They say qe hVe 40 days to deliver but i think we are going to MD and then to you, so may be 3 or 4 days. I got my belongings 4 days later. I slept in hotel 2 nights and would have stayed with family and thdn slept on floor 2 nights. The driver of tru k came in fot boxes, like tv box and he dumped my canopy metal bed and scratched my floor up.in my bedroom. I almost threw him out! DECEPTIVE AND DISHONEST American Relocation provided me a quote for $1994 for 300 cubic feet of items. Our actual items ended up being half of the items that the quote was based on and by actual measurements totaled 135 cubic feet. On the day of pickup, a single driver in a rented U-Haul arrived, sent a few photos, and suddenly we were told we were "100 cubic feet over" the 300 cubic feet limit with no measurement or explanation provided. We were pressured to pay an extra $750, which was then "discounted" to $500. This demand came from a different company entirely (Moving Prime), who emailed me a new contract on the spot. They only wanted to take Paypal or Venmo, which is basically cash. This was the final straw for me and we refused to work with them. I have twice emailed the company and they continue to claim that 135 cubic feet of items would take up 400 cubic feet of space when placed in a truck by a "professional" mover --despite the fact that everything fit into a single U-Haul U-Box container (257 cubic feet) with room to spare. This company misrepresents volume, offloads jobs to other companies without clear disclosure, and creates confusion around overages to squeeze extra money from customers at the last minute. We hired America Relocation in February, securing a discount for booking early. The initial estimate was 75 boxes, and we had flexibility with our move date. However, our situation changed when my husband had to relocate to Michigan for school, leaving my children and me behind to sell our house. We thought it was fortunate because now we able to move without Mark having to take extra unavailable time off. After receiving an offer on our house we arranged for the movers to arrive on September 30th, with October 1st as the backy up date. Just days before the move, the subcontracted company called with an unusual request to move immediately. We had to declined because I was not ready yet. The actual company called and updated the inventory. Which jumped the price up another 3 k.l despite getting rid of a ton of stuff. When I told him about the subcontracted company calling to change my date he expressed outrage for off the phone and fired the subcontractor they had hired for our move. Unbeknownst to us, this voided our original contract and promises. The parent company conducted a new inventory, astonishingly increasing our estimated cost from $4,000 to $12,000 due to 180 boxes instead of 75. Panicked, we held a garage sale to reduce our belongings. They told us along the way to pack everything into big boxes including books because (we won't be moving them ourselves and they count the boxes.) They also weigh the truck and measure space used. On moving day, the movers conducted another inventory, and despite our efforts, the estimated cost remained between $8,000 and $12,000. We were unable to pay this amount. With the house closing imminent, we reluctantly allowed them to load our reduced furniture and boxes. The new contract stated delivery would take 7-21 business days, contrary to our original agreement. Fifteen days have passed, and our truck has not arrived. I've expressed my dissatisfaction to the moving company, but they refuse to acknowledge any wrongdoing denied and any form of compensation. We strongly advise against hiring America Relocation due to their deceptive practices, lack of transparency, and poor customer service. I can see areas of shady business. When they gave me the total of the move at the end of loading the truck, it was the total of what was due to be split up between pickup and dropoff. It did not include the downpayment 1800 or the 2500 first payment. Infact it was all verbal and they had me sign and date it with the time. Saying that they would fill in all the other info later. Turns out the other info was the total amount and he breakdown. They literally called me up into the darkest part of the house to sign the contract. I don't know if it was on purpose, but it was noticable afterwards. I would never have booked them if I had known the price was going to go from 3700 something to 10 k. With most of our belongings sold off at the last minute. And with the 7-21 business days to deliver. It is in the new contract, very tiny and blurry. However I was not told that the original contract I had signed with the parent company was no longer being worked with until moving day. If this is for American Relocation & Storage Services LLC, they are definitely SCAM. I was roped into the move to NC as well for $1650 for 300 cubic feet. Too good to be true! I booked a move from CA-NC back in early December. Of course they give you 3 days to cancel but I thought I was ahead of the game by getting my January move booked early. 