    My mental state rn

We outside ... we outside.... We outside... over and over. Blow my brains out please. I've never heard a worse dj.

When you talk about partying in Miami, whether you're from Kazakhstan or Australia; the Philippines or Surinam; Dubai or Ethiopia; in essence, any part of the world, you're undoubtedly talking about heading, at one point or another, to South Beach. When you talk about partying in Fort Lauderdale - you're undoubtedly talking about making it, at one point or another, to Riverfront. And if you're talking about Riverfront Fort Lauderdale there's no better place to start or end the night for that matter, than at America's Backyard. Like the name implies there you'll find the best representation of American music, entertainment, and party culture. The fun is nonstop. It's young. It's in your face. It's loud from beginning to end. And that's what we love about it. Like Dicey Riley's next door, America's Backyard is a corner stone of the Riverfront scene. Many nights of pure enjoyment have started with "We'll start at America's Backyard", and have ended the same way for everything about the place, from it's design to the DJ's arrangements, the bartenders, the bar in the shape of a pool, - in essence the atmosphere overall - are meant to get you to forget about everything else in the world and party. The positives are innumerable: parking is closed by. The streets of Riverfront are closed off for you to move from bar to bar. America's Backyard is attached to Revolution nightclub for easy location and for more personal concerts. Additional the staff is incredibly friendly and the people who frequent fun to get to know and interact with. All in all, if you're heading to Fort Lauderdale for a good time. Head to Riverfront. And when in Riverfront don't forget to stop by America's Backyard - you won't forget it!

Distraught. Traumatized. Led to a dark place. All things my dear friend experienced during our excursion to America's backyard. If this is what america is all about I simply want no part of it. We came to Fort Lauderdale to enjoy some good clean fun. We are leaving with scars on our minds. And with tainted hearts. I urge you all to steer clear of this establishment. And steer clear of gropey Mc teeny peen.

The guy who reserved the table didn't even tell us that he did

Went there to have some drinks and got kicked out immediately because I sat at the "wrong" seat. That place can literally suck it. I can say the security was nice but not considerate. They need to tell people what is reserved or not without being complete you know what. They need to grow up. Do not recommend to those in the area.

There is nothing worse then a crowded bar packed to the absolute max and unable to get a literal water. Dying of thirst and the bartender's would only pay you any attention if you "flash them cash". My friends and I bought a pass that ensured an open bar, which the DJ kept also endorsing. I made my way up to the bar for a water after the space had become extremely and overwhelmingly packed. Bartender in blue ignored service because we weren't "flashing her cash", despite the open bar pass. I had to ultimately leave due to dehydration and refusal of water. Truly upsetting.

Fun Stop In Ft. Lauderdale On Our Bar/Pub Crawl! SITREP Whether with a group - or by yourself - American's Backyard is a great place to stop in for a drink, for an oggle, and to dance! THE SETUP And the name "America's Backyard" is just exactly as it implies: a fun, casual, unpretentious environment where the drinks are cheap (because of the awesome drink specials, it couldn't have gotten any cheaper unless we had B.Y.O.B'd), the music is banging, and don't be surprised if there is some spry little vixen grinding up again you on the dancefloor.... ....OR coming down on you from above getting ready to deliver a shot! (of SUMTHIN! I seemed to have been up at the bar just when the pretty little vixens were imparting vodka shots (Mmm..good!). THE CAPTAIN! And it's always nice to see a very familiar face when you are in a completely different city, let along state! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/americas-backyard-fort-lauderdale?select=V14H6fUzyYAN2skXNhrhzg THE LAYOUT What is very cool about this set-up is that "The Bar" itself is the main feature of this establishment. It is large, and right smack in the middle of the complex. That might sound like a large obstruction nuisance to some, but hear me out: the WHOLE PLACE is fricken huge! So with the bar in the middle, that means no matter where anyone is along the perimeter - the game areas, the DJ & Dancing area, the areas leading to the restrooms, etc. - you are always equidistant to the bar no matter wherever you are! So that leads to the best feature... P-A-T-I-O! Most of the so-called interior - since it is open-air - is really an outside P-A-T-I-O, even though it kinda feels INSIDE. I love it when an establishment can incorporate the "outside" like that "inside." KUDOS I have to give big props to the lovely Ft. Lauderdale Elite Squad crew of Greshka P., Ashley M., Savanna M., Cherine S. & Jennifer S. who introduced us to this (basically) "Adult Amusement Park" of Drinks & Dancing! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/americas-backyard-fort-lauderdale?select=Sao6fKzUZ7UU19GIhQtThg This was one stop along with a few others I joined in on for an amazing Unofficial Yelp Event (UYE), and it was loads of fun. I also have to give mad props to Alma H. for being my dance partner and breaking the ice for everyone else when no one was dancing (but the music was JAMMIN, so we had to dance!) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/americas-backyard-fort-lauderdale?select=Qus7VkMg4OXe-BODNaxfEw [Photo by John F.] THE LOWDOWN Definitely a spot I'll come back to when I hit Ft. Lauderdale in the VERY near future!

