Do not stay at this hotel!!! Negative stars are appropriate! Found a used needle in the shower area of my room. Had a Four night reservation on Priceline. Morning after the second night I let management know What I found and told them there was a family of six staying in the room next-door if that family had my room one of the kids could've found that needle. The manager told me thank you for letting us know sorry for the inconvenience this happens all the time. When I called Priceline to get my refund they told me the manager said I didn't check out properly so price line can not issue the refund. I'm still waiting to hear from the owner read more

If I could post a review without ANY stars I would. We booked on Hotels.com and the reviews were average. I believe the room photos are from somewhere else, certainly NOT from our room. The place was filthy and outdated. I bring my own cleaning wipes when I travel and when I cleaned the surfaces, they were filthy. Photos below are from the bathroom, we didn't stay long enough to shower. Neighborhood was super questionable too. We looked for another place to stay (we were just passing through) and couldn't find anything. My recommendation- just pass on to another town. read more

One of the nastiest places I've ever stayed. The lady behind the counter at check in was very nice. Told me 3 times we serve breakfast between 6:30 - 9:00. "Breakfast" was coffee, Costco muffins cut in half, a pitcher of milk sitting out on the counter getting warm and a plastic half gallon jug of apple juice. I actually booked this hotel with Hotwire so I'm disappointed with both. We paid $80.00 for a room that looked like it was last remodeled in the 1970's. The room smelled like mold. The carpet was filthy. No bathtub in the room. No ac unit and what looked to be a heating unit in the wall. The area and hotel are sketchy to say the least. It looked like instead of curtains, there were shower curtains hanging in the room. We were highly disappointed and canceled the second night. Don't waste your money here. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This hotel is absolutely disgusting. I came here at night and there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of moths insects around, especially outside our room. Surrounding every light, there are hundreds of them and we had to walk through them to get to our room. Upon entering the room, some of them fly in with us. It is evident that we are not the only ones with this problem because there are already dead flies all over the wall. They're also all over the bed sheets. I wasn't able to sleep at all. Bathroom is dirty, nothing special. It's hard to find an outlet next to the bed. If I didn't come with a tour, I would never have picked a place like this. read more

I booked this hotel via Priceline for 2 nights and was EXTREMELY disappointed with every aspect of this "establishment." I would give them 0 stars if possible. I was coming to Eureka for a wedding all the way from Vacaville, CA (a six hour drive) and arrived a little after midnight. The man at the "front desk" seemed out of it and as tired as I was from my drive. I explained to him I had a reservation booked and paid for through Priceline and he told me that was just a holding, that I need to show my credit card and they will put the charge through. In my delirium, I obliged and had him charge my card since the Priceline payment was still pending as far as I was aware. My receipt said $155 for the stay, even though he told me $164. I didn't say anything thinking maybe I just misunderstood him. Boy was I wrong... The room was not as bad as I had imagined AT FIRST. When my guest and I started to unpack our things and get ready to go to sleep we noticed that the lamps were all extremely hot. In the bathroom, the ceiling lighting was so hot that when left on for five minutes you could feel the heat a good 2 feet away from them. Taking a closer look, they turned out to be heating lamps-- the kind you get for an iguana. If we had touched them they would have burned and marked our skin severely. As if the heating lamps weren't bad enough, there was no AC or even a fan in the room. It was the equivalent to being in a human sized reptile tank... As for the beds, one was exceptional, the other hard as a rock and a few of the pillows clearly needed to be retired. The complimentary "breakfast" consisted of some toast and Costco muffins sliced in half, one pot of coffee, and some questionable juices in pitchers... No thank you. Obviously, we left beyond disappointed. You would think this trip were behind us, but of course not. I was going to just pass it off as a crappy stay, but then I look at my bank account... The genius who checked me in lied to me. Priceline charged me AND he charged me. So I just paid over $350 for a two night stay in a hell-hole. Now I'm stuck over 200 miles away hoping the representatives from Priceline can make them refund me the money they flat out STOLE from me. Never NEVER again. read more

For the price and location this is a good place to stay. I was a bit skeptical and was about to change my reservation. Initially it looked like those motel where "nightly" business is conducted out of. And by "nightly" business I mean prostitution. However, once I took a better look I saw no evidence of the such. The room was decent, thought it was a strong odor some sort of chemical, I couldn't put my finger on the smell, best guess it that it was possibly layers of paint. Now, for customer service, this place is certainly lacking it. I asked for extra pillows and was told that there was no-one available to bring them to me. So instead I had to go out in the rain and get them myself. Then when I asked for and extra pillow, aside from the ones I'd already asked for. I was told that they were in the laundry locked safely way where the machines could enjoy sleeping on them instead of the guest. Ok, well the woman didn't say that exactly but that's what I translated her response to mean. Anyway for a one night stay this will suffice anything more I say get a room somewhere else. read more

Its the worst motel i have lived in. There was fish smell outside the motel. There was hair on the basin counter and one of the napkins. The bed are pretty bad too and one of them had a dead spider lying around. There os NO AC or fan in the room. And its unbearable. Dont ever come here!!! read more