2 days before my move date they call to do the inventory list. They want an additional $500 to add additional items as a "revision fee". I said well then let me just go back to my original list given at time of booking and I won't add anything and they still wanted to charge me $500 to not make the revisions. "Mark"- a total jerk, was deliberately vague when asking questions, super rude, talking over me, hung up on me twice when I told him to please let me finish talking before interrupting me he told me I needed to calm down and hung up. "Chris" who I booked my move with deliberately lied to me when I asked specifically if this company were brokers. Of course there is a text of me asking, but he called me back and never responded via text. They are in fact brokers. The moving company they were using called "Loadrans" has a B- rating on the BBB and no google or yelp ratings to look at reviews. Again "Mark" being super vague in even giving that information. So somehow my move was quoted at $1650 in December when I was under 300 cubic feet and went up to $3300 when adding an extra 170 cubic feet (their calculations, not mine) and $500 to change the list of items. "Mark" would get extremely defensive when I brought up this being a scam. And Eeven hung up on me when I said I was having a bad feeling and was thinking maybe I should cancel. "Lexi" the customer service manager completely backed "Mark"'s deplorable behavior and attitude and had one herself. They did nothing to try to keep me as a customer because why would they, they got $650 deposit and can continue to scam away. When it sounds like it's "too good to be true" it usually is. I was looking at a long distance move and the Uhaul was going to cost over $5,000. After searching for more affordable options, I found a website offering affordable moving options This was "Verified Movers" https://verifiedmovers.com/. Prominent disclaimer on their website that they receive money for referrals to the various movers and receive commissions on moves. This company is part of the scam. When I was put in touch with Brinks Moving(https://brinksmoving.com/)... they offered me a "full service move" for $2,300 that included gas and a crew of 3 to load and drive and unload the truck. I informed Jeremy(direct 754-778-5854) that I needed the equivalent of a 16 foot moving truck and he typed up my estimate to a little over $2,300 and said not to worry if it's over the listed amount because there's plenty of room and they'll take care of me. Jeremy is very smooth and I now see that he is very good at what he does and he definitely knows what he's doing in taking advantage of people seeking help in moving. I provided Brinks Moving with my routing and account information on 10/25/22 to process a deposit for a move that was supposed to take place on 10/30/22. On 10/27/22, after being warned that this company was a scam and doing research online confirming that they are a scam, I called to cancel the service and they said that their 72 hour cancellation policy doesn't apply in my case because it was agreed upon inside of one week. I was bounced around to other people and asked for a manager and given the run around. The e-check then posted to my account for payment to "American Relocation & Storage services Llc". I would like to formally express my dismay with the service I was given on 2/1/21. While the movers were nice, I'm not satisfied with how the day went and would like to speak with someone in a leadership position who could help. The movers were late by 3-5 hours due to snow. BUT The only reason I knew that is because I called to find out where they were at AFTER 3pm which is when my time frame expired. Had I not called I wouldn't have known anything. When I called, it was "I don't know what to tell you I'm sorry" with no comment about me wasting my time waiting on them although they knew they would be late. I took off work so could not reschedule which is what the men constantly were asking me to do. Also, the building I moved out of closed at 6pm which caused me to have to go back there to give the key back. That's gas and time out of my day. They called 2 hours after my time frame end to say they were 25 minutes away. The driver kept going to the incorrect address although I kept telling him the proper one and the name and color of the building and the buildings my apartment is next to. After calling twice he threatened to cancel the job and "just go home cuz I'm tired". Saying he was tired As if I was not also tired from waiting ALL DAY for them to come just for them to be hours late. My appointment was 1-3p and they showed up finally at 615pm. Once they got here they complained about having to move a one bedroom apt which is what I said I would have to move initially. I then kept getting what they "don't do" - we don't take bags, we don't use this tape, we need to repack xyz. Most I went along with because I wanted to get it over with however the complaining after being HOURS late was not cool. AT ALL. They said they brought an extra man for compensation, however I was then charged for 2 extra hours at the end when the job didn't take that long. It took 2 hours to load the truck at the apartment and about one hour and 30 to unload at the house. They explained that my contract was for three hours of labor and one hour of travel time (4 hours). However I was charged for 5 hours of labor and one hour of travel time (6 hours). None of the furniture was damaged at least from what I can tell so far. So that's the one good thing. read more

