This establishment was my favorite place to get a haircut until today. First of all, the environment is friendly and welcoming. I find the vintage setting of the establishment to be very pleasing. As soon as you walk in, everyone greets you and that's something I personally appreciate being that I have been in restaurant general management for over seven years. My go-to barber was OldTime J. He's very good at what he does and I have been getting my haircut with him for several months now. Until today. I had an appointment scheduled at 10:30am. I showed up at 10:40am and as I was walking in the door I received a notification saying that I was recorded as a no-show. I walk in and OldTime J was sitting in Cody's chair getting a haircut. The first thing I said when I walked was, "I realize that I'm late, but I can pay you the late fee of $15". He mentions that he had tried to charge me, but it didn't go through. I will always own the fact that I was late which is why I was willing to pay the late fee. He mentions that he can't help me after being late, but can help me at 3:45pm since he has that opening. I'm thinking sure why not so reply yes and I book the 3:45pm. Then, I go ahead and pay him and confirm with him that I was charged the $15 late fee and he mentions that I was actually charged the full amount which was $46.50. I am in awe at how things are going down at this moment. I ask him if I needed to pay for the entire amount again when I come back and he responded yes. That's just ridiculous. I didn't authorize a $46.50 charge. So I tell him to just go ahead and cancel the 3:45pm at this point. While all of this is happening, I'm looking straight at him looking to make eye contact and he has little to no eye contact with me due to him being on his phone the entire time. The lack of eye contact displays dishonesty. He cancels the 3:45pm and before I walk out I say thank you and have a nice day because there's no reason to be disrespectful towards him for a mistake I made. As I'm walking to my car, I get an email saying that he actually went ahead and saved my payment method without my authorization. Did he save it to make sure that next time he can freely charge my card anything he wants without getting my approval? That's shady. I hope those $46.50 was worth losing repetitive business from me. read more

Afterwards, everyone else greeted me as if I have been a regular for years. Made me feel right at home from the start. I immediately get sat down by the infamous, Tony Aggro. Asked me, "what would you like to drink?" Umm, like water or coke? He smug..."alcohol". Took the time to examine my big head and after making calculations like the character John Nash from the Beautiful Mind movie, he suggested a few styles that would better fit my head and hair type. He is a really friendly person, actually everyone here is very friendly. The first time I came here I was greeted immediately when I walked through the door. My first experience here was as a walk in. I could tell every barber was busy but I needed a cut so I gave it a shot. Cody looked at me and looked at his watch and told me he could fit me in! One of the coolest spots in Long Beach for a great fade & chill environment. My barber was attentive, cut and blended my hair really well and even offered me some good whiskey!It honestly made the experience that much better.
