Geoff is our clients' lender, and he had gone MIA for a majority of the transaction, because he had COVID. Of course it is unfortunate for him, but he never handed the file off to someone else, or told us who our point of contact should be. There have been a few times where we had to actually call RANLife corporate office to ask for a manager, or see if a manager could get someone to at least return a phone call / email / etc. We keep running into hurdles with this file on the lending side, and nothing is done until the last minute. The borrowers have signed loan docs over the weekend, so there was absolutely no reason this transaction shouldn't have been able to fund and record today. Now, of course at the last minute, a new issue has come up. The buyers of this home have been upset the entire time, as they have had a hard time getting in contact with the lender, too... and each time we get one step closer to the end, there is something new that pops up. They even mentioned that the reason they chose RANLife, was because it was going to save them money. With the amount of delays, it has ended up costing them more than what they have had to come up with with their previous lender. In my real estate career, I have never had a transaction like this. The amount of things that have delayed this, has been shocking. This was supposed to close on September 3, 2021. We are now in October. This has been an embarrassment for all parties involved, as we keep getting: no answers; no communication; no hustle to close. RANLife has completely made us look bad on our end. I would never recommend this company.

We used her when we purchased our home, and again recently; when we refinanced. In fact, she called us, to say that there was a new mortgage program with a very low interest rate and LENDER-PAID MORTGAGE INSURANCE! We refinanced to a 15 year amortization, & because the lender was paying our PMI our payment stayed nearly the same. Karen has been doing this for a long time. I felt like she was very knowledgeable, and this helped keep us well-informed. There were no "surprises along the way.