I have a move coming from Wisconsin to Florida and never had movers move me before. I usually do it myself, but because of health issues I had to find someone to do it for me. I tried to use this company. I talked to Mark Welsh and set everything up...next comes the issues. It was $1748.00 and I paid $630 for a deposit. Now I don't have much of nothing to move literally just a dresser nightstand TV my computer chair and maybe 15 boxes medium sized. They didn't add my TV and said it since it was a long dresser and not a tall one and that since I didn't add my TV, that is an additional $500. This was told to me in the pre pick-up phone appointment today. My things were supposed to get picked up on the 30th of January. How do they have the nerve to charge me $500 when I won't be taking up 300 cubic feet of the truck?! I can't get a refund of my deposit but I can get a credit to use for up to 3 years from now on a booking that I'd still have to pay $1748.00 for...they will credit my deposit of $630 to put toward the booking. Now I have to throw everything away, I can't afford to rent a truck nor am I physically able to move my things myself. I've been utterly and totally taken advantage of and I will NEVER TRUST MOVING COMPANIES AGAIN. $630 down the drain! This is insane and cruel. When the truck arrived the loaders advised us that our stuff was actually closer to 1,000 cubic feet. We have been trying to resolve a simple issue with our estimate for the last hour now. Ernie (or maybe it was Eric) told us we would receive a call within one hour from the sales rep we talked to (Shane), I called the company back almost 2 hours later (had to hide my caller id before they would answer) and was told very rudely that the ONLY way to resolve our problem was to go through e-mail. The customer service was absolutely terrible. The first representative I talked (Eric) to gave me a quote, and made some promises (that two months of storage would be free, etc..) Then he went radio silent. I couldn't get an answer out of him, and the move date was getting closer. I finally got an answer from another representative (Russ), who told me that the original guy had lied about several things. The cost turned out to be more than twice what the first guy said. (Never trust a quote if they haven't come to your house and looked at your stuff.) A second month of storage cost $750 and couldn't be pro-rated. Resolving item breakage turned out to be more work than it was worth. The worst thing is that it was impossible to get answers out of them about dates. We had a specific move date, and we told them what it was weeks in advance. They jerked us around and finally showed up on the date we needed. But why the runaround? When we moved into our new home and were ready to have our stuff out of storage, it took two weeks of badgering them to actually get it delivered. The movers did a lousy job of putting my furniture (which they had taken apart) back together, ruining one piece and forcing us to run to IKEA for a lost part for another. My plans changed 3 times and each time they were very helpful and got it done quickly and without hassle. On Friday September 1st I contacted the company requesting a quote which was completed, details of the inventory at my apartment were provided and information for an additional stop at my storage unit were provided. Very detailed information was provided number of boxes at unit and apartment. The quote was emailed to me, I emailed the person back with detailed questions about what would change the quote price. The person gave me a call (sneaky to not email me) saying this quote includes the items in the storage unit and I would be advised either Sunday before pick up or on pick up day a better idea of when my items would be delivered. My quote total was $ 2,350.17. I got a call on Sunday confirming pick up, I confirmed yes. After all my items were picked up on Monday, the foreman told me that he checked in the system, my items would be delivered the next day after noon and I would get a call later today with a confirmation. No call came, I got an updated quote that increased over $1,100 more. I was furious. I called and spoke to a manager who told me it was based on weight, then the total was not correct and made it seem like they were giving me a "discount". I asked to speak to a supervisor, I spoke with a supervisor who called me a liar that the foreman never said that then back peddled in an email to me, refused to provide an additional discount for inconvenience saying it was DOT regulations. I was given false promises set by the company, stress of move, lack of commitment from the company's employees, failure to listen to me; the customer for the quote, not fully answering my questions., and setting false expectations. This company blames it customers and does not take ownership for its mistakes. I fear during the delivery of my items there will be retaliation taken. I should've read THESE reviews, instead of the Google reviews. Because there's a lot of commonalities. Bad customer service, promising you one thing on the phone, then switching on you and telling you something different in the contract later on. Moving is stressful enough and these jerks don't seem to appreciate that and possibly take joy and making others' lives worse. My representative was Michelle and when we first spoke about my move, she told me on the phone that there was an "18 day guarantee... doesn't mean it will take that long though! It may very well arrive sooner.". Come to find out, it's 18 BUSINESS days. It was a total bait and switch. They say something better than what