I came here 2 months ago to have my brakes replaced- I thought it would be pretty simple and not too expensive. first, they make you replace everything, not just pads but also calipers and charge full price. I did pay way more than expected, but that's not at all... only a couple weeks later my brakes were making LOUD metal on metal scraping noise and thunk noises and brakes were barely working. I was terrified my car was going to be in an accident thanks to brakes I thought I'd already replaced. Went back to the store- turns out I paid $500 for the mechanic to have done NOTHING. Thankfully, the new mechanic actually did replace my brakes like I already paid for but I couldve been in an accident. Worse experience ever at a tire center. i will NEVER be back read more

I did call quite a number of places to replace my battery, that after 6 years did not take to the cold. Nothing worst that assuming as long as is jump started and turning the ignition on no more than every two days for at the very least 2 days, no problem. Wrong! One place quoted me way over what the previous one had, plus insinuations of a free check up to determine the alternator and other electric components. Being so close to Halloween the back of the few hairs left went static. Doesn't take much input to assume that if I would have arrived there Sucker Time! Ended choosing Les Schwab in Notre Dame. Lady who answered checked vehicle name and style and quoted me the best of all the places. Her name Lianne? very helpful and courteous, but check this one out. My battery would not start the vehicle so when politely I asked if they would come by and do a jump start I would happily follow to their shop with this Beautiful Lady I was with. Also, did say that I was hoping no additional charge would raise the quoted price. She put me on hold briefly and came back to say no problem. Not that Chico is Big, but cinched the deal. Guy arrived with a tank of a truck with the company logo, and very efficiently revived the engine. Once at their shop Esme, awesome Lady treated me very well and of course I asked if ex Army would qualify for a discount (squeaky wheel gets the grease) and voila! Done! By now Mickey D was calling my name but we passed. Bigger fish to fry. Esme is on the money, courteous and respectful, and a friendly smile. Kind of a knock out too no disrespect intended. Took all of 15 minutes perhaps, Apple Pay paid, and Winco here we come. By the book, the crew was very cool as we entered through there. Hard working and makes one appreciate this great country regardless of ethnicity. Now, on a side note, I received a message from the Yelp team a couple of months back telling me a review I had posted about a place to eat had been erased. Kind of scolded for my take, which later I double checked the place and there were many low number of Stars. Frankly I took offense. Why? This is America, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Of course I just bought new tires less then 30 days ago from Les Schwab in Concord and they are not usually in stock. We found an option to get me home. Their staff is top notch. If they weren't able to repair my tire they offered to put my spare in for free which I thought was so nice! Luckily they were able to patch my tire. We went to them after being evacuated from the Park Fire to help us get a battery in! ( car died in Costco parking lot! Bought their battery but didn't get to install they do not install! Gave us something to start car! Drive to Les Schwab to see if they could help put battery in ( Flat out no because we didn't sell it to you) Fire engines all around us in Streets and they couldn't help out two elderly people out a battery in! We live in Los Angeles, but visit family in Chico several times a year...and this is the best it gets! The first time we came, we were on our way out of town and noticed that our tire was leaking air and would hold any that we tried to put in. We drove right across the street as they were opening, and they spent significant time locating the problem, then fixed our tire free of charge!! If I can give 0 stars I would.. miss leading and unprofessional, made me wait more than a month for a wheel shipment a week before the holidays, then they find out they had ordered the wrong size which didn't fit, after that they promised it would take 3 weeks for another set of wheels which also took more than a month. After a month the wheels they got were "sent the wrong size in the right box from the wearhouse" basically don't waste your time there. They look very busy when I went in but manage to get my alignments done in moderate time and included a 30 day warranty. The lady Leanne was nice. Before I came here I went to Oroville's Les Schwab first. They tried to hustle me for a wheel alignment. Got it done here for $56 otherwise it would've been $300 over in Oroville. Gave Les Schwab another shot. The manager at this location is the worst in the business. Called for an appointment and spoke with a great guy who gave me a price quote and told me to bring it in. Once I showed up, the so called manager said he was too busy to do the work. Took it to the East Ave. location and Jose got us right in. Jose was amazing and professional. Les Schwab, do youself a favor and get rid of the guy at Notre Dame location. I guarantee you know who he is. This can't be the only complaint on this guy. No one is that rude and unprofessional without people knowing about it. read more

I went to get gas in my class A motorhome and realized that the starting battery was going bad. I drove it over to the store and was politely greeted and in less than a minute a work order was generated. I took a seat in the waiting area and in about 5 minutes the technician told that he had checked the battery and it indeed was bad. He offered me a couple of battery choices. I made my choice and in less than 15 minutes the battery was installed and the technician said he had locked the engine compartment and it was time to check out. Good, quick, friendly service at a decent price, what more could you ask for? I should have asked for a Big Mac at the Donalds across the road (just kidding). Had a flat. Had AAA ready to tow the truck. Called LS to have them on deck. AAA showed me where the "spare" was (note: on trucks it's a full fledged tire) and put it on, filled with air, tossed flat tire in bed. Went to run errands. Tire looked low. Three minutes from LS, so skipped on over. Bada boom, bada bing; tire fixed, spare refilled, dunk tested, replaced under carriage. Checked out. No charge. No sales pitch whatsoever. Pleased as punch. So why one star demotion? At 1:30 pm, waiting room had 4 people. All women. TV tuned into poker. Loudly. Place stinks (to double headachy gag) of rubber. Could easily be divided into a full out 4 wall room. But seriously. Free. Daym! read more

