I regret not being able to fulfill the 3 day (verbal agreement) free trial, as I was recommended to go else where/denied service for seeking to grieve some concerns or complaints (with that of Freedom of Speech but without slander, as such was in my opinions). But, been at the other gym for a couple of months and doing okay, it's getting a little more busy now. But still a spacious/clean gym with great amenties for such a great price, even points are given when I check into to get discounts or freebies as a smoothie at the juice bar. Been meaning to do rock climbing but did use the Jacuzzi/pool and looking forward to using there indoor courts and even recently been getting a tan with also a chair massage and then will be trying to be more active in there group classes that focuss on a variety of things. The outside B.B.Q. for socials with outside work out strongman station and dip bar then a punching bag with chin up bars are a nice extra too.

Lifetime Folsom is not a gym... it's a full-blown civilization…read more Met a friend here for a workout, and since she's not a member, we had to do the whole guest pass process first. You know... the "tap here, sign here, acknowledge that squats may humble you today" routine. But I've got to give credit where it's due -- the front desk made it ridiculously easy. They were handling a phone call and getting my friend squared away at the same time, and somehow still made it all look smooth. No chaos, no confusion, no "uhhh let me get my manager." Just straight-up professionalism. The second we walked in, she looked around and said, "Is this a city or a gym?" I said, "Honestly... both." Because Lifetime Folsom is not for the weak or the directionally challenged. This place has everything. Pool, spa, cafe, workout floors, recovery zones, pickleball, tennis, locker rooms that feel fancier than some apartments... at one point I'm pretty sure if you turn the wrong corner you accidentally enroll in a wellness retreat. And my favorite part? The confidence people have before a workout. She came out of the locker room with that movie trailer energy like, "Alright, let's do this." Looking at me like, "Bring it." And I did. I coached her through the workout, and for the first 20 minutes she was hanging in there strong. Then somewhere around that 1 hour and 30 minute mark, the spirit left the body. By the end, the look had changed from "I got this" to "I would like to formally unsubscribe." And honestly? Respect. Because the workout was solid. We laughed the whole time, had great conversation, and got after it. That's what I love about Lifetime -- whether you're going hard or just trying to survive the stair climber without seeing your ancestors, it somehow still feels fun. After we wrapped up, we grabbed our stuff and headed to the cafe because recovery was no longer optional. She needed a pick-me-up, and honestly, probably a new set of legs. We grabbed shakes, sat down, and started coming back to life. Then out of nowhere she goes, "Ummm... tacos?" And I looked at her like she had just spoken the Lord's language and said, "Yes." Then she hits me with, "I got the spot. Follow me." Now THAT is elite leadership. So basically this place gave us: a killer workout, laughs, smoothies, and the launching point for Taco Tuesday. What more do you want from a gym? A zip code? Actually... Lifetime might already have one. In all, Lifetime Folsom continues to prove it's way more than just a gym. It's an experience. It's a fitness amusement park. It's where confidence goes to get tested and where post-workout taco plans are born. And honestly... that's beautiful.

FYBA is basically pretend basketball. It's plagued by inconsistently applied, bizarre rules. all…read morethe other reviews are 100% accurate. It seems to be a cash cow for somebody though. I hope they are making tons of money ripping kids off from a quality basketball experience.

