so I would be happy with my body not for someone else. I went to the consult & they answered all my questions and made recommendations on how to have the best results. I had upper and lower abs, flanks and bra fat removed. Recovery has been more work than I anticipated, but any type of invasive procedure will leave you sore. If you're going to have lipo done you really need to do what they tell you to yield the best results. This means the procedure, the post-op and follow up post op lymphatic drainage massages and be ready to wear a garment and take it easy for bit. There are lost-surgical expenses (not by ALC) that you'll incur if you want the best results possible. Not to mention maintaining a healthy lifestyle afterwards. I'm two weeks out and the results are AMAZING already even though I still have swelling. I'm following all the advice/instructions given and my body looks great so far. I'll still have improvements to work on myself, but this got me to a good place mentally. It was scary committing to doing it but I am so happy I did. Next follow up is in 3 weeks. Thank you ALC! *Note* I'm copying a lot of what I wrote on Real Self since I'm kind of lazy. The synopsis is, I think this place is great, affordable, and I'm thrilled with my results. The long version is below, and the even longer version is at Real Self. I was a little nervous getting laser lipo at a place that advertises 50% off but I figured it was worth a free consultation. The office is right off 395 in a non-descript office park. Not at all a posh building but the actual office was a pretty standard spa-like waiting room. I initially talked to a nurse in an office - not an exam room - and discussed my medical history, what I wanted done (abs and flanks = 4 areas) and what my expectations were. She asked me if she could examine the areas right then and there. No robe, just drop trou and get on with it ! It was weird to stand in an office with the nurse behind the desk, so if you're modest this will probably put you off. She did offer to put me in a room and robe to see the doctor but at that point, I didn't care. Dr. Segev's got a 90's California Tv doctor vibe. He's professional and friendly. Since I had very localized fat, he determined that I was a good candidate and might even drop a dress size, but he was conservative with his estimate. The actual procedure was OK. The lidocaine shots hurt but the actual lipo just felt like tugging. He did seem very thorough and I had to stand up and turn over so he could see how it was turning out from different angles. The recovery was also fine, except for the compression garment which I completely hated every minute that I wore it (for 2 weeks, 24 hours a day), but I wanted to make sure I was following their instructions to get the best result. I didn't have any pain or oozing (after the first 24 hours). The area was numb for maybe 4 weeks and still a little swollen. I had the procedure at the end of May and I was so happy with the results then that I was surprised that it would be even better 6 weeks later. Stop Wondering, IF you should go - GO! Doctor Segev is a miracle worker! It was as if he touched me and the fat fell off! The staff that works with Dr. Segev: Myia, Carolina and Mimi are excellent! Your privacy is your privacy! You are among friends, truly! I vowed never to get that sort of work done...too instructive and the fear of something going wrong was always with me. In one visit with Dr. Segev, Myia, Carolina and Mimi, my entire world changed for the better! If you are on the borderline, I am a person that can understand that issue. I was on that 'BORDERLINE' until the day of my 1st procedure! Had my abdomen done. Yes, it was so easy and effective (my abs look GREAT), that at the 6 week check up on my abdomen, I scheduled my 2nd appointment for my thighs! I went from a size 14to a size 10......(I worked out too Ladies, so normally it is only a 2 size reduction).... Yes, I wore my garment like it was going to save my life. I went from looking like I was 5 months pregnant to flat abs, YES, I AM SCREAMING - FLAT ABS Ladies! With the second procedure, my thighs can NOW get into clothes, I'd never imagined. How can I say this....Thank God, Thank Goodness, I found Dr. Segev and his TEAM! You all ROCK! I never knew that these procedures really work! I am over joyed with the results! Dr. Segev and Dr. Hamwiii are fantastic! I was nervous to undergo Smart Lipo, it was something I had thought about but didn't follow through on. Until now, Dr. Segev provided the initial assessment and cautioned on what to expect after the initial procedures. There is some pain involved but nothing that prevented me from doing my daily routine. One week after the procedure I was out running 1-3 miles 3 days a week and getting ready to do my first 5K of 2015. The results are better than I expected and every day I see change as the swelling has decreased. So far I have dropped 1 full clothing size. I now wear a 10 and can also fit in some size 8 