Zero stars. This isn't even the first bad experience I've heard involving American Tire Depot. A friend of mine also had problems after wheel service at one of your locations. Based on my own experience, I cannot recommend American Tire Depot for any service. I originally believed you were at least dependable for tires, but after everything I went through--from defective brake pads, repeated return visits, unanswered questions, a promised complimentary full synthetic oil change that I have no confidence was ever performed, and brake noise that continued even after more than 300 miles--I no longer trust this company with my vehicle. David, this is on you. After my second review, you told me that if I removed it, you would replace the defective brake parts and provide a free full synthetic oil change for the inconvenience. Then I had to even ask you what happened...he stumbled over his words and said "oh the brake pads were defective its a good brand" I immediately thought strange a good mechanic wouldve caught that. Next, when he stumbled over his words, I felt paranoid that its just a me thing. That the brake pads are actually going to be changed. They changed it but this time it was groaning. I do instacart 16 hours a day easy to get to 300 miles. Still happening. After the work was supposedly completed, I asked: - What oil was used? "Full synthetic" I annoyingly asked David 2x and then on my way out I asked the mechanic. - Where is my oil change sticker? We dont do that here. But let me calculate it . "142k" ish - Can I have paperwork showing the brake repair and oil change? I received none of it. Oh no we dont have it ..I'll just warranty this out? So you used my warranty already when it should've be done the 1st time. At the time, my vehicle had approximately 137,368 miles, even though next change my oil around 138,000 miles. Because they confirmed 3x they changed my oil. I didn't get one. I questioned the answer because it didn't make sense. Now I'm over 139,000 miles. My vehicle later began producing smoke from the exhaust, and when I took it to my regular mechanic, he immediately pointed out that the oil was overdue. He also found the oil level above the full mark, indicating it had been topped off rather than replaced. That same mechanic also criticized the brake job, explaining the components had not been cleaned or tightened properly and that the parts used were not the best choice for my vehicle. Looking back, I regret not going to my regular mechanic from the beginning because his quote was essentially the same price. So no, David--I will not be removing this review. Now...I believe they did this oil change stunt to spite me for a bad review that was in my RIGHT tk begin with. This review reflects my actual experience. I stand by everything I've written. I dont mishear conversations. Even of that was a possibility, the mechanics to the manager said they "changed it full synthetic ". They still filled it past the full line. My experience left me believing this shop acted unethically purposely and handled my vehicle carelessly . Because of what happened, I drove well past the oil change interval I normally follow while believing the promised oil change had already been completed. And now paid extra for brake rotors AGAIN at my original mechanic. Zero stars for dishonest service. Zero stars for poor brake work. Zero stars for wasting my time and money. Zero stars for making promises I do not believe were kept. Zero stars for bad cramped location. Zero stars for poor customer service. ZERO stars for wait times and not honoring appointment times As for a Yelp reply from managers "sorry your experince..yadda yadda" dont care. If I dont get a refund nothing will change this review. I would echo some of the previous 1 star reviews here about the front desk service. I walked in and the younger staff members looked absolutely disgusted that they had to get off their cell phones to answer questions. Was it that they had to actually work? Was it my ethnicity? Did I have something in my teeth? We will never know. But it certainly bothered me enough to want to look into other people's experience here and now I realize it's not isolated although it still feels that way. Regardless, they said they were busy and to come back another day. I said just walk in? They said yeah. It was strange because at other ATD establishments, even if they're busy, they'll just book an appointment with you. These guys didn't seem to care whether you came back or not. I read another review that staff members here behave the way they do because they're "hitting the numbers." That's sad to read. I call the next day to book an appointment because I didn't want to walk in again and be told they're busy. I asked whether they needed my name or any other info. They said no because they already have my cell phone from the call. I show up for my appointment and they said they don't have me in the system for any appointments. I show them the call log I had with their team so they don't think I'm making it up or that I called the wrong spot. I read another review that said these guys are absolute clowns. As you can see, customer service is not at the top of their list here. I will say that another tall guy at the front desk was great to deal with which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. He was friendly, normal, and made things work. Most customers don't ask for much. Nobody is asking for Michelin star treatment. Just be semi-friendly, communicative, and get the job done. read more

