Cool place! Come by bike. Buy a big box of noodles or potstickers. Tie it onto your rack and ride home happily.

Love that the noodles are hand made. The flavors in this dish were absolutely incredible…read more Recommendation would be to get a spice level down from what you normally get. We wanted to do medium but went with mild and we were glad we did. Located conveniently in the Midtown Beer Garden.

There is plenty of seating there and It looked like there was a space for live music and string lights - probably a fun spot to grab dinner in the evening. We came for lunch and ordered the chao mian with chicken (spicy) and bian bian noodles (spicy). The noodles are cooked to order and we were served quickly. The serving sizes are huge. Neither one of us could finish ours. We'll likely order one dish to split next time, and that'd still probably be more than enough. The flavor of the chao mian was a bit lackluster. It was savory with a soy sauce flavor base, but got a bit repetitive with each bite. It was decently spicy and texture was there with the veggies, but I wish there was a way to customize with more spice or vinegar to taste. The bian bian noodles were more flavorful and also spicier. Fun noodle texture. There are also other vendors in the garden so you can pair a dessert, drink, or side with your meal while staying in the same area. Overall, a filling meal for a good price! Would come again to try their beef noodle soup.

They also serve rice dishes. As a blackbean noodle addict I can attest this is the best place hands down. They use potato starch in their batter for their pork which makes it so deliciously crispy but with that mochi type of bite. The jjang sauce is thick and doesn't disintegrate so you're able to dip the pork in it. Service is good and they give you free pickled radish! You can also ask for cut onion in vinegar if you're a die hard~

However, the dish I was most excited about, the Jajangmyeon, was disappointing -- the flavor was very mild and lacked depth. Unfortunately, the sweet and sour pork was not good at all. While it was battered and fried, most pieces were almost entirely batter with very little actual pork inside, which was quite disappointing. On a positive note, the staff were very friendly, and I really liked the clean and pleasant atmosphere of the restaurant. However, because the food did not meet my expectations overall, I'm giving this place

I knew that the next time I came to visit Portland I was going to have Mama Chow's again. It's been almost six years since I tried Mama Chow's for the first time and there's always that anxiety of wondering if the food is as good as the memory was since so much time has passed. I can confirm that the food was just as good as the last time I had it. I arrived a little after 12pm and Jeff Chow helped us. He was so nice about explaining the items on the menu to my partner, saying happy new year to us, and making us feel welcoming because we were his first customers of the day. I ordered the chicken wings with garlic noodles and it didn't disappoint. So much flavor in the garlic noodles and the sauce that comes with it. The fried chicken was amazing as well with the right amount of flavor and crunch on the outside and tenderness on the inside. My hope is that I don't have to wait another six years to come back to Portland, but when I do I'll be visiting Mama Chow's Kitchen again.

This food cart is only open Thursday-Sunday and today was my lucky day. The guy running things was super friendly; seemed like there were only a couple options on the menu today which suited me fine - garlic noodz it was! The fired chicken was very nicely done; crispy and juicy but. It greasy. The noodles had a nice, sturdy bite to them and the sauce was really good. I got mild but I need to believe in myself more and go for medium spice next time. Would love to try some of the other dishes in the future, if the stars align and I get the chance once more.