Title: Deeply Flawed League with Zero Accountability…read more I enrolled my children in the Folsom Youth Basketball Association (FYBA) with the hope of providing them with a fun, fair, and developmental basketball experience. Unfortunately, what we've encountered instead is a disorganized, unbalanced, and poorly managed league that has ignored serious concerns from parents. 1) Extreme Skill Disparities & Unethical Drafting Practices The league claims to be a "recreational" program, yet it is clear that many teams are anything but. There are massive disparities in skill levels between teams, which makes for constant lopsided games. I have attached photos from three different games where the point differential exceeded 30+. This is not a rare occurrence--it is the norm. In a phone conversation with an FYBA representative, I was informed that some coaches actively game the drafting system to ensure that the best players end up on their teams. These unethical tactics include: Players intentionally tanking their evaluations to get drafted by a specific coach. Some players skip evaluations altogether so they can be handpicked. Entire competitive-league teams, who play in FYBA during their off-season, manage to "coincidentally" end up together. Meanwhile, FYBA management shrugs this off, citing their large enrollment of over 1,500 kids and claiming they are "doing the best they can." But that excuse falls flat when it's clear that there is zero oversight or accountability for coaches who exploit the system. It is disheartening to watch my children lose interest in basketball simply because their games are constant 30-point blowouts. It's neither fun nor developmental--just a frustrating waste of time. 2) Ignored Complaints of Unsportsmanlike Behavior I wrote to FYBA regarding the behavior of a specific team that violated the 20-point differential rule multiple times this season. Their coach even had players loudly counting out three passes past the press line--a humiliating and unsportsmanlike display that adds insult to injury. I reported this as instructed, yet nothing changed. This same team continued their unchecked domination, including a 59-9 game. Again, this is supposed to be a RECREATIONAL basketball league, not COMP. If FYBA has rules, why are they not being enforced? My email regarding this issue was ignored. 3) Serious Incidents of Verbal Abuse Brushed Off Far more troubling, however, was an incident that occurred during my son's game against the Folsom Outlaws 7th Grade Boys team. An opposing player repeatedly harassed my son throughout the game, hurling disgusting and vulgar insults at him: Calling him a "p***y licker" Saying "Shut up little f****r" Whispering "f*** you" during post-game handshakes I immediately reported this to FYBA, expecting swift action. My email was completely ignored. No follow-up, no response--nothing. What message does this send? That abusive behavior on the court is acceptable? That FYBA does not care about the well-being of the kids in its program? 4) A League Controlled by a Dictatorial President In discussions with a league representative, I learned that many board members cannot stand the league president, Richard Greenebaum. He allegedly runs the organization as his personal kingdom, making unilateral decisions without consulting the board. One particularly egregious example: Allegedly, he booked an extravagant $6,000 pre-paid dinner at Folsom's well-known "Scott's Seafood" for the board without checking anyone's availability--only for most of them to no-show. If he is this reckless with the league's money, how is he running the rest of the organization? Final Verdict FYBA is not a fair, well-run, or accountable league. It is plagued by: Extreme team imbalances due to coaches exploiting the draft Lack of rule enforcement, leading to humiliating losses for many teams Ignored complaints, even when they involve unsportsmanlike conduct or verbal abuse A president who runs the league with no oversight Unless massive reforms are made--starting with the removal of Richard Greenebaum--I cannot, in good conscience, allow my children to participate in this league any longer. If you're considering enrolling your child in FYBA, I highly suggest looking elsewhere.

Subject: Extremely Disappointing Experience & Unresolved Billing Issue - General Manager Niko…read more The Current GM, Niko, is the worst in the Business. He is willing to do OR not to do the Unthinkable. Yes the Billing is a horrible mess. (It can be fixed--I have gone in as an A/R Consultant to many businesses and fixed the A/R in 3 months) I reccommend to try Granite Bay Crunch they seem kinder. I have been to every Crunch Gym for over 15 years and this is the ONLY 1 that is under-educated and not a business mind-set. The Folsom Crunch has let other people use a Credit Card to pay the Annual Fee but will not allow me to and insists on my checking account and routing no. The entire time he has not let me pay an Annual Fee charge (which was charged to me after I quit) with my credit card, so he would rather send me to collections. He can fix the $59 Annual Fee in an instance and I have tried to pay it many times but will not take the payment. Not fair NIK..The Problem with Niko is he is an old timer with a holier than thou attitude probably ex-lawenforcement but definitely the Steroid taking under-minded kind, from the older days. We do not need to take the Poor CS and treatment, As a matter of fact, the Customer is always right!!! I say to go to PF or Lifetime or Sparetime Clubs (THERE ARE SO MANY FITNESS CENTERS) where they treat every customer with respect. Rather than try to force the Customer hands. When new Management arrives at Crunch Folsom, you can come back to a decent gym and better Management. For now, I recommend In-Shape, 24, Studio GYMS everywhere...I know this because I have been to all these gyms and I have always praised the Management at all of them except for the NEW Mgt. at Crunch Fit in Folsom. Do your HW and research. The Yelp and Google ratings count!!

