I was happy because they seemed to be the only company on the internet that had it in stock. The money cleared my bank on 8/21/18, a Tuesday. I hadn't heard anything about shipping by the end of the week, so I emailed them that Saturday to see what's up. On Sunday afternoon, Steve wrote me back and said that he and the supplier are out of stock and he expected to ship "late next week". Bad juju allowing a purchase on a website of something that's out of stock. :/ But he asked if that was okay, and I told him it was. That week came and went without any further communication. I emailed him again on 9/1/18 asking what's happening since the allotted time frame had passed without any notification of shipping. Since it was Labor Day weekend, I wasn't expecting an answer until Tuesday, 9/4. But Tuesday came and went, no response. Wednesday, I emailed again and left a message on their Facebook page. Still no response. It's Thursday afternoon, 9/6, and I had my guy leave a message on the company's phone (order was in my dude's name), with a request for refund and the order number. At this point, even if he has my item in stock, I don't want to give him my money rewarding him for poor business practices. I understand that he may be a one guy shop, and perhaps he's got some crisis going on, but that's no excuse to not inform his paid customers. Since the previous reviewer has been dealing with this kind of problem for 5 or 6 months, I'm thinking that it's just their usual way of doing business.

My credit card was promptly charged for the full amount of $2,609.00 on that same date. I never received the unit I was charged for. Over the next five months, I emailed Steve multiple times requesting a status update and finally a refund of the item which was never delivered. None of my emails were answered. I finally got my credit card issuer involved on September 5, 2018, to dispute the charge for this item. Hoping the charge back from my credit card issuer brings this unfortunate situation to an end without the need to involve attorneys. ZERO stars if possible. Again, proceed with caution.

The store was clean, well-organized, fresh food, and easy to shop. I was able to find everything I needed without any issues, and the overall atmosphere was pleasant. What really stood out to me was the customer service. I was shopping with my 4-year-old daughter, who is currently learning and practicing her communication skills. She loves talking to people, asking their names, and making conversation when we're out. When we were checking out, Julie and Aurora were incredibly kind and patient with her. One of them was helping us at the register while the other was working nearby, and despite how busy the store was, they both took the time to engage with my daughter. She asked one of them her name, shared her age, and when she found out the employee had a little boy close to her age, she excitedly asked if she could see a picture. The employee happily showed her a photo, which I thought was such a sweet and genuine moment. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and patient. As a parent, I always appreciate people who take a moment to be kind to children, especially when they're learning how to interact with others and build confidence.     I called earlier this week to ask whether the bakery could prepare a Berry Chantilly Cake without…read morethe fruit on top--simply finished with the frosting. I was told this would not be a problem. When I arrived at the Newell Ave location around 9:30 a.m., the bakery was quiet. There were three employees in the back engaged in conversation, and it took a moment before they decided who would assist me. When a blonde bakery employee finally approached, she immediately and rather dismissively stated that they could not accommodate my request and that they "don't do that." I politely explained that I had called ahead specifically to confirm it was possible, yet my request was still refused without any effort to find a solution. The experience was unnecessarily inconvenient, especially after making the trip based on the information I had been given. I then drove to the Ygnacio Valley Rd location, where a woman bakery employee greeted me with professionalism and a genuinely helpful attitude. He-- the cake decorator accommodated the exact same request in less than five minutes, without hesitation. That level of customer service is what creates loyal customers. This experience highlighted a significant difference between the two locations. The Ygnacio Valley Rd team has consistently been welcoming, accommodating, and solution-oriented every time I've visited. Unfortunately, the Newell Ave location has repeatedly fallen short in providing the level of customer service one expects from Whole Foods Market. Consistency in service matters just as much as quality in products, and I hope the Newell Ave location invests more in customer experience moving forward.