I had a wobble in my van today. Went there to have it looked at. They said it was just worn out tires and quoted me $680 for 4 ply and said they didn't do six ply for my van. (Ford t240) I went to Bob's tires for a second opinion. They found tread separation on my back tire! Showed it to me and sold me four 6 ply tires for $500, with a higher mileage rating. Much better customer service at bobs tires on esplanade also, at less swab they wanted me to sign a tablet but wouldn't show me what I was signing. Smh read more

I needed a new battery for my daughter's car. Batteries Plus was incapable of installing a new battery due to the complexity of the engine compartment and the location of the battery. We called Les Schwab and Wayne, the manager, advised that he had a battery available and that they could install it. We drove the two blocks to Les Schwab and we were immediately greeted by Wayne, the manager. He immediately took the vehicle, installed the battery and we were on our way. I went in to have a screw fixed, they said it would take an hour an took my keys. They called me an hour later to tell me they couldn't fix it...I don't recommend every going to Les Schwab. On top of that, when I asked for a quote on rotors and pads they proceeded to tell me they would only do the brakes if they did the calipers too. Anyone who knows cars knows the calipers are not a wear part. Honestly, I think the average persons lack of knowledge of vehicles is the only place that keeps Les Schwab open... I don't want anyone to think this review is about this particular Les Schwab, it's all of them. After seeing his reply, my point is only furthered. I spoke with the BMW service guy with 25+ years of experience and he said in all his years had replaced one caliper due to failure. That vehicle had been in an accident. read more

I would give a better rating if i could, these guys were awesome today. I got a screw into the outside edge of my tire after stopping by work, walked out to my car and heard it hissing and found the screw. I didnt have a spare and my boss suggested booking it to les schwab. I pulled up and one of the guys was helping me before i even headed inside, i explained the issue and he checked for the tire i needed, they didnt have a used tire identical to it, so he told me the price a new one would be, i told him if he doesnt have a used one that would work in stock then id go ahead and buy a new one, instead of sticking me with a higher price tag he found two matching used tires, did twice the work to change both front tires (in like 10 minutes!!), and only charged me 50 bux. Thank you. I will definitely be coming here for any tire needs in the future and will suggest the same to anyone i know. read more

Poor customer service. Went in to the store on Notre Dame blvd with a Battery receipt and 72 month Warranty. Battery was dead but still had 2 years left on the warranty. The store refused to honor the warranty because i was not the owner of the vehicle even though it was the vehicle they put the battery in. I read the entire warranty and it does not say anything about the warranty being void if a person other than the owner brings it in. It does say the battery must be in the car that it was bought for which it was. The manager had nothing to say when i pointed that out other than they wont honor it. So beware this company will not stand by there warranty! Never buying from them again! read more

I am writing this review for both Les Schwab and A-1. I am going out of town this weekend for a wedding and was tasked with getting the lady friend's car road-worthy for the trip. She asked that I take the car to Les Schwab, stating she felt comfortable going there as they have numerous locations and could further service the car during the trip if needs be. I have no love for big-box anything (Walmart, McDonald's, etc.), but I'm no fool and know better than to question her wishes. The guy at Les Schwab was super nice. He fit me in to their busy schedule (yeah, f-in right, there were empty bays when I got there!), and said they would have a look at it. I got a call a couple hours later. He told me the bushings in the control arms are bad, that they cannot be ordered separate of the actual control arm itself, and that they must be replaced in order for him to do the alignment. This turned an already overpriced $85 alignment job into an $800 repair. Now, this guy was really nice, but not so much that I was going to allow him to enter me from behind, if you know what I mean! I elected to skip the full anal assault and just had them rotate the tires. His offer to do so and write me up a proper estimate for the job was both cordial and nice. I retrieved the car this morning and was really stoked to see they had not charged me for the rotation- rectal crisis averted! As soon as I got in the car, I discovered the little groin punch thrown in for good measure. The car was taking dives like some NBA pro trying to get paid in his contract year! I'm guessing all the really nice people at Les Schwab have are as dim as they are nice, because Helen Keller could have told you the car was way frickin' worse than the day before. So I drive over to A-1, and here's the no ess, h, eye, t rundown: told them my predicament; they took a look at the bushings and told me that they are indeed fine; they rotated the tires back into proper place but refused to align the car saying it didn't need it; told me to get some new tires on the car in the somewhat near future, but to not stress it now and have a good trip. All this for the price of this yelp review. A-1 has integrity, they have a cool-ass shop dog, and they have my business for as long as I live in Chico or anywhere within reasonable driving distance. Les Schwab may have something else of mine, and they can have it for lunch, but I can't say what it is because I haven't used profanity yet. Anyways, go see Butch. Good people, good service. This place is great. I had a noise in my front passenger tire area for a while now and every time I went over bumps or uneven roads it made a loud clunking noise like the wheel was going to come off. I couldn't figure out the problem and really was not hoping to pay hundreds of dollars to get it inspected and fixed so I took advantage of their free inspection. I took it in, gave them the key, and an hour later they told me they found the problem (missing a bolt form the calipers) and fixed it no charge.