Worst spot to come get tires changed on your car I had an appointment @12:30 and waited 3 hours to get my car back when they were all just chillin on their phones kicking back. I asked and they said they were busy and my car wasn't even being worked on. If I could give them 0 stars I would worst spot I've been too. These guys are pretty much a bunch of clowns, I made a 12 p.m. appointment, showed up on time and checked in. After sitting for 30 minutes of sitting and waiting with no communication, I asked, "What is the expected wait time I have been here for 30 minutes?" They told me one more hour, so that is a total of an hour and a half for a repair of a tire patch with no communication. What is the point of making an appointment? There are better ways of handling clients in a more professional manner, such as: - " things are running a little bit behind. Do you mind waiting a little longer?" - "We would like to let you know it's going to be longer than expected today." Don't recommend for anything other than an emergency patch on your tire. Spent more than 1k on tires here and alignment. They completely messed up the alignment and I'm now having to get another company to fix their work. In addition, the waiting room is small and not an actual waiting room. Went into this place to get all four tires changed on my Prius. Per the information clearly printed on my door jam, tires should be inflated to 35.5 on the front, 33 on the back. Picked up my car and the tire pressure light on my dashboard lit up as I was driving away. I stopped to ask the technician and he said if I drive around for a while the sensor should reset itself. Now this automatically sounded like bs to me because when I've had a leaking tire in the past, the sensor was able to read immediately that my tire was no longer flat as soon as I added air - no driving around for 25 miles or so needed, but sure, you're the expert. A month of driving a minimum 20 miles every day to and from work and the sensor never reset itself. I also noticed that my car is driving weird - handling curves poorly, having a weird "bounce" and just generally driving worse than when I had my old bald tires on. The tires never looked flat so I didn't think to check the tire pressure until today. The two tires on the front of my car that are supposed to be filled to 35.5 are filled to 35.5 and 45.5. The back tires are filled 35.5 and 37.5 instead of 33. In case you're unaware, having ridiculously, comically, unprofessionally overfilled tires can be just as dangerous as having flat tires. The extra stress on your tires makes them more prone to wear and degradation as they're bouncing around on the road... over filling your tires actually increases the frequency you need to replace them! It's all starting to make sense now. When I called American tire depot to ask how three out of four of my tires were overfilled, one overfilled by 10 whole psi a month after it was installed (meaning presumably it was MORE overfilled a month ago and some air has been lost) the gentleman who picked up the phone kept repeating what the recommended tire pressure for my Prius is and stating that that's what the tires should have been filled to. I asked him if he thought I'd be calling and wasting my time speaking with someone as useless as him if the technicians at his shop had done what they should have done. No response. The offer was extended for me to come back to the shop that couldn't install my tires properly in the first place and let them release some of the extra air. I declined. I feel like a place called American Tire Depot should be able to install a tire inflated at least kinda close to the recommended inflation value? it seems like a minimum expectation of service at a place that both sells and installs tires.... If I'm going somewhere that sells and installs tires, I'm expecting them to be installed properly and filled appropriately. Leaving a tire shop with new tires overinflated like a monster truck tire makes as little sense to me as leaving a tire shop with a new flat tire. This place is a mess; the technicians working on your car are obviously asleep on the job and the people behind the front desk are useless. If you're looking to resolve your tire problems, coming here is only going to cause more problems. Avoid. read more

Issue persisted, I came back Sunday. They re balanced the tires and I was good to go... When a customer tells you on their second visit, "I've driven 140mph on these rims, my previous tires didn't wobble, the tires you're installing for me have 2,000 miles of use, here's a repair invoice for the fix that was done to that rim"-- instead of causing more problems by sending them away, you listen and check your work during their 3pm saturday appointment time. On Friday, December 19, I called to schedule an appointment for Sunday, December 21 at 12:00 PM to have new tires installed on my Toyota 4Runner. During that phone call, I specifically asked how long the install would take and was told about one hour. I also explained that I wanted to give my old tires to a friend, who would come by around 1:00 PM to have them installed on his vehicle. The person on the phone said that was fine and even suggested having my friend arrive at 1:00. Based on that conversation, I planned my entire day around this schedule and drove up from Orange County to Los Angeles. When I arrived on Sunday at noon, I was immediately told it would take "a couple of hours" just to install my tires. I brought up the prior phone conversation and the plan for my friend's appointment, and the response was basically that they were backed up and my friend would need to make an appointment for another day. At that point, the issue wasn't just the delay--it was the lack of accountability. If the shop was going to be busy or unable to honor what was discussed, that should have been communicated upfront. I would have planned differently or gone elsewhere. Instead, I was given completely different expectations over the phone versus in person. The communication here is unreliable, and the attitude I received in person didn't help the situation. I value honesty and clarity, especially when appointments and travel time are involved. It's from my 1993 Jeep, which I might say still had its original "spare" tire with which my AAA mechanic exchanged.
