This place is kind of a dump! Smells like mold in the whole hotel. The carpet is filthy and looks like it's from the early 80s. The front lobby looks like a storage area at this place. The room smells like mold and stink. I'm surprised I did not wake up with bed bug bites. I had decent sleep though, once I was settled in. This is a last resort booking. I will/would not stay here again. The breakfast was eggs and sausage patties. The bread was OLD and hard. They only had wheat. The juice was disgusting and tasted like watered down sugar water. What a Great Experience! This hotel had a real Wild West feel to it. From the moment we entered, the staff were super friendly and accommodating. The room was a nice size and came equipped with a small refrigerator and microwave. The taxidermy of the animals was interesting and fun to take photos with. The carpet was outdated, but not bothersome. Hotel is in a great location with easy access to Yellowstone, the Rodeo, Buffalo Bill's Museum Center, and the local town. Front staff very friendly. We stayed just for an overnight. Location is good withon the city. Not within walking distance to downtown area. However, other businesses within walking distance. Decorated in the western outdoors feel. Decorations matched Cody's feel. We went with this rating based on the mattress and pillows. We had a king. Anytime my husband or I moved during the night you felt like you were being shaken hard, to the point where we woke each other a couple of times. Mattress was also very soft which could contribute to lack of sturdiness. Additionally, the pillows were very soft no support. I needed two to feel like my head wasn't falling off backwards. read more

I'm going to give this place high marks because of the triple queen room, which tends to get rented out frequently during high traffic times (like the time we stayed there). It was worth the upgrade. It consists of a large bedroom and living area, then tucked away behind the TV wall is a kitchenette sink and counter area, and then behind a door is the bathroom (which is handicap accessible size). The interesting thing about this room is the private door to the pool. My kids loved it! And it made it super convenient the next morning when they wanted to swim before we checked out. Also, the stuffed live-animals were the real deal and quite appealing and interesting! Originally, I thought those animals would be too much, from other pictures I'd seen, but no- they add to the Yellowstone theme as my son and I went around and picked out the animals we saw earlier that day in the park! We had a blast! Overall it was a good place to stay. Several amenities. Noise wasn't too loud either, especially considering we shared a wall with the pool. I'd stay there again. And please excuse the messy photos, I grabbed these just as we were leaving this morning. Lastly, the coffee and hot water (for tea) was available 24/7 in the lobby. Props to the staff for keeping it well stocked and tidy! And breakfast wasn't too shabby either. (The eggs were watery and came from powder, we think; but the yogurt and waffles and cereal were nice!) read more

Hotels are pricey everywhere lately because americanos are doing more road trips than flying apparently. We had to ask for several things that should have been supplied--toilet paper/Kleenex/shampoo/soap/password/room cleaned. They required taking our temperature before they would clean our room if we stayed more than one night. Really?! They also don't provide complimentary breakfast because of Covid. Hmm. The bed was comfy. Blackout curtains worked well. The fridge and microwave are tiny. Good tub with sink outside the bathroom. Plenty of parking. The stuffed dead animals in the lobby are creepy. read more

Bed was like a sack full of doorknobs. otherwise the room was ok, the breakfast palatable, although the OJ was watered down. what kinda torqued me was the older lady clerk. We tried to cancel a day, well within the 24 hr deadline, because, as we told her, Yellowstone was closed. She took just too much satisfaction in our dilemma. She smirked as said, "Well, I guess you should have done your homework better, huh. It doesn't open until the 3rd. You should have paid closer attention". First the good news: very comfortable bed, and quiet. Tons of hot water out of the shower head in the morning. Now for the bad news: 1) unhelpful, somewhat surly staff. We checked in and were not told that all the soaps, cups, coffee and other amenities are AT THE FRONT DESK, NOT IN THE ROOM (COVID period), and what should have happened is the lady who checked us in should have OFFERED IT TO US AT TIME IF CHECK-IN! 2) lousy drapes. Beware: the hotel pool and breakfast and closed indefinitely. The hotel did not notify us of this until after we paid for the reservation and showed up for check in. The pool was very important for my kids and the hotel manager refused to allow us to cancell and receive a refund. None of the staff were wearing masks and the wifi was so slow it was unusable. There are much better places to stay in the Cody area with more honest hotel managers. read more

