Bought a junk car with 2 wrong sized bald tires plus one spare with no replacement rim.(hope that made sense)it was extremely dangerous for us to be driving. When we arrived at americas we were approached before even getting into building by tim. He gave us a quote for 4 new tires and a rim as well which was just slightly out of our price range, so he went back to see what he could do. He came back and gave us an amazing quote. As they were fixing it they realized they didn't have the correct rim size, so he ended up coming over and telling us they went ahead and put 4 new tires on all the right size which meant he had given us 3 new rims as well at no extra charge. I've honestly never bought anything but used tires for any of my cars, but after the experience I had at this location and shop, I will be only purchasing through them. These guys work their butts off, it's the holidays and these guys keep on trucking no breaks taken, if you see any bad reviews just know it's subjective and everyone has an opinion, sometimes there is circumstances that delay things, that's life. Overall we had issues with the previous tires on the car and Eric made me a deal I couldn't refuse, even with a high volume of customers, they got us in and out in a decent amount of time. They might not be the best overall but they are certainly a very good tire company, that guarantee their work and are willing to go the distance for their customers. I've come here multiple times and customer service and accommodation has always been spot on. My issue has been with my tires. Which I don't blame this particular place but I do want to mention it. Last year I got a new set of rear tires, within a week one of those tires popped and it was replaced. I just got new front tires last week, and the SAME THING HAPPENED. My tire popped, straight up. Not a classic flat, didn't hit anything, not a small leak- it popped. The fact that this has happened twice is concerning. Additionally, I could not change my flat because they over inflated my spare in my trunk and it could not be removed. When i went in, I explained my situation, and what I needed. The guy was super helpful but my needs were not met. While my popped tire was replaced for free, my spare was not fixed. You can get emails to bring your car back in to rotate the tires on time. Then they rotate them for FREE. The tires are great and cost at least 35% less than Les Schwab. First off I've been a faithful customer of America/discount tires for approximately 10 years. I've had many tires and wheels installed here for reasonable prices and up until now been pleased. So now here's the final straw.. First set of tires installed I was promised a visa rebate(I was told that everything was completed correctly and received for processing) .. Still waiting 6 plus years, strike 1. Many of tire sets later about a month ago Went to get my tires rotated (free rotation for life right?..as usually scheduled) all of a sudden they can't do it because my tires are 40% wore down.. ? I cannot express enough how impressed I was with my experience at America's Tire in Chico. I had never thought of buying tires from them, but I heard that they would price match their competitors on tires that they sell. They were more than willing to match an online price I found that was $15 per tire cheaper than their price. They had the tires 2 days later and I was able to get an appointment that day for installation. Their mounting and balancing prices are very reasonable ($15 per tire) and the employees work quickly. The store is very clean and well lit. It actually looks new but I know it isn't. They have nice displays and signage. There were very comfortable chairs to wait in along with a giant window to watch your vehicle. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful along with being professionally dressed. In my opinion America's Tire has Les Schwab beat all around for service. I will be returning the next time I need tires. read more

I've been having tire problems after tire problems because my father buys old used tires. Not that I'm not appreciative of that but I decided to save up some money and just buy all new tires. Went to America's Tire Co and they were able to fit me in about 1 1/2 hrs before they closed. Customer service was great. The man who inspected my tires told me everything that was wrong with my tires. There was only 1 tire that really needed to be replaced as it had a lot of wear and tear. Other than that, the rest weren't all bad. However, I decided to replace all 4 so I could keep track of anything that will happen to the tires. All the staff are SUPER polite and you can tell that customer service is a high priority. The price is also excellent. I don't like the lobby, as there is nowhere comfortable to sit to wait. I was also disappointed because they advertise that they do a thorough inspection at the time of tire installation, but I wasn't given any info on what they checked or the results of the inspection. I thought maybe I needed an alignment, but as far as I can tell, they didn't even check. Did they check the brakes? But overall, I'm very pleased with my 4 new tires! read more