it actually is on the phone to get you to use the service. She also told me, their drivers drive on weekends so why it's business days, doesn't make sense. A couple days after my items were picked up, I received a call from another woman at their office asking what was the earliest day it could be delivered because they had a truck it could go out on that week. I told her that was great! My earliest delivery day was that Friday. I called to check in on my items a week later and they had no idea what I was talking about. Michelle assured me that no one would have said that. So she insinuated that I was the liar. There was another call or two in there of me trying to check on the ETA of my items. I was given the runaround and told to call back later. I started getting worried, it was a total scam and they had stolen my items. They also put me on hold 14 times every time I called. They'd put me on hold, then come back and go 'Hello, oh hi! Yeah, hold on one minute." WTH?? They were disorganized and unprofessional. Finally, I called 3 weeks after my items had been picked up. Michelle then told me it was an 18-21 business day guarantee. Which was not correct. She backtracked and admitted she was wrong on this but good lord, get it together! She then just kept talking quickly and over me and just referring to the contract. I understand I should have read it more thoroughly. But come on, you know what you're doing. That means--what you're really saying is--I shouldn't have trusted what you told me on the phone... You are not trustworthy, clearly. I didn't say any of this to her, because I didn't get the chance to get a word in. She then hung up on me as soon as she said everything she wanted to to pass me off to the driver. I tried to speak but she literally just *CLICK* HUNG UP ON ME. Do not use this service. They have insane amounts of competition. You'll pay a little more. But if I could go back, I'd pay a couple hundred more to know I could trust the people moving my valuables. Aside from the people in the office, one of the guys who came to pick up my things was very careless. At one point, he picked up a box I had written "EXTREMELY FRAGILE" with arrows all over the box showing which way was up. He lugged it off the ground and put it sideways to his chest. I pointed out to him that he was handling my fragile items carelessly. So I'm honestly assuming a bunch of my things will also arrive damaged. YAY. So glad we paid $2,000 for this cr** service. TLDR; - Don't use this company to save money. Pay more knowing you'll have peace of mind. - They're super nice and helpful right up until they have your money. It's a total bait and switch. - Careless movers who handle your fragile items like they have feet for hands. This has been the worst customer service experience I have had in a long time. The original estimate was reasonable, and I verified with them multiple times the exact items going and that all of it would be, and would fit in, a 5x10 storage unit. They called me a few days before the move and said they would show up a day early. I waited past the given time but they were a no-show. I called and they said, no, we will be there tomorrow. This happened for a couple of days. Eventually the movers showed up three days late and an hour past the given time. They packed up my stuff then gave me a bill that was about $900 more than the estimate. I had no choice but to pay, since I had to be out of the unit. I called the company and was told there was nothing I could do. I then flew to FL and have been waiting for my possessions to show up. I have called the company repeatedly to ask for an ETA, and each time, a dispatchers tells me they will call me back as soon as they talk to the dispatcher from the trucking company. Not one call back. I re-read my contract and saw that, according to them, if the movers on the day of the move think you have more stuff or have a higher estimate, they can either agree to the move and charge 10% at the time, OR make an agreement with the customer and bill the full amount 30 days later. Neither of those were offered by the movers OR by the rep at All American I spoke to. I called and left a message with the billing department regarding this issue and, not suprisingly, have not gotten a reply. And not the biggest truck Budget has to offer, to move 500 boxes and two bedrooms worth of furniture, plus some other pieces. They were to be responsible for disassembling the furniture and packing the artwork. But we had all those 500 boxes packed and ready to go. I show the guys around, and geez, the they freak out, and one of them is on the phone constantly talking to someone about this. Obviously it's not all going to fit. And only two guys....how many days are they going to be here? ARS sent New Beginnings Relocation. After a few hours of packing up the furniture, they said they were going to leave for the day and would be back in the morning. We agreed on 7am. Next day, no one arrived at 7am, nor 8am. So, I had talked with the van driver upon their arrival into town, so I texted him. No response. I called, and he picked up. He said, they were not coming back and were on their way to Portland (PDX)! So, they totally ditched the job and left me without a moving company. I was able to scramble and get things picked up by Allied Van Lines (local) - but, a day late, we were able to move out. Bottom line, do not use American Relocation Services, nor New Beginnings Relocation. Neither is reliable nor skilled in what they do. It cost me $1,900 to figure this out. read more