I'm in Ft. Lauderdale for spring break for the week. Decided to stop by backyard for the night and had a bunch of fun with my friends. Unfortunately my phone fell out of my pocket while i was there, but luckily the cleaning staff picked it up and when i went back the next day i asked and it was brought right to me at the front door. Super nice staff and venue, would definitely go back 10/10

It's really tough to review America's Backyard because of the changing crowd which crowd seems to bring its own party theme along with it. Mostly it depends upon the time of day or day of the week or season on the year. Late afternoons when it opens around five o'clock, it's common to see private groups celebrating with office parties, birthdays, engagements, marriages and as now very common, divorces or relationship breakups. As a side note, the divorce and relationship breakup parties tend to be the most festive as well as gregarious. Later as evening hums along, things tend to get wilder. The ten o'clock groups with mostly younger 20 to early 30 somethings take over sucking their drinks through swizzle sticks and seem to be there for the specific purpose of getting themselves into party mood. Then, come around about midnight there usually comes another 20 something crowd bringing with it a lot of dancing, cheering and raving that often breaks out with college fraternity or sorority gangs or those arriving after a rock concert at nearby Revolution or one of the other nearby Himmarshee District venues. Indeed, things can become messy with plenty of not all that sober partiers, but since America's Backyard is a really large open spacy establishment, it handles any such crowd very well. The best features of America's Backyard that make it really conducive to the young party group gangs are that it is big with plenty of room to move around in, has several bars (the Candy Bar can be a hoot), fun loving dancing, bar staff pouring drinks while on the bar and one of the best sound systems around. Basically and overall ABY is a party place for the young, particularly during the late hours of the night or early hours of the morning, well suited for it with plenty of hooting, hollering, frolicking, drinking and fun.

All the rumors about Fort Lauderdale are true at America's backyard! I was there with the Yelp Spring Break crew on a Friday night when they were featuring there ladies drink free until midnight special! I couldn't believe it. all the women have unlimited free drinks until midnight. Everybody received one free drink by simply checking in on Yelp. It was really a wild party atmosphere with smoke machines, loud music, and bartenders pouring shots directly into your mouth! The scantily clad girls selling tybe shots for $3 were grest too. When they walk around the top of the bars it's great eye candy. Yum! Definitely a great party place! See my many many pictures! #77 for 2015

It almost disappears among the restaurants across from the Galleria Mall. Step inside, though, and you're transported into one of South Florida's true culinary treasures, led by James Beard Award-winning Chef Allen Susser. The tableside Caesar salad is both dinner and a performance. Fresh, flavorful, and prepared right in front of you, it's worth ordering for the experience alone. The standout of the evening was the Cabernet-braised short rib. So tender it practically melts with the touch of a fork, perfectly seasoned, and a dish that reminds you why Chef Allen has earned such an outstanding reputation. As if the dinner wasn't enough, the night continued with one of South Florida's best-kept secrets. Walk through an unassuming set of double doors, head upstairs, and you'll find a simple lobby with a large red door tucked into the corner. Behind it is Betty's Bar, a hidden speakeasy that feels like stepping back into the Prohibition era. Great cocktails, lively music, jazz, rock and roll, and an atmosphere that makes it easy to lose track of time. A special thank you to Matt, the gracious host and manager, Brandon, whose tableside Caesar salad preparation was as memorable as his service, and Amy at Betty's Bar, who welcomed us with a celebratory glass of champagne. Sunness Supper Club and Betty's Bar immediately earned a place on our short list of favorite South Florida destinations. Parking was conveniently located right in front of the restaurant, making it an easy stop. As soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted and invited to sit wherever we liked. We chose a table near the window and immediately appreciated the intimate and charming atmosphere. The restaurant also features a bar and televisions, creating a relaxed and welcoming vibe. Our waitress was pleasant, attentive, and made us feel right at home, which always enhances the dining experience. Although we weren't extremely hungry, the menu had so many appealing options that we decided to sample a few items. We started with the Caribbean Tea shots, which were unique, refreshing, and surprisingly enjoyable. For drinks, we ordered a Malbec and a Peanut Butter Old Fashioned. Our first entrée was the Churrasco Frites, featuring marinated skirt steak topped with chimichurri and served with twister fries. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful, but those fries were the true star of the dish. Still wanting more, we ordered the Garlic Parmesan Twice Cooked Wings. They were nicely prepared and satisfying, though I would have enjoyed a stronger garlic flavor. Not quite finished, we moved on to the Oaxaca Burger, an 8 ounce burger stacked with onion rings, bacon jam, house BBQ sauce, and Oaxaca cheese. This was one of the best burgers I've ever had, and possibly the best. The bun was toasted yet soft, the burger was seasoned perfectly, and it was cooked to a juicy medium temperature. Every bite was packed with flavor. Overall, everything we ordered was excellent, and the service and atmosphere made the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and look forward to returning.
