We called ahead specifically to confirm that this clinic performs ingrown toenail procedures, and we were told yes--otherwise, we would not have come in at all. Unfortunately, our experience did not match that assurance. The provider we saw appeared unsure and ultimately advised that no procedure was needed, despite the condition clearly requiring attention. I have personally had this exact procedure done many times, so it was concerning to encounter both a lack of confidence and a refusal to provide what should be a routine, straightforward treatment. We left without any real help, after taking the time to confirm services in advance. That kind of disconnect is frustrating and disappointing, especially when dealing with something painful that could have been easily resolved. Got a second opinion who immediately performed a quick operation before the infection got worse. At this location the Dr. seems disconnected, staff seemed disconnected. Just avoid if you can. **Do not come here if you are in severe pain!!!** They do not give real pain meds, no matter how much pain you are experiencing. You would think they would just refer you out to a place that could treat the pain properly, like the ER or another urgent care, but they won't. They will instead under-treat you, call that good enough, and send you home to deal with the pain on your own. This should be illegal - denying proper care to patients in agonizing pain. I waited 2+ hours in horrible pain, to then be offered a GLUTEAL (butt muscle) SHOT of 60mg Torodol (NSAID/Ibuprofen) with a gigantic needle. Yea, you have to drop your pants and bend over for it. They will make you feel like this is your only choice!!! **If they offer you this, you need to tell them NO to the gluteal injection!!! Tell them that they can split it into two 30's in the arms with smaller needles. ** I had told the doctor when I came in that ibuprofen was not helping my pain, even 1000mg of it. That I needed something else. He started to discharge me without a pain prescription and when I asked him "what about the pain?" He snapped back at me "what about the pain?" and then told me I could take as much ibuprofen as I want. How absolutely disrespectful, degrading, and dismissive. DISGUSTING behavior for a doctor. I don't know his name (because he didn't introduce himself), but he wears a top hat, which I guess should have been a red flag to begin with. I believe it's inappropriate and unprofessional for a doctor to wear a hat while treating patients. How many people come in with severe pain, only to be given a humiliating and unnecessary butt injection that doesn't even touch the pain?!? Oh, and when I asked if they could give it IV (intravenous) instead, he said "we don't do IV anything at this place"!!! What if someone is dehydrated or heat exhausted or needs meds quickly?!? Needless to say I will never be returning to this place when I am in pain. They will not take care of your pain, they will make you wait and suffer and then attempt to humiliate you and dismiss you! read more

SAVE TIME AND JUST GO TO JOVIVE, the short story is I waited 50 minutes to try to be seen then their apple pay was not working so they told me to leave. I've gone here and taken my kids many times. After filling out all the paperwork and waiting 50 minutes, they asked for the copay $10, which I was doing Apple Pay. It declined, I have funds and just used it earlier. I move money to Apple Cash which wouldn't scan and Apple Account which also doesn't scan. He then says that they don't do those payments or online payments. he said they've had issues with scammers and if I can't pay then I need to leave. I said I would just go to ER then and left throughly embarrassed and in tears. Went to Jovive who was soooo much faster, and had no trouble with my Apple Pay there. I wish I hadn't made the mistake of going there and wasting an hour of my time. From now on will save time and just go there. read more

I brought my daughter here on a Friday night after she had been extremely sick for weeks hoping to be seen and diagnosed. The doctor thought it was pneumonia but wouldn't know for sure until an X-ray was done. The doctor referred me to a place in Folsom and told me they closed at 9:00pm. I drove all the way there and they were open but ONLY for CT scans and MRI's. X-rays are closed at 4:15. No where was open at 4:30 to have an X-Ray done. I was told there at imaging that the only place that does X-rays on a Saturday is in Carmichael. We drove all the way to Carmichael Saturday morning at 10:00 and had X-rays done. We were told by the nurse that it was marked urgent and we would know the results in 30 minutes. I called urgent care back around 12:15 and they said they didn't receive results yet and they would call me when they get them. They never called! I called again at 4:30 and they said she still didn't have them in and she can't call the Carmichael imaging now because they are closed. Why was this not done earlier for me? This is so unprofessional! So we waited a whole day with no answers from anyone after being seen on Friday. I called Sunday to the carmichael imaging around 10:00am and they said x rays were viewed by a doctor at MDSTAT that morning. She would not read the results to me over the phone. She told me I could only get results from the doctor or if I drove all the way back to carmichael for a print off. I shouldn't have to do that! I called MDSTAT back again and they said they didn't have results and that they would call Carmichael imaging and call me back. I waited 2 more hours with no response. I called MDSTAT back again around 12:00 and I was told by the front desk "Kelsey" they are busy with patients and haven't had a chance to call for my results. I'm a patient as well and was there first on Friday and it's now Sunday and I don't know what's wrong with my daughter yet. I can't believe how poorly this clinic is run. Ollie Natar is the manager. My husband and I have been going to this clinic since we came to El Dorado Hills three years ago. We Haven treated for a wide variety of illnesses from food poisoning, Diverticulitis, Yeast infections, Upper Respiratory Infections ... They have given us great care for all of these problems. They are professional, knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I know there is someplace I can go and be seen that day. They will also do phone consults. They take Blue Cross and Medicare insurance and the office intake and billing has been without problem. We recommend them! read more

