Frank's Noodle House has been on our list of places we must go since Ben saw the Triple D episode featuring the hand pulled homemade noodles. As usual we ordered the things that were featured on the episode, which would include the dumplings and the chicken hand pulled noodle stirfry. I also got the egg flower soup which is basically egg drop soup. We actually didn't get to the restaurant until about twenty minutes before closing which is something we absolutely never do but it was the last day that we would be able to go to the restaurant before leaving that they would be open so we took a chance and they were more than accommodating to us. Our food came out in record time and though we felt bad about being there so late, they continued to let more restaurant patrons in because they knew that they could make the food so quickly, so it didn't make us feel so bad. The owner was there from the episode. So that was pretty cool to be able to see him.And of course, a ban that took pictures with the signature Triple D sign and spray painting logo. We would definitely return and the time, we would order things separately because we both like things a little differently, and the food was so good that we really didn't want to share with each other.

I was in town for a few days for a conference and asked the hotel front desk (Hyatt Regency Portland) if there were any good Chinese restaurants in walking distance. The front desk girl, who is Asian herself, recommended this place for hand pulled noodles. Say no more! I walked over and while I only had 30 minutes to place my order and eat as they close at 8:00 p.m. they were not too busy on a Friday night and I was able to be seated right away. The waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable and it appears that Frank himself was working the register. I was craving some soup as I have been away for work for a week and missing my Chinese food. The waiter suggested I add some hand pulled noodles into the wonton soup and I gladly agreed. The broth was super flavorful and chock full of chopped baby bok choy, carrots and mushrooms. Plentiful wontons and the most delicious hand pulled noodles. Be warned the noodles are super long which is not a bad thing but impossible to spiral onto your soup spoon and one piece without them slurping off. The pickled daikon was perfectly pickled not too sweet not too spicy and in the perfect portion size for a single diner like myself. I would definitely return if I was in the area again.

My wife showed me this place years ago, the food is delicious and tastes like it's home made. Definitely a place everyone should try. Thick hand pulled noodles that always hit the spot. It's nice being served by Frank himself. Excellent service and killer food!

Franks is in the pearl. They just did their grand opening today with a lion dance. They took over the old little big burger. Space is nice, staff friendly, and food good - about the same as the other locations

My wife and I stopped in here on whim. The waiter was extremely polite and happy, and checked in with us often. We had a seat by the front windows, and were able to watch the interesting people go up and down the street in the Pearl district. My wife had the hand pulled noodles which she thought were absolutely delicious. Mine were good, but I felt like they were a little too oily. We will likely come back and try some of the other Chinese dishes.

First time getting food from Franks and we had it delivered. We ordered the Fresh Salad Rolls, Mongolian beef, Stir fried noodles with chicken, Shanghai Baby Bok Choy and Handmade Dumplings. The food was ready and delivered on time. The salad rolls were pretty simplistic and plain, I'd order something else in the future. The handmade dumplings were really good especially with the dipping sauce. The bok choy was excellent! Cooked perfectly and the sauce was delicious. The Mongolian beef was also really good. The beef was tender and the vegetables were sweet and flavorful. The stir fried noodles was the dish I had been craving. The fresh hand pulled noodles were great. The chicken was tender. The portions on the main dishes were good sized and I was not disappointed.

I haven't been here in a long time, been to the Westside location but it was a nice date night to come here and have the delicious noodles. Our food was delicious, our service was great and I'm so glad we made it to the original Franks before our blazer game! The 1 for spice was definitely a good choice for me since I don't do spice but next time will ask for a 2 spice and we had egg rolls before our food and they were delicious.

Is this place wheelchair friendly? Looks like stairs out front. Are there outdoor tables? Thanks

You are correct, there are stairs in the front. I do not recall any tables outdoors. They are extremely friendly... my suggestion is to give them a call as they might be able to accommodate you. It is worth it – food is delicious!

The fried rice's flavor was pretty muted..I prefer a little saltiness in my fried rice and it honestly had barely any salt? It tasted like plain rice with a little soy sauce and maybe oil flavor? Just not very aromantic in general.. I disliked the Mandarin Crispy Chicken the most as I had an issue with the breading. It was very thick and each bite felt more breading than chicken..The flavor of the sauce was good but with how thick the breading was, the inside of the chicken had no flavor at all once I bit in.. Perhaps we ordered the wrong items, but I don't think I'll be back to try any others at least for now. It was a Friday night so it was busy but I'll say service was good and we had a minimal wait time!

The service was good and the staff was attentive during our visit. Here is a breakdown of what we ordered: Hand-Ripped Youpoo Noodle: The absolute star of the meal. The wide, hand-ripped noodles had the perfect chewy texture you look for. They were tossed in a deeply savory, slightly spicy chili oil sauce and topped with a generous amount of perfectly seasoned minced beef and fresh bok choy. It was incredibly satisfying and a must-order. Popcorn Chicken: This was a bit of a letdown. While it looked golden brown and came with a sweet chili dipping sauce, it was not special at all and lacked any unique flavor or punch compared to the other dishes. Spicy Chili Oil Wontons: These were packed with flavor! The wonton wrappers were delicate, and the filling was juicy. They were swimming in a robust, aromatic chili oil that had a nice kick and a touch of vinegar sharpness. Why 4 stars instead of 5? While the noodles and wontons were excellent and the service was good, the atmosphere was a bit uncomfortable. The restaurant was completely empty when we went, but it was super cold inside because the window was wide open. Between the chilly draft and the fairly generic popcorn chicken, it misses out on a full 5 stars.

Typically at most Chinese restaurants, especially fried dishes, you'll see a pool of oil at the bottom of the dish. This is not the case here, and their sauces also keep their oil usage to the minimum. The food doesn't feel as heavy, and they nail most of their Szechuan flavors well. Their service is always fast and friendly. There is a gentleman in glasses that is always happy to serve and answer your questions. He is always happy to pack your food for you to go if you have leftovers as well, which is a lovely gesture. They have very cute decorations inside, from lucky cats with fortune cookies in their mouths, or a painted wall with a Panda cooking delicious food. I'd steer clear from their soup dishes, most of them lack flavor. I highly recommend their Chopped Pepper Fish and their Jade Tofu items though. Very flavorful and not very heavy! Plenty of parking is available which is lovely for eating in Portland, do not let this spot be missed if you've never tried it!