Called other brand name shops, searched Costco on line etc. Had the pleasure to speak with Michael on the phone, very knowledgeable, sent me to the web site to look remotely at what I was buying (I live 3.5 hours from Chico). I was driving home from redding today and got a flat tire. I changed it out for the spare to get me back to chico. A friend recommended Americas tire company to repair it. I showed up at 5:00 p.m. and was greeted with a smile and received unbelievable fast service. I thought I had done business with them before but apparently I had not. Had a flat tire due to a nail. I was very surprised when I was told there is no charge for flat repairs! Being on a fixed income this was a big relief! Also I will need new tires very soon. Overall price for a set of brand new tires was reasonable however the follow up and following through is somewhat questionable. Went and bought a brand new set of tires in first few days of August 2016, here it is mid part of October and my wheel cover problem is still not resolved! Drove my car into establishment with 4 brand new wheel covers (which was recently replaced due to unrelated incident) only to find out after I get home that 3 of my 4 new wheel covers were damaged when being placed back on by their staff. Company has tried to make it right but at this point I feel that the lack of research or proper documenting has caused this problem to go far beyond what should have taken place. I've been back to the establishment 3-4 separate occasions to only be told that either only 1 wheel cover was ordered instead of the three and then saying that they weren't aware that the wheels were aftermarket and the four wheel covers they finally got in would not fit! Understandably frustration has set it and I no longer feel that company has had any intentions of making it right. I was finally told that I can go into local box store and buy a set of new wheel covers and company would reimburse. I believe that it was their problem in first place to correct and now putting the burden on me to go get a replacement and get reimbursed has now been placed on my shoulders to resolve. A little disappointed in how both staff and management have attempted to resolve this issue and disheartened that they made me feel like I was a burden when the problem was originated by one of their own staff members. read more

Wow... I came here because I remembered that I came here before and these guys were really nice. After noticing my air pressure light was on and that I had to fill it up a few times I decided I needed it checked for a slow leak. I'm a former auto technician from Santa Barbara so I'm pretty picky about who I go to for my car since most of the time I know more than the guys working at most auto places. I had been around Chico and these guys seemed the most honest with the least BS and good people. So I was willing to spend my money here ,however after letting them check my tire for a leak the girl at the counter says with a big smile that they found a nail and patched it for free and reset the TPMS (sensor that tells you when your tires are low). Lol well... Guess they just won my loyalty. Shops I've been to have all charged me for repair. These guys are not greedy. Next time I actually need to spend money I know who deserves it. read more

This was the second visit to American tire in the last 10 days. The first visit was to rotate the tires. Which they were not able to because the front driver side was below Americans tires minimum tread; due to the very center of the tire wearing abnormally more than rest of the tire. either 2/32 or 3/32. But was still above the wear marks. I took the car to another tire store, to to have tires rotated. The first thing that bothers me is that My 60,000 tires which had 12,000 miles on them had both front tires down to 3/32 -5/32. Granted they had not been rotated yet, but 12k on a 60K tire. The salesman attempted to sell me 2 new tires, giving a large credit for low milage, but still would cost me about $100 (after 12K miles and 8 months) most of which were because of the various fees. I declined. A week later I got a screw in the tire that was 2/32 or 3/32, which was now on the driver side rear. The salesperson was going to try to sell me a new tire, since, It was again, below American tires minimum, but still above the wear marks. I then informed him I had bought insurance on the tire. To American Tires credit, they did honor the Insurance, and replaced the tire. However, there was a $13,xx change to "Register" the tire. They were fast, and did get the job done, and the tire works great. So Here is the issues I see: 1. There seems to be a fee for anything. Why do you have to register a tire, when it was "insured"? 2. The Salesperson was not aware that there was a insurance plan, and is starting to talk about the tire has to be replaced, now I am starting to feel like they are looking for a sale, and I'm not sure they would have caught that there was an insurance policy, which they sold me, 8 months earlier. 3. The sales person on the first visit wouldn't rotate tires, because they were "below" the Companies minimum? but above the wear marks. I give you credit for fast service. Courteous employees, a clean showroom. I have issues with the confusing number of fees I see, the policies, which seems to favor; sell them a new one, for any reason they can find. and that I had to depend on my knowledge that there was an insurance policy. I also give you credit that you always seem to have the size I need, which not all tire shops can say. You have earned a solid 6 on a scale of 10. To improve your score, the tire should have originally been replaced as a warranty due to the fact the middle of the tread wore abnormally on 1 of the 4 tires. A score of 8 would have been received if the 2nd salesperson had either bothered to look to see that there was a warranty on the tires before letting me know I would need to buy a new tire, or if I had at least felt he would have checked into it. A score of 9 was possible, if the tires would have been rotated in the first place, since none were technically on the wear marks. Your fee schedule keeps your business from getting a perfect score of 10. read more