Finding a reliable long distance moving company can be a stressful experience if you haven't had to use one prior. I moved from NYC to Miami 3 years ago, and I hired another long distance mover based on their BBB ratings. Unfortunately my experience left me without any of my furnitures, bedding, clothings, for a full 2 months because I went with the lowest price company who offered many promises and delivered 2 months later with all my furnishings broken in pieces and additional $500 hidden fees. I paid a total of $3000 while left with $0 value. With American Relocation Service, the gentleman who spoke on the phone offered me a thorough explanation with step by step instructions in terms of what I have in the way of Large furniture so he can provide me with a proper quote (with no extra hidden fees unlike the previous company I used). He also explained in details that his company is comparable to all the reputable ones such as Allied, with a much lesser price while surpassing the quality that these other big companies offer with their hefty price tags. I explained to him my poor experience in the past, and he relieved me by giving me the insights of why many moving companies use a bait and switch technique with offering extraordinarily low price only to then insert hidden charges in the end. His company gave me the proper price for an outstanding service. One that I will continue to recommend to all my friends and family to come should they need a reputable long distance mover. Thank you for your honest business practice and for standing by your words in terms of delivering the most hassle free long distance moving experience ever. You restored my hope in dealing with long distance movers. I highly recommend anyone who is looking for a sound and reputable company to at least have a conversation with the team of American Relocation so you can see for yourself of why they stand above the rest. read more

I ended up with multiple broken items but I already knew dealing with the company was useless. I had yard items (weed whacker, shovels, and rakes...) that were switched out with another customers belongings. The delivery people tried to drop off furniture to my house that wasn't mine. When my washer was plugged in it was broken, it worked fine when the company packed it up. Disgusting company, pick another. read more

Shane Roberts....if that's his real name...will promise you everything, he will say anything to get your business, but it's a a lie. He will collect the deposit from you (and that's all he cares about) and leave you hanging. Gave the wrong list to the company that was actually doing the job (yup! They are just middle men, they won't do any of the actual job) i contacted them via email (they don't have a phone number for customer service. They only have this number 914-893-4282 that they will use to bother you and that's it! Once they got the deposit they won't answer! You can contact them by email. So you get caught between loosing your deposit and get someone else, or go through the process and suck it up. Stay away from this guys. read more

Very unhappy with my experience with American Relocation. Used the service to move my items from DC to the Boston area. They were not upfront in detailing all the costs associated with the move. While I was given an initial estimate, I was not aware of the additional costs associated with the move. I was charged more money for each box used as well as the use of packaging materials (such as moving blankets and tape). The extra costs amounted to an extra around $400 (the original estimate was $1300). I felt blind-sighted and taken advantage of. In addition to these issues, I also had problems with the moving process. While the actual movers were very kind and helpful, the customer service representatives started out very helpful but then became unresponsive as it got closer to the end of my delivery window. My delivery eventually came a day after the end of the estimated delivery day. I was told I'd be made aware of an impending shipment 2-3 days ahead, but I was given less than 24 hour notice. Additionally, some things in my shipment arrived slightly damaged (felt pads on my glass tabletops removed; one frame broken). Overall, I'm very unhappy with my experience with American Relocation. I have moved many times in my life and this is by far the worst moving experience that I've ever had. I had a baby grand piano moved. On arrival at my new home, there was only two men. Two men to pick up and safely move a 600 pound instrument. They had to ask my husband to help them. They were wholly unequipped to handle such a large instrument but while booking this company we were assured that they "move pianos all the time." They were able to bring the piano onto the porch and attempted to bring it into the house when the floor promptly broke. There was too much weight on one of the dolly wheels and not enough men to lift the piano. One of the movers stated, "the floor is too old. It may damage the floor. Otherwise it's too heavy.." We suggested placing it on the porch after they stated that they wouldn't be able to bring it inside. Then later same mover later claimed that they had brought the piano fully into the house and was 6 feet away from the living room when my husband changed