Very uncomfortable, and the service was bad, unprofessional and unethical. The desk clerk was awesome at first when I check in for two nights. Out of the blue she told me that they would "never" enter my room, because there's no maid service. Ok, not great, but I can deal. I immediately found a pair of dirty mens underwear behind the bathroom door. The clerk was embarrassed and apologetic, but it made me figure the room wasn't cleaned very well. Next I tried to sleep on the rock-hard bed. Not pleasantly firm, but hard, yet bouncy. Probably just an old old mattress. I hardly slept and woke up with back and hip pain. So I decided I would probably check out, even though I had paid for a second night. I put all my bags in the car and left, but I didn't turn in the key or speak to any employees. I thought I might go back to rest later. I came back four hours later to find my room being cleaned. I was shocked -- what happened to NEVER entering my room?! The same desk clerk came running out and said, "We thought you were finished with the room!". I asked why, when I had paid for two nights. I asked twice but she would not explain, just kept giggling, saying, "I'm so sorry!". So obviously they went into the room -- but why?! They explicitly said no maid service was offered. read more

what a great little gem, stayed in the 2 bedroom cottage , the beds were comfortable, the place was very clean & cozy. the kitchenette was great with dishes and nice size fridge. and the 2 bathroom s were wonderful! candy the manager went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed and then some. I can't begin to tell you how reasonable the price was. I was amazed that they offer such a room at these prices.I give 10 stars & 2 thumbs up! will definitely stay again! read more

The room we stayed in (The Driftwood Room) was very clean and everything was in great working order. Older place, but I feel that is part of the charm. I truly like the ease of being able to walk to coffee (Tinderbox Coffee Roasters) or to the grocery store, and had a fairly decent Mexican Restaurant across the street. re: 1st Stay with Ocean Avenue Inn! We had a pleasant experience from booking room to checkout. The staff members are friendly and informative. The rooms are what you would expect for the age of establishment and price. It's affordable and well maintained. We booked a 2 bedroom with kitchenette. We appreciated the half-baths in each room. The kitchen proved to be useful during our stay with the weather as it was, especially with the available options during this time of year. Although, we did eat out during most of our stay. Guest would find the location of this charming 'Ocean Avenue Inn' convenient as it has a drive-up coffee shop and grocery store within walking distance. Due to the stormy conditions and it not being tourist season most of the shops by the water either closed early or didn't open. We kept hoping for the local donut shop to open (it didn't). It was disappointing to say the least. The activities previously planned for our trip to Westport, WA changed (including our room reservations). Amazing people run this place. I am stranded in Wesport due to car problems on an OFF season weekend with my bf and 2 dogs. Got a room at the first hotel with availability and dog friendly. The next day the truck still doesn't start so I go to pay for another night. The people here not only tried to help find me a mechanic available on a Sunday but also found me a ride home to Everett on the same day for a good price while my bf stays behind with the truck. I think this would be a 4 star review if it wasn't for the manager Stacy who was so helpful from the moment I called asking about her accommodations. First this place has some wear around the edges but is immaculately clean!!!!! We were in room #2. It has a combination living room / dining / kitchen area, that was very functional and comfortable. Two bedrooms one with a queen bed the other with two twins. Each bedroom has a half bath and then there is the main bath with the tub and shower, so yes this room has three bathrooms. Personally I'd rather see the half baths, or at least one of them removed and turned into a closet as we did have a tough time finding good places to store our stuff. We would also have rather seen a second queen bed rather than the two twins, but I'm sure families with two kids like the twins better. This room was a mixture of some new and some old. The appliances were older units but very functional. I cooked several meals in the room without a problem, however the kitchen is a bit limited on equipment, there is enough to get by with but no measuring cups. Plates, bowls silverware and dishes for I think it was 5 or 6, but only 4 glasses and 4 mugs, but you can get by with that. Carpet and most of the furniture is older, some of it may date back to the 60's but clearly has been taken care of and is still in good condition. Beds look like they were all replaced very recently and were comfortable we all had a GREAT NIGHTS SLEEP. WIFI was easy to get on to and worked well. Dogs of any size are welcome with prior approval, except rots and pits due to insurance restrictions. I'll say it again, this place is immaculately clean!!!! Overall we really liked the room, Stacy was very helpful, and we would definitely stay here again. It's not the Ritz, it's a 60's motor lodge, that is slowly getting fixed up and is in the care of management that really cares! read more

Freezing cold could barely sleep my poor baby woke up multiple times because it was so cold. Worst hotel I have stayed in.