Couple of things here - and this is coming from someone who has worked in the ER as a provider for 20+ years. This urgent care is not for emergencies- their OFFSITE doctor via phone consults with onsite clinicians and nurses. They are not emergency trained doctors - they are family medicine trained. With that being said, the practices here are antiquated and the staff does not use the most up to date resources or treatments. The offsite doctor doesn't even have a CURES account and "will not prescribe controlled substances of any kind." More on this later. 1. NP wanted to give me 60 mg of IM Ketoralac. Let me help you a bit.... IM (for readers who are not in healthcare this is intramuscular injections) Ketoralac or Toradol hasn't been 60 mg for years, maybe decades. Even young and otherwise healthy individuals can have complications from Toradol, and if you are going to give it, it's either 15 or 30 mg. The maximum dose efficacy of this for both inflammation and pain is 30 mg. If you are giving it IV ... it's even less. You should change this unsafe practice. 2. Having a blanket rule of NOT prescribing controlled substances in your shop is inappropriate. Even, one to two days or short courses of temporary pain relief for patients who have severe acute pain issues do not make them vulnerable for addiction or complications. I had severe pain. Motrin and tylenol was not helping. As far as your concerns for patients who have addiction and acute pain Now, this isn't my personal issue and I do not have addiction problems, nor - now I have never had this issue - but if you look at the literature, you will find that people who DO actually have addiction problem - when you deny them acute pain treatments, they are more likely to use and abuse. Again this was NOT my issue (I wasn't looking for chronic pain control or have addiction issues) - but is something you should definitely consider reading more about. This would certainly put you at risk for legal litigation and liability, under treating or inappropriately treating patients pain. I also don't know how you operate an urgent care without having a controlled substance CURES account. Do you even have a DEA???? I wasn't sure this was legal in California to operate without these credentials. 3. Be careful of false advertising- you advertise that they have x-ray available, but make sure you know that there is no x-ray available ONSITE, they simply refer you to another site where you can get the test done at a later date. Sometimes, in 1-2 days. 4. Maybe you could read up on the best treatments of wound care. Some of the best treatments for wound care are medi honey (patches!), and bacitracin or mupiricin. You didn't have any of these on site. Dressings are key to preventing infection within the first few days of injury. 5. If these simple things (and there were others) aren't things you are capable of doing at your shop - and you don't know the literature or have ongoing education- you should close your shop? I was unhappy with my care, and still in pain, but I'm also disgruntled because we (as healthcare leaders) have the resources, the means and the education as well as the technology to treat patients in amazing ways. I think you did a pretty poor job of doing this at my visit. I always like to end on a positive note, so my suggestion is that you staff a physician on site - either with your nurse practitioners or PA (and ensure they are experienced not new graduate), or everybody takes an up-to-date course on how to treat pain and basic wounds. I would also take an inventory of what you have in your shop. There are many review courses out there - they can guide you on how to do this. Lastly, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: You should also use ultrasound. Handheld. Butterfly is a good one. You can detect certain complications like fractures, abscess, all kinds of things. I don't work with any doctor NP or PA that doesn't use ultrasound. It's expected!!!! Did you know ultrasound can be more sensitive and specific for certain types of diseases and diagnoses, than x-rays? Use technology... and improve on these things. read more

Worst office experience. Don't go here if you have an urgent medical issue and expect to be seen. I called ahead three times. Nobody answered and no machine. I arrived at 8:20pm on a Tuesday night to nobody up front, and the doors locked. A couple inside were waiting for someone they brought. They came to the door and threw glass said, "They locked it." Meanwhile, my toe throbbing with possible fracture. I buzzed the call button 6-7 times. Nobody came! They advertise they are open until 9pm. This place os a sham! Its 8:40pm now and still nobody has come to respond. Im sorry, are you an exclusive private urgent care clinic? This place is great. Not busy. You can get right in. Staff is friendly and encouraging. The only downside is they do not have an x-ray tech, so if you injured yourself, be prepared to go to another place for an x-ray, One my x-ray results were submitted and reviewed I immediately got a referral for an MRI and orthopedic consult. Really bad follow through. I went in complaining of two separate things-one had to do with slight chest pain. Although they did do an EKG-no one ever used a stethoscope to listen to my heart or lungs (I have had a PE before). Bizarre. Thankfully, I went to a GP a few days later. read more

Doctor was kind and patient, how we never should have met the doctor because I called ahead of time and explicitly and repeatedly asked if they would be able to physically deal with a wart and that I didn't want to come in unless he (front desk) was certain they weren't going to look at it and give us a referral. Sure enough, we drove down, paid $95, sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes with a whole bunch of sick people only to be told immediately by the doctor that he didn't have anything to deal with the wart and would give us a referral to a dermatologist. After a super frustrating experience at 3 other places I tried to get into near me in Folsom, I called MDStat. The woman who answered the phone was very nice, said to come on in. They were not busy - just one person in the waiting area. They did have several cars outside that were waiting on Covid tests. I waited about 30 minutes before being taken to a room. The dr. came in shortly thereafter. He was very nice. Diagnosed my ear infection and sent a scrip off right away and got me out the door with enough time to pick it up (it was 7:30, CVS closed at 8).
