This place was recommended to me from contractor. I was at a different rental place and that place didn't have the power washer that I needed. I gave these guys a call and they had exactly what I was looking for. I found it super convenient that their location, is even closer to where I live. I went there and met with an awesome employee, and he was able to test the MA Hine right in front of me. He even allowed me to select from a couple of options for the attachments for the machine. This is, by far, the nicest and most helpful tool rental place I've ever patronized. I chose American initially because they had the cheapest price for the tool I needed - come to find out the service was excellent, too. I don't know why but tool rental shops often seem to have surly attitudes (e.g Ace). American Rental is a wonderful exception to that rule. read more

This place certainly has improved ever since the rude and angry co-owner retired. I go there at least three times per month to rent various types of machines and equipment. This lady would ask to see my drivers license every single time, even though she obviously remembered me. They still do the same process but I can understand that there is someone new at the front desk. Now this place just seems like a happier place. They are fast when testing and proving you what you need, and I've never experienced any long wait. That is important for the type of job I have- always on the go! Agree with other posters. The help is what sets them apart. Some places seem grumpy that you've disturbed them or that you're unfamiliar with what you're renting. They have pretty much anything a DIY homeowner could need. read more

The owner was extremely helpful and gave me tons of advice and service with a smile. I ve use American rental for years from their Annandale location for pressure washer, roto-tiller, plumbing snake, etc. The equipment has always been well maintained, started easily(if applicable) and the rental price is reasonable.