his mind and had them bring it out to the porch. This is incorrect and we have proof on our Ring doorbell/camera. This company is the WORST moving company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I am currently filing a claim for the return of my deposit for my move. My items were never picked up and they kept the deposit. This is actually a Breach of Contract. Information on how to file a claim: Myfloridalegal.com...This is the Florida Attorney General's office which has to look into complaints. When you get to the website go to the grey box for general complaints. Very easy. If the move is state-to-state, please call the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration at 888-368-7238. Also, if American Relocation Services are holding your belongings "hostage", call the local police department where they are holding your items. Once law enforcement gets involved it becomes a legal matter. It is also a legal matter once an attorney is retained. Also, it looks like Shawn has been part of the fraudulent events in most of our claims. He can be held responsible as well. I hope this helps! read more

We believed we were with the best company with these folks. Alex, our contact, assured us we could receive our deposit back, due to court proceedings that had been unforeseen. This company refuses to respond or contact me back about an issue resulting in the moving company not showing up to move my home. Dozens of emails and phone calls have been made to this company and refuses to provide any communication, address for letters, telephone number for support (other than their automated line). I would not recommend this company to anyone. Not only did they not communicate their policy states that a home owner may change their move date, cancel the move and still not lose their deposit if the move is rescheduled withing a certain time. How about the movers don't show up after an email request (only way to communicate with them) was sent to change the move date one month prior to the move, with an email confirmation that the date was changed. Shouldn't the deposit be refunded then? It's not like I am asking for additional money, the services were not provided, all rules were followed, but my deposit is still being held. I received one email from someone advising they would contact me back the following Monday with some information....low and behold no one contacted me back. After months of back and forth all I want is my deposit back or an address that I can use to file small claims paperwork. 1000.00 is a large enough deposit I'm not willing to let it go. The addition of having to move my home the evening before the new owners were taking possession because of a mistake by ARS to me warrants my attention to resolving this matter. Please don't make the mistake I did and hire a broker like this company to handle your moving affairs. Call the movers direct, negotiate with them in person, these guys are a scam. read more

This was without a doubt the worst move I have ever had. I was repeatedly reassured that they offered full service moves. The guys arrived and they only had 3 blankets, some boxes, and moving tape (which is different than box/storage tape). They weren't able to wrap anything - not glasses, not my expensive air purifiers, not my pictures, nothing! They kept trying to put stuff in boxes, secured by only one small piece of that cheap, thin moving tape, and then they kept trying to pile heavy boxes on top of partially empty boxes with fragile items in them. Luckily I had some boxes and packing materials, but for most of the time I was packing items by myself and two guys were looking at me, while a third packed the truck. That brings me to the second issue - they weren't able to get everything in the truck. They ran out of boxes and room in the truck. I have moved several times over the past 10 years and I have roughly the same amount of stuff. This is the first time all my stuff hasn't been moved. It was devastating to have to leave so much stuff - I ended up having to have a junk crew throw away half the items in my kitchen, including appliances, clothes, and personal items. And then, once we got to the storage unit, they didn't pack the unit well. They didn't use the height of the unit and stack the items well. I've had teams leave a small walkway to the back of a unit so I can go in and access stuff - this crew could barely get everything in! It ended up taking a little over 7 hrs, and I still had to throw away a lot of stuff that didn't get moved. The best part - the crew boxed another storage customer in and then got into an argument with the. That took about 10 min, and coincidentally, they were 10 min over 7 hrs. I was not prorated or given a grace period for this. I would not recommend this mover. I explained to them I wasn't even looking for the cheapest option, but someone who could handle a full service move smoothly. This was a disaster. read more

This is the worst moving company. Took 43 days for delivery. I had to call the police to get them to deliver. They went through my boxes and stole my nice shoes, hoverboard, birdbath, ottoman, bar stools, and who knows what else. My furniture arrived damaged. I'm missing boxes and received someone else's things. In addition, they overcharged by $1000. Really horrible. I am grateful to have received what I did of my items, I figured they would have stole everything. read more