clothing. I had a series of six procedures over a three month period. After the first procedure friends and family were wowed by how slender I looked. My hips and abdomen were flatter and I felt better about my appearance. Then I decided on a second set of procedures thinned my calfs and bra line. After three weeks once the swelling decreased along with minimal bruising those areas were taking shape. My last procedures included the flanks and thighs. Through it all I kept an optimistic attitude and was loving the differences I was observing. The changes have been gradual and constant with my body contours continuing to change. It's been four months since those first procedures and I don't regret deciding to do this for myself. They post only good reviews on their site, i wish i never stepped foot in there. If you don't see the results from the first day, don't leave their office. I had laser lipo and they took more fat from the bottom so my upper tummy was hanging over my belly button. The bra line fat, nothing came off. I went back in after 6 months for them to fix it, paid more money for each area, end result was even worse than 1st time. I have puncture black marks all over my back, my left back bra line is bigger than right , upper belly is still hanging over lower which is flat, my sides are uneven, right side is sticking out more, i can't ever wear form fitting clothes again. I worked hard and saved for years to get this done and feel better about myself but instead they ruined me. My body looks disproportionate, uneven and has killed my esteem... i wish the drs had a heart ,to understand we don't come there for fun, but because we trying to feel better about ourselves. You can't charge me over $5000 and have me walking around like i currently do. It's not fair. It's not right... oh btw i got two different drs , same botched job. I pray God gives me the strength to forgive you all someday. I ended up in therapy because of the horrible results from my two procedures. Have a conscience and don't focus on Money only. I am Military male and needed to lose a couple inches to maintain tape standards. I workout everyday but unable to lose the fat on my flanks. I googled a lipo center and this was the first one to pop up and showed there was a discount availiable. I called for an appointment, which was next day. The initial appointment was easy. They had me lose my shirt in the office to look at my fat I wanted to get rid of, which they said I was a good candidate for LaserLipo. I did paperwork and booked my appointments. Two months later, Today, I had my surgery. Military mission dictated the reason for the long wait for surgery. The surgery was uncomfortable pain wise, but nothing extreme. They gave me the outer garment and girdle and now I am recovering. So far, I have no complaints on the process of the office administrators or the Doctor whom performed the surgery, nurse was nice and easy on the eyes. I'm not sure how to feel about this place. I had smart lipo done recently on abdomen and flanks. The experience was horrific. Quite painful during the entire 3 hours and extremely painful the week after. The good news is that I am starting to see results. The bad news is that with all of the pain and discomfort I'm not sure it was worth it. I guess I will reevaluate after a few months. Kara (sales person) was friendly from the first phone call until I paid. I thought it was strange that we spent so much time on the phone and emailing and when I showed up she completely ignored me. That is a minor thing. Also, I had my consultation with dr. Segev but wasn't even told until way after I paid that he wasn't doing the procedure and that a dr that I hadn't met was. That was not cool at all. Dr. Jones was great and I could not have made it without the nurse Ana who was supportive and comforting through the whole procedure. I did a lot of research prior and really feel that my horrific experience was atypical. Most seem to be fine during the procedure and afterward. I really wish that I was given more information before and after. I will update post with results over the next weeks/months. Still not comfortable giving more stars. Because I can see some results I will stick with 3 for now. Update: Follow-up 2.5 weeks later Felt that everyone in office (including Kara) was friendly and warm which made me feel a lot better. Definitely seeing positive results physically, especially compared to the before pics dr. Segev showed me. It's still hard to recommend the procedure but since I'm now looking so great that's probably a little hypocritical:) happy with areas worked on but still too soon to forget the recovery. I am in mid-30s with two kids and tried several ways to put off 25-30 pounds but with little success. I have tried several diet plans where some of them helped me lose up to 10 pounds but I gained back after my second pregnancy. I live a very healthy life style (average food intake of 1200 -1500 cals/day, at least 4 rigorous workouts per week etc.) My