The owners found a 70s-80s fabulous property and are making it something. The hotel is retro but the rooms are modern. There is a common ares facing all rooms and that is what makes this place great. Our visit, people staying were a tiny community. Having fun, sharing and enjoying the setting. The hotel second floor has peek-a-boo views of the bay and a gorgeous view of the lake. A private and public dock are on or adjacent to property. The owners are gracious with amenities and gave up a personal grill to a client during our stay so they could have dinner. What makes this place stand out is service. The staff was amazing and kind. Towels, no problem. Pillows- have more. This is what an independent property should feel like. If you're looking for on the waves beach, this isn't your property. If you're looking for close to the jetty which isn't as populated, and willing to drive to restaurants- book here. It was worth the distance to have a lovely experience where everyone was genuinely having fun.

They have remodeled the insides of the rooms beautifully, it really feels cozy like your at home. The staff/ owners are warm, welcoming and friendly people. Even their kids were more than happy to help me out when I needed a few things. Very well behaved and adorable :) The price was more than reasonable and the location was great! Just a short walk and tour at the beach! They were even dog friendly. I have nothing bad to say about this place and I will definitely be a regular. Thanks everyone! See you next time

We were not ready for our 6 month old to camp so we opted for these cottages. We were so happy. Everything you need. Great use of space. We could cook, walk 10 minutes to the boardwalk, walk 2 minutes to sit on the rocks and smoke a cigar and even step outside and watch the marina. I loved staying here and will be back again. I also appreciate that this property has parking spots right in front of your room. The building is an older style, but very quaint. You get actual room keys which are a bit bulky, but sometimes do make me feel more safe than the electronic keys. Everything was clean and in good working order. I had no idea this place had a kitchen, but this allowed me to save some money by having a meal in the room. There is a grocery store located very close. I also really appreciated the bathroom amenities which included a toothbrush and toothpaste which is not something I recall seeing in a hotel anytime in recent years. There's a large grass area out front which children were playing in and people were walking their pets. There's a covered structure that looked ideal for spending time outside in the colder/wetter weather. There's a bar with good food to the left, a brewery with pizza up the road to the right and a Mexican place across the road.

Out of the blue she told me that they would "never" enter my room, because there's no maid service. Ok, not great, but I can deal. I immediately found a pair of dirty mens underwear behind the bathroom door. The clerk was embarrassed and apologetic, but it made me figure the room wasn't cleaned very well. Next I tried to sleep on the rock-hard bed. Not pleasantly firm, but hard, yet bouncy. Probably just an old old mattress. I hardly slept and woke up with back and hip pain. So I decided I would probably check out, even though I had paid for a second night. I put all my bags in the car and left, but I didn't turn in the key or speak to any employees. I thought I might go back to rest later. I came back four hours later to find my room being cleaned. I was shocked -- what happened to NEVER entering my room?! The same desk clerk came running out and said, "We thought you were finished with the room!". I asked why, when I had paid for two nights. I asked twice but she would not explain, just kept giggling, saying, "I'm so sorry!". So obviously they went into the room -- but why?! They explicitly said no maid service was offered.

The only thing I don't care for is there are no hooks of any sort to hang your clothes on in the whole room. Especially, in the bathroom where personally an under the sink cubbie for the hotel robe doesn't cut it. The only 2 rods to hang things on are the towel rack in with the tub & toilet area, and the closet out in the main room. Very inconvenient. The outer portion of bathroom where the sink is, only has the cubbie. Initially that is filled with towels & bathrobes. The lack of a towel rack near the sink seems to be a growing trend at motels. What's with that? Otherwise, so far I've enjoy the in room Keurig coffee service and I'm impressed by the room's addition of wine glasses to the clear coffee cups & water glasses. The downside is the cups are a small 8 oz and I had to cycle twice for a decent amount of coffee. View great! Not sure the rest is worth it.