Does what it needs to. We slept here prior to fishing. Room was a bit dated, but functional. Minus the cigarette burns on the blanket, the room was pretty clean. Lots of cigarette smoke coming into the room from the outside. Sally was very helpful and the rate was just right. If you are looking for a functional room at a reasonable rate, this is the place. read more

This is a small, family-operated motel with no frills but lots of heart. The management is super accommodating. The rooms are simple and rustic, don't expect anything fancy. But the bed is soft and the room is clean, and there's even a mini-kitchen in the room. We used some of their pots & pans to cook up a huge crab feast with the crabs we caught yesterday and ate out on the little picnic table on the premises. It's obnoxious that the current owners really care about their operation and the satisfaction of their guests, and I will definitely be back! read more

My partner and I were so excited to take advantage of a couple of nights away alone in a motel on the coast. We both love kitschy old motels and don't expect perfection, but this is unacceptable. Because of the dog we brought, under 25 lbs., we weren't allowed a room "with the good furniture," (direct quote from the owners) though we are paying extra for him. He is well behaved and older. The room itself is amazing in its lack of care. The floors are all damp and there is mold along the baseboards. There are no paper towels nor tissues. Those are conveniences they don't provide for their guests (I asked). The bed had hair all over the blanket; this was after we removed the questionable bedspread. There is one table, with only one chair. The kitchenette lacks staples, such as bowls, sauce pans (though there are 3 frying pans?), a cutting board, and a drain to go under the dish rack. There is no exhaust fan for the kitchen and only one bright top light for the kitchen/living area of the room. We don't have privacy curtains. We are the only guests and were clearly put in the worst room. This room is not even worth the half price we've paid for it; I cannot begin to fathom paying over $100 for this room, nor any room in this motel. If your going to Westport to fish,surf or window shop this is a great place to stay. The new managers are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable,and most rooms have kitchenettes. and they have pet friendly rooms! They are within walking distance to Lighthouse park and the beach and the average room is under 70 bucks a night. Pretty good deal. read more

100% DISSATISIFIED WITH THE NEW MANAGEMENT AT THE OCEAN AVE INN IN WESTPORT WA. My last stay two years ago was great. I made reservation two weeks in advance for two rooms and was guaranteed the price of $65.00 for each room by Sally. The reason for two rooms is that I am disabled and need to use a nebulizer every two hours round the clock in order to breath. I did not want my traveling friend to be disturbed by this so we wanted two rooms. When we arrived to check in we were told our reserved rooms were not available but they could put us together in one room with the second bed being a sofa. We have stayed at this hotel at this location many times. We always refer our friends and have had great experiences here. We are elite in best westerns points program so this trip we booked 3 nights. Two we paid for and the third we used our points. Checked in on a Monday. We always request a top corner room which usually costs more and we are happy to pay for it. This trip we were told they had a third floor corner instead of fourth and we were happy that. Lovely visit. Beautiful weather. This afternoon, after 2 nights, our last night being points used we got a call from the front desk at 3 pm telling us we had to change rooms, someone had reserved this room. We were told you cannot reserve rooms. Hmmm. Since we have to pack everything up we decided to just head home. Now we are fighting to get our points back. They never told us at check in that we would have to move. I'm very disappointed in this hotel. They said they called and left a phone message today on my cell telling us we had to move. I never received a message. So, they just said we can have a different room but if we don't stay we can have SOME of our points back, but are being penalized because they couldn't have our room ready for different guests by 4 and they are being penalized so we are being penalized. This may sound like not a big deal and if they had told us at check in it would have been fine. But they waited until 3 pm and then penalized us. I'm done with Best Western. read more
