Michelle took care of me yesterday before and after my teeth cleaning and I genuinely enjoyed taking with her at the desk until a waiting patron was behind us. Unfortunately I didn't get to see Marv Thomas who is usually the highlight of my visit i guess even Super Woman has to take a day off every once awhile. Half the time she's the one calling to confirm appointments and while in the office constantly supervising 5+ patients at a time. Coming from someone who has a similar customer service oriented job in Woodbridge it's not easy especially iN the Woodbridge/NOVA market. Believe me. I had a temp do my cleaning and she was pleasant. I have major dental anxiety sometimes and they always accommodate my needs and make me feel so comfortable. I'm only 26 years old and I had my first root canal 6 months ago, I honestly was extremely embarrassed, nervous and a little ashamed. They took care of it no problem. Ellie left me a voicemail saying she was having issues pulling up my information. I call MetLife first and they advised me to have the office call them and gave me another number that was not general customer service, but for providers. I called in and someone identifying herself as the office manager answered. I relayed to her that MetLife said to call them and I was to give them this number. She kept saying I need your member number and I explained nothing had changed other than the plan being COBRA now and I needed to give her this number. Long story short she declined to take the number and said she would just close out the claim, whatever that meant. I felt I needed to bring this to the public's attention. I found out what closing out the claim meant. They just sent me a bill to pay the balance . That balance is the responsibility of my insurer. I also left a message for the Dr Thomas (the dentist that owns the practice) to call me and have not received a return call ( it has been 3 days).

My experience here has been an absolute physical and financial nightmare. Critical Issues Faced:Severe Pain Management Neglect: During a single session, they extracted all of my teeth and placed four titanium posts in both my upper and lower jaws. They refused to prescribe any pain medication, instructing me to use only Tylenol and Ibuprofen. Because of my history with decaying teeth, I have a high tolerance to over-the-counter pain relievers. Even my primary care physician was shocked by their refusal to manage post-surgery pain and stepped in to help.Unprofessional Staff: One of the staff members was repeatedly dismissive and exhibited a highly snippy attitude when I raised concerns.Failed Restoration & Poor Bite Alignment: I specifically asked them to fix my bite before leaving. They refused, and as a direct result, the permanent implants broke within just 8 hours of the procedure.Excessive Travel Burden: Because of their refusal to listen and fix the bite alignment initially, I had to waste an entire day driving 3 hours back to the clinic (6 hours round trip), burning a full tank of gas to fix their mistake.I strongly urge anyone looking into full-mouth restorations to carefully vet the provider and look elsewhere for an oral surgeon who prioritizes patient care and proper post-op management and also implanting wasted another full day of work and over 2 tanks of gasoline because of their mistake is when they had taken out my teeth but apparently they left a point ofmy jaw and after weeks of excruciating pain.... all while they tell me I'm imagining it because there should be no pain is what they said all up until a sharp point of bone stabbed through the roof of my mouth ..... Very impressive first appointment with Dr. Uthman. He has a really warm bedside manner and explains things in a clear and comprehensive manner. Hygienist was also great. No need to fear if you haven't been to a dentist in a while. They are very kind, understanding, and nonjudgmental. Scheduling is kind of weird since the listed business hours aren't fixed. They are open Monday to Saturday, but it seems like Monday and Wednesday are their firm open hours while they may close the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays if there are no appointments. That means there is no one manning the front desk on the days the office is closed (can't make or cancel appointments, no one to answer questions by phone or email). They are open bimonthly on Saturdays (two Saturdays a month), but not every Saturday. They have an online contact form for appointments, but no actual online appointment scheduling such as ZocDoc. That's my main wishlist item for this dental provider. Other wishlist items: make new patient paperwork available on the website to speed up checking in and to get a printout summary of the visit of procedures done at checkout.

The second time, I had to physically go into the office just to make an appointment because I was unable to get the help I needed over the phone. Most recently, I was placed on hold for over an hour. After waiting that long, I spoke with Diana and explained that I wanted to speak with a manager regarding these repeated issues. I was then transferred to someone named Cindy, only to find out that she was not the manager. At that point, I felt as though my concerns were not being taken seriously and that I was being passed around rather than helped. What is especially concerning is that several of my family members and friends are also patients at this office and have experienced similar issues with reaching the office, customer service, and appointment scheduling. This makes it seem as though these are not isolated incidents but rather ongoing problems that need to be addressed. I am sharing this because I genuinely value Dr. Uthman and the care he provides, and I would want him to be aware of what patients are experiencing when trying to contact the office and schedule appointments. The quality of care may be excellent, but the customer service and communication from the office need significant improvement. Patients should not have to wait on hold for 30 minutes to over an hour--or have to walk into the office--just to schedule an appointment. However, I began experiencing pain from that tooth and attempted to contact the office for assistance. Despite having medical clearance from my OB/GYN, confirming that it is safe for me to undergo routine dental care during pregnancy, the office refused to see me solely because I am pregnant. Additionally, when I requested a copy of my X-ray so I could seek treatment from another dentist, the office stated it would take a few days because they "have stuff to do", delaying my ability to receive timely care. The front office personnel said her name was Kelly although I'm not sure if she gave her real name. I still haven't received a copy of my X-ray to take to another dentist who was willing to see me. We were trying to minimize another X-ray since I just took one but the office is uncooperative. The front office staff were extremely unprofessional and rude during my interactions. They repeatedly hung up the phone on me and refused to provide a clear explanation for the refusal. I had to use another phone number for them to pick up my phone. I believe this behavior was unjustified, discriminatory, and unprofessional, and does not meet the standards expected of licensed dental professionals

From the paperwork all the way to the night guard at the end. They replaced both of my front teeth with crowns and used some new fangled high tech scanner computer to take 3-D scans of my teeth for the process. But it's not just this procedure that stands out. I mean, they came out better than I expected by far. But. I have been seeing Dr. Toyer and Dr. Toyer and their team for five years now. I can't remember a single doctors office ever that I've felt more at home. Everyone knows you by name. The pride Dr. Toyer takes in his work is evident from the start to the finish. And he's real hip too. Completely up to tomorrow on the newest tech to make your procedure a breeze. Oh and they do amazing with pediatrics. My toddlers love going to see them! My daughter had a major procedure done here today and Evie, Aritza and two other ladies (I don't recall their names) made it so amazingly smooth.