husband and I finally decided to try laser lipo after a lot of research, which seemed to be a safer and less invasive method that has good reviews. In my research, I found that Dr. Segev (American Lipo Center) has the best ratings in the area. I had an initial appointment with the nurse and then with the Doctor and they gave me a lot of confidence for the areas where I wanted to lose some fat. We finally decided to shell out $6000 to get three areas done (tummy, sides, thighs). I was told that I could lose up to 15 pounds or more after the surgery if some of the recommendations are followed. There is no doubt that doctor and the staff were very helpful throughout the process, but that was not the point of this whole surgery and expend $6000 of hard earned money from my savings. I went for lymphatic massages at least 6 times after the surgery, as recommended. Post-Surgery: I had few more appointments for post-surgery checks and it took me at least couple of weeks to fully recover and another 45 days or so to stop wearing that uncomfortable clothing day and night. I waited for 3 months or so to give it enough time to heal and see the results, while maintaining my diet, before I wrote any reviews. I personally DID NOT see any good outcome from this laser lipo. I DID NOT lose ANY weight as suggested by the doctor and his team. I wish I had first hand information from someone who went through this whole procedure that could have me a whole lot of pain and saved me $6000. My husband also mentioned to me after 2 months (not on day 1, to save me from disappointment) that the door was slightly open when he was in the waiting area. He overheard the staff in the clinic talking and convincing other unhappy patients. It's likely that I am one of the unlucky ones but I sincerely DO NOT recommend anyone going through this pain unless you have first hand information from people you personally know (and not from references). I had my outer thighs and inner thighs done by Dr. Segev at the Alexandria location a couple of months ago and I LOVE MY RESULTS! I'm 5'3" and 127 lbs, female. I'm active and keep up with a good diet, but I have never been able to target the extra bit of fat on the thigh, and even when I lost weight I could never see changes there. I was tired of having my pants "feather" at the top of my thighs due to my problem areas. When I went in for my consultation, I had a lot of doubts and fears but meeting with the staff at my consult and with Dr. Segev helped me feel very at ease. On surgery day, Dr. Segev was wonderful, answered all my questions, and kept the atmosphere very laid back and it really helped calm my nerves. His nurses Catherine and Ana were so sweet to me during the surgery and helped explain what was happening and reassured me during the process. His other office ladies Kara and Elisa did a great job over the phone and at my consultation of explaining what laser lipo consists of and what to expect during the surgery. They also called me to remind me of my appointments which was very helpful with my crazy work schedule and greeted me warmly any time I came into the office. The surgery itself went really well and was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. It was exactly how the staff had explained to me and I did feel some pokes at times but it was tolerable. I had drainage for only 1 day instead of 2. I actually went to work the very next day (desk job) and was a bit sore moving around but it truly wasn't that bad. I saw some change in those first 2 weeks and my results continued to show as the weeks went by. I'm about 3 months out and I'm just very pleased. My pants fit better and I feel so much more confident in fitted clothes and in a swimsuit. I'll admit that I was scared to finally have the procedure, but I'm so glad I finally did it! I chose this place because they were having a half off promotion and I felt the people were friendly, patient and informative. Other places I checked into would not give price quotes over the phone and consultation was not free. So ALC was reasonable..I went in to get upper and lower abs and flanks. but the Dr. advised against flanks; saying i didn't need that done. Of course I took his advice and I am not happy at all with my results.I had my procedure 8/2014.The actual procedure wasn't painful at all and I think was over pretty quickly. when I got home I didn't drain at all. when I returned for my 4-6 week check-up there was absolutely no change in my appearance and now 6 months later; still no change. I am due to go back in Feb for final result check. This was a total waste of time and money. If you look thru their online photos and in the results books in the waiting area you will see some people who had very subtle changes and I never thought I would be one of those because I didn't have a terribly large stomach to begin with. I did the 6 treatments of drainage massages (which is the very last instruction on the sheet) and it didn't help. Over all I am highly disappointed. read more