I have been a member at crunch since 2010 or 11 and I really didn't want to create this review…read more However, my most recent experience was so unsatisfactory that I had to. I have attached a screenshot of my email correspondence with the general manager that clearly states March 24 of this year that I was requesting my account and my wife's account be canceled. I do understand that there is a 30 day cancellation. So I was expecting to get charged for the accounts for one more month. However, two months later and beyond I had to reengage with the email correspondence with the general manager, and there was a very petty response that came from his end, stating that the cancellation was name specific. My initial cancellation was given with my wife's name per her state identification., she goes by Gosia, but crunch fitness was confused by this and has continually charged me. I have an ongoing claim with my bank to stop the reoccurring transactions, which is being drawn out over weeks. It's occurred to me that this is bottom tiertier customer service, they can really just cancel the membership and stop charging me, but I woke up this morning and they continued to charge me. I wouldn't recommend membership at this gym, just due to the lengthy and costly cancellation process.

I love this club. I've taken a loooonnnng time to write this, thinking I should experience more…read moreactivities, but Yelp keeps reminding me every time I check in and I probably won't dabble in more activities, so let's do this! All the staff is so nice, including the membership coordinators, the front desk check-in staff, the instructors (even those you haven't even taken a class from), the café staff, and even the cleaning ladies. I've had long conversations with the front desk, café, and janitorial staff. One Zumba instructor I play pickleball with sometimes! My primary activity is pickleball, of course! This is the premier place to play pickleball in the greater Sacramento area. Sure, you can struggle to play on a public court or join other sports clubs with pickleball, but where do all the pros eventually gather, and where are the most local tournaments held? It's here at the Johnson Ranch Pickleball Complex (South facility) with its 24 beautiful and maintained courts. The beauty of Johnson Ranch's pickleball is that it's not hard to find open play. It's also organized by skill level, unlike the public courts. We have a pickleball director, multiple pro instructors, and 3 pickleball event organizers putting together fun events for us: the popular Kings/Queens of the Court, women's/men's/mixed doubles events, ladders, MLP teams (I can't wait!), beginner Pickleball 101 classes free to the public, Challenge the Pros game, prize challenges, Live Ball and other drill classes, and pickleball classes and camps. You can also reserve a pickleball court or a swim lane for free with your membership. All our pickleball courts are lighted until 10 pm! Gym equipment, swimming pools, hot tubs, and children's wading pools can be found here. The group exercise studio and cycling studio are also at the South facility. Other than pickleball, these are my favorite classes: 10 AM Aqua Fit Class (M W F Sat Sun) Dance Fusion Class (Thu 2x, Sat with instructors Lori N or Ali B) Sometimes, I will go to Julia's 4:30 Warrior Flow Yoga class on Thursday before Dance Fusion class. I should try more classes, but they all conflict or compete against pickleball or aqua fit class. The Aqua Fit ladies like to chit chat and celebrate birthdays monthly with a potluck after class. To celebrate, one woman sometimes brings her homing pigeons to release, and they fly home...so cool! Kathee on Mondays and Wednesdays is the instructor I interact with most. Kelly on Fridays seems to be the most popular with her water aerobics class. The Dance Fusion instructors Lori and Ali have years of dance training in different types of dance. The rest of us in class are just trying to keep up and wishing to look as hip, coordinated, and graceful as them. We're working on the Beyonce Texas Hold Em TikTok Dance currently! We've done the Shivers line dance and Michael Jackson's Thriller dance before. There are group classes in yoga, cardio, strength training, cycling, pilates, barre, and more. The morning group exercise devotees will often attend three classes in a row! The food and drink menus at the South cafe are extensive. I love the $1 slushies, which are what I want on a hot day. I need to try one of the homemade cookies someday. There's also homemade banana bread. You can hire a personal trainer or get private instruction in your sport of choice. Johnson Ranch offers after school programs and summer programs for kids (i.e., swimming, pickleball camps), as well as child care. You can contact a membership coordinator or sign up online for a free one week trial: https://www.sparetimesportsclubs.com/free-one-week-membership/ During the summer, there is sometimes a free two week trial if you contact AmyH@sparetimesportsclubs.com Last year, I won a free two week membership from spinning the prize wheel during a Friday Night Lights pickleball party. To look for pickleball events at Johnson Ranch, sign up for a free account on the Playtimescheduler.com website. Free 5 PM beginner Pickleball 101 lessons are usually in a brown circle on the 1st and 3rd Fridays every month. The free 6-9 PM Friday Night Lights party open to the public is usually in a brown circle on the 3rd Friday. On the last Friday of the month, you can bring in 4 free guests. Time is precious. If you want to play and improve at pickleball quickly, this is the place to be.
