I appreciated the flexibility (I could go anytime during their open hours) vs. the commitment that would be required with a part-time job. Recently, I decided to look into plasma donation again as a way to "do something" for others, and to get some extra spending money for an upcoming vacation. I did a quick Google search and I was excited to find that there is now a location in Bloomington. Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed. The location is large, well-lit and very clean (a bit different from what I remember from their St. Paul location so many years ago). The process is quite efficient, and you can donate in roughly 45 - 90 minutes (thought allow 2.5 - 3 hours for your first donation so that you can go through the sign-up and medical screening process). Also, for that first donation, be sure to bring 3 forms of identification (for me, I brought my driver's license, my social security card, and a piece of direct mail that had my name and address on it), and I think one of those IDs must be your social security card and another must be a state-issued photo ID. Also, if you have donated in the past under a different name, you'll need to bring proof of the name change (I needed to bring my marriage certificate). In terms of compensation, the payment incentives vary. But, currently, you are paid $50 for each of your first 5 donations, and you can donate up to 2 times in a 7-day period. You are compensated via a Visa debit card that is loaded after each donation. If you're looking for a great way to do something for others while also making money, this is a great option. As the CSL Plasma website states, "plasma is the key ingredient for products crucial to treating patients suffering from a host of life-threatening conditions, including hemophilia, shock or trauma, immune deficiencies, and other blood disorders."

I didn't get appointments because they don't make appointments and he's very busy and he was very patronizing rude. And I will never go back there again. I'd rather go out of my way to go to another clinic. I do not understand what the point of having an appointment system on there Website is? I will never trust my healthcare to a place that treats their patients like that. That's absurd. There's no amount of money that would make me want to donate anything to a place like that.

Friday I did physical questionnaire, videos and when I did the blood draw my hemocrit was off so I had to come back yesterday(Sunday) came in early to noon appointment and I was last to leave after 4 pm. You can donate in honor of a specific Mayo patient that needs blood, which will then give them free blood (you don't even have to match blood types! they'll get what they need, just because you gave).

I went to donate my 70th or so pint of blood at Memorial Blood Centers - Eden Prairie location…read more The appointment is easy to make and I was nicely greeted at the door. Target used to bring them onsite in downtown Minneapolis, but since COVID, I have had to go to branch locations. I have been to the Bloomington location, but I usually go to Eden Prairie. Fill out the questionnaire before you go to save about 5-10 minutes. You get there for a pre-screening where they test your iron, blood pressure and temp. Then they take you to the back and it is about 10 minutes for me after sitting in the lounge donation chair and I finish. The team members drawing blood are always very nice and after donating, they have a nice waiting room where they would like you to sit and have some snacks after donating to make sure you don't faint or anything. I usually have a couple Diet Cokes and a bag or two of white cheddar popcorn. They have lots of cookies and plenty of beverages on hand as well. An easy way to donate your time for life giving resources.

I have donated here three times and have recommended it to others. But what I really like are the people. They build a loction 3 minutes from my house so I figured why not! I go there and the first thing they see is they had it that my vines were inadequate. They checked my vains and magical there's nothing wrong! So im able to donate. It wasnt until 4 months later and my protein gets retested the Mankato location claims I had gotten a new tattoo! I have proof of my 2 latest tattoos being done in 2017 and 2018! And they documented i had a new tattoo in 2015 when I lasted donated! If I had a new tatoo the last time I donated how could I had donated? Make it make sense! And last time I checked faulse documenting is a crime!
