Carlos was a great driving instructor! I took my first driving test months ago with a different instructor and failed. So I called Carlos and he prepared me really well to take my second driving test. On my first drive, he taught me as if I was driving for the first time. He tells you when you are doing well, which is very encouraging, and he tells you what you need to correct. If you have any questions, he will answer them really well. He is really friendly as well! He took me to my drivers test after 3 lessons and I passed! It was a great experience overall! I passed on the first try thanks to Carlos and America's Driving School. I took a ten-hour course, two of which were done right before my driving test. I am so glad I took the course instead of taking the test straight away. It really helped me to pass the test. I had driven before but stopped for about six years because I was in France. My Hawaii driver's license expired when I was in France so I had to do the written and driving test all over the again when we moved to Los Angeles. Carlos was a very good instructor, very easy to talk to. He took whatever I did wrong and corrected it and took whatever I did right and reinforced it. I ended up passing my driving test on my first try! The way the program works is no matter how much experience you have, Carlos starts you out as if you're driving for the first time. This in turn will correct any mistakes you didn't even know you were making and thoroughly improve your driving skills. When I was looking for a driving school for my son I was having a difficult time finding one that accommodated my son's busy schedule. Luckily I found Carlos through Yelp. Cannot recommend this company enough! I had called about 10 other driving schools trying to get my son his 6 hours the week before his driving test and not one company could help me. ( My fault for waiting until the last minute ) Every single one was booked for about 3 weeks out. Finally I called Americas Driving company and got ahold of Carlos, he as well was booked but told me he would switch his schedule around and was willing to squeeze my son in from 6am -8am just so my son wouldn't have to reschedule his driving test with DMV. Carlos even picked him up from our house every morning and dropped him off at school! Carlos totally came through, and like I said I couldn't recommend them enough! Carlos is such a great teacher and I can't imagine learning from anyone else! I did the 6 hours of behind the wheel training (3 lessons total) and with each lesson I felt more and more confident about my driving. Also, he makes sure to point out what you need to know and prepares you thoroughly for your driving test. I actually took my driving test today and passed (my first time taking my test) and even though I paid extra for an additional 2 hour driving lesson before my test, it was so well worth it because Carlos takes you through the area near your DMV so you can get used to the roads there. After my lesson, I went straight to the DMV to take my test and I ended up passing! I highly recommend this driving school. read more

Like most of us on Yelp, I do not normally write reviews but I had to write one for Carlos, he definitely exceeded all my expectations. I passed my driving test on the first try all thanks to him! I definitely recommend contacting Carlos for your driving lessons - he is extremely patient, calm, encouraging and super personable. I only had two lessons with Carlos, a total of 6 hours, on Saturday and Sunday and passed the test on Monday!!! If that doesn't say something about his amazing teaching skills, I don't know what will. He made me feel very relaxed and comfortable behind the wheel. He went over everything I needed to work on and know for the test. He also asked me what I would like to work on during our lessons and I suggested practicing around the streets near the DMV. I also asked if we could go on the freeway since I had never driven on the freeway prior to our lessons. I was extremely nervous to start driving on the freeway however, Carlos eased my nerves and made me feel super comfortable. I learned so much from him throughout our short time together! This absolutely exceeded my expectations. When all my friends had drivers Ed they talked about how awkward, rude, and boring their instructors were so I went in expecting the same, but I couldnt have been more wrong. I had Yader for my first three lessons and he was absolutely fantastic. He kept me calm and motivated, and corrected me when I was wrong without making me panic. I had never driven a car before but he definitely gave me confidence. He was super talkative and just had a great personality. My grandma even met him and just loved him. After my 3 about a month later I scheduled my DMV test as well as a refresher course before, and I was a bit sad I wasn't gonna have Yader but I got to meet Carlos and he was just as great. I was so nervous but Carlos put on some music, talked, and just completely calmed my nerves and I passed on my first try They are just a great team and I completely recommend them. Like many other of these reviewers, I have never had a driving lesson in my life. But, this is by far my best and first experience having an actual teacher behind the wheel. I have to say that Carlos is one of the best driving instructors I have ever had. He did his job while also doing an excellent job at being humorous, chill, and very kind. I was honestly scared to go on the highway, but he made going on the highway and driving itself not as scare as I had imagined it to be. Also, I had this weird fear of pumping gasoline because I always think that the gas station will explode, but Carlos showed me that gas stations don't explode when you pump gas into them and for that I thank him a lot. Unfortunately, I didn't get to see him before I took the driving lesson, but with his help I was able to pass the driving test in one try! I would also like to note that that day I called in and had another helpful driving instructor give me tips before the actual test which helped a lot! I honestly recommend this place to all my friends, so I hope they do come to this driving school. Carlos was an excellent driving instructor and his humor makes driving for me an experience I always enjoy doing no matter what! :D read more

Thanks to Carlos, I was able to pass my drivers test on my first try. Initially, I was nervous about passing because my permit expired soon and I only had a few weeks to learn to drive and pass the test and get my license. Luckily, Carlos helped me by explaining exactly what the instructors were looking for, and letting me drive around a variety of streets so that I would be ready for any driving situation. He also let me drive around the location of my driving test to get a feel for the route I would be taking, which was really helpful. When my mother signed me up for driving lessons, I was terrified. I had put off learning how to drive so long because it was much easier to be in the passenger seat. I remember being so stiff and tense at the wheel at first but after 10 hours of practice with Carlos I felt very confident in my driving ability! I thought that the driving lessons would be awkward and very silent for 2 hours but Carlos was a very kind, respectful, and easy going guy that made the driving lessons very informative and fun. I highly recommend Carlos as your instructor, he was very patient and efficient at explaining things and made the process of learning how to drive very smooth and enjoyable.