We found a crack pipe and a cockroach in our room. The mattresses and sheets were stained with what appear to be blood, and there was a hookers phone number written in lipstick on the mirror. The room was covered in ash and the carpet was extensively burned by what I assume to be the a fore mentioned paraphernalia. There were burn holes all over the blankets and mucus on the walls. In response to our complaint, the hotel manager verbally assaulted us, threatened to have law enforcement remove us, and demanded entrance to and a search of our room. She suggested that the cockroach had come with us, told us that based on our appearance she didn't want to rent the room to us to begin with, called us "faggots" and told us to "go to hell". read more

A decent, cheap hotel in Eureka's downtown. A short walk to the waterfront, Old Town attractions, etc. Each room has a mini-fridge and free wireless internet access. The downside is its location right on 4th St. (the local name for Highway 101.) Not too noisy late at night... but if you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs for the early morning traffic. read more

The rate was super cheap and I only needed a quick place to stay, so it served its purpose. Room was stuffy and had a musty smell. I asked the lady for some more clean sheets and pillow cases so I could triple up on the mattress, and I already had my own blanket. Carpet needs vacuumed around the edges, stained throughout, and bathtub/shower needs to be replaced it's been patched so many times. Breakfast was muffins, a loaf of bread, bottle of Tree Top apple juice and coffee. So not terrible, I came to Eureka for the beach and smoke-free air so again, it served its purpose. read more

Needed a quick place to stay during our summer travels, found a very reasonably priced hotel along our way... Front desk was very quick and helpful to me was able to check in and get some rest. They also have breakfast every morning. Overall great experience, did not see or notice any issues with the service so 5/5 stars. read more

Crap hole no other words for it. Looked like blood stains next to the bed on the lamp. The rooms haven't been remodeled since the hotel was built. Didn't even stay the night it was so bad. Got ahold of Hotels.com and got a refund for the second night. Unfortunately couldn't get a refund for that night. The floor was stained everywhere the door to the shower was filthy. There was rust and mold stains on the walls. It was a place were people couldn't afford an apartment or it was the last place before homelessness. The dumpster was way past full. Crap was piled on the ground. Then there is homeless walking all over. Saw one peeing down over on another building. If there is no other choice and I mean no other choice would be an ok place to stay. But no more than one night I would highly NOT recommend this place. It isn't in a good part of town either. Terrible experience the bed was stained and had holes throughout the blankets. Toilet didn't work when I got there it took them til the next day to fix the situation, which is somewhat understandable but On my second night my girlfriend noticed a bug crawling on the pillow. Sure enough it was a bed bug!! I caught it with an empty water bottle and showed the manager to let him know the situation. His response to me was that "we spray once a week and they weren't there last night" (which is where I slept last night) he treated me as if I put them there myself to get a full refund. Me and my girlfriend immediately left to Trinidad to find a rest area and slept in my truck. The next day I went back to get my last night refunded because he wouldn't refund my second night. He still made it seem as if I was trying to fool him. I seriously will never go to any American best value inn again and even considering contacting the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU. After 8 hours of driving we arrived to the motel. First it took us a while to check in. It was night and the person in the office just talked through the window with us. Then we entered the room. The room was too old. The toilet sink was discolored and it seemed that it has been a long time that no one cared of it. Then the problems start. First the room heater was not working and we spent 20 minutes in the cold weather waiting for the room heater to work. After we found out that the room heater won't work, we went to the office and he gave us a small heater. We stayed 30 more minutes for the new small heater to work and the heater didn't work either. Weather was cold and we were very tired. We again went to office and came back with a new heater. The last one finally worked. Then we started unpacking and used the toilet! With the first use the toilet flush turned out to not flushing! Again we went to the office and he gave us a "force-cup plunger" to solve the toilet problem ourselves! So weird!!!!!!!! I haven't ever seen or heard it anywhere!! We expected that he would have change the room for us but he didn't!! Finally, we get settled! Room was not clean enough, we haven't even dare to take a shower in the morning. Office person didn't care that much about many problems we had with the room and how tired we were. Continental breakfast is almost a joke! It is just coffee and muffin! I would have expected more for than 54 dollars. Never recommend this place to anyone. read more

I've spent the last week hotel-surfing Humboldt, all cheap, two-star crash joints... But this is the only one I would never stay at again if they paid me to. Of the two stars it's supposed to have, I give it a zero. Sink stained and full of scum, mysterious scuzz on the baseboards, lime-encrusted showerheads. Paper-thin walls to give you a wonderful earful of Eureka's mainstreet... There is some powdery flaky substance that appears to be dandruff all over the bathroom counter. The front panel of the phone is sticking out The carpet is stained and torn to the point that it just needs replaced. On the plus side, the heater works.Person attending to check-in was rather rude, and had to clarify three times that I didn't have a dog. Now, honestly, these things wouldn't normally bother me too much; however... I just stayed one street down from here last night, for five bucks less, and had a clean, professional-looking, well-maintained room with a (comparatively) nice older woman to check me in. Also, the furniture looks INCREDIBLY tacky. More government-surplus tier than discount-tier. Nothanks. 0/10 would not crash again. Made me realize how lucky I am to run into the nicer places, though. read more