While we paid a bit more than several other hotels in Cody, we felt the price was appropriate for the amenities. We stayed for 5 nights while visiting Yellowstone NP for a week. Room: clean and comfortable. We prefer to decline room service and just ask for new towels and soap/shampoo as needed. Mini fridge and microwave were clean and functional. Shower, toilet, and sink were clean. Air conditioner worked well. No issues with the TV. VERY QUIET COULD NOT HEAR NEIGHBORS. Breakfast: plenty of options for a continental style breakfast. Muffins, toast, cut up fresh fruit, oatmeal packets, 4 types of cereal, waffle machine, scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs, 2 types of yogurt, cream cheese, peanut butter, jellies, sausage. Coffee cart with hot water, tea, hot cocoa, regular coffee and decaf coffee available ALL DAY, not just for breakfast. Other: every afternoon the front check in desk has a basket of cookies available. The lobby/breakfast area was spacious with several TVs for news etc and a computer was available. Swimming pool was fine -- children enjoyed it. Lobby area is full of stuffed animal replicas -- mountain goats, black bears, etc. Ample parking. Front desk ladies were accommodating and helpful -- we daily asked to fill a large thermos with hot water to make tea, and they were happy to help. read more

Looked new from outside with impressive sculptures. Inquired with front desk attendant the age of hotel and she said it was "new." Upon entering our room 108, it was served with popcorn ceilings! No shower water pressure. Would not recommend unless you are a taxidermist as the lobby was overwhelmingly filled with stuffed wildlife. Would not stay again. Overpriced at 140 per night as front desk did not offer any discount. read more

After 10 phone calls trying to figure out why we were charged around $20 more than we were quoted and being hung up on about 4 times before even arriving we were informed at check out by the front desk that we were charged $10 per child on top of our original quoted price. The people at the front desk were friendly at check in and I had no real problems with the hotel room itself. The only issue was that there was no elevator and it was a bit of a problem with a ton of luggage. It's not bad for the original quoted price just outdated. read more

Horrible service. Beautiful hotel but we made reservations in March and when we showed up the room they had available for us was under the amount of beds we were supposed to have, and they won't accommodate and give us another room. They offered to go to their sister hotel that was way less quality, then decided to offer one room for way more than we originally booked months ago. Finally they gave us one room here for one night and two rooms at the worse sister hotel for two nights for 200 dollars more than we originally booked, in March!!! Ridiculous. Also the two women at front desk were constantly giggling at the situation and talking in another language to one another laughing. read more

Amazing! The staff is very friendly and helpful and you are greeted with warm cookies upon check-in. The rooms were very spacious and very sanitary. The rooms also include a mini fridge and a microwave! Another perk is they also leave mints for you in your room upon arrival and every time the maid cleans. The Wi-Fi was easy to access and had no problems. The hotels' breakfast has a variety of breakfast foods and the food is decent. The parking lot is spacious and the location is great for going to Yellowstone. The decor was rustic with many animals on the walls. My family thought they were neat like going into a Cabelas. Overall, this is an amazing hotel and I would definitely recommend it. read more

The hotel room was clean. Plenty of parking. Check in is 3:00pm. We arrived early and was told to come back at 3. Breakfast starts at 5:00am. The country biscuit and gravy was delicious! But, there is no elevator! Husband has bad knees and it's a struggle to take the luggages up and down the stairs. Another complain, there's no exercise room in the premise. If you want to use the gym, they have an arrangement with Anytime Fitness (a couple of buildings over) that you can use. read more

This is the second time we've stayed at Americinn, and we enjoy the place. The two queenbed room was a tad wider and longer than most chain hotels, and was very welcome. Rooms and beds are clean, and there are two sinks, one in the bathroom and one just outside of it! Flat screen tv, but we didn't turn it on. Window opens wide full for the cool and quiet, fresh night air; but if you don't want that, then the a.c./heater works great. Staff is very friendly, and are welcoming. The breakfast isn't too over-exciting, but certainly adequate. Coffee and a good selection of hot tea with cookies are available anytime. This area is quiet and green in the summer, with a deer walking around outside both times we were there. read more

1,000 thumbs up!!!! If we are ever in Cody again, we will stay here!! Amazing mounts throughout the hotel, clean pool/jacuzzi area and such a nice front desk worker. They had coffee with all the creamer you could think of, flavored syrups, tea, and spiced cider available throughout the entire time we stayed. The hotel prices in Cody were much higher than we expected and the Americinn Lodge and Suites were maybe $10 more than many hotels, including Super 8, so we thought, why not!! The front desk man upgraded us to a suite with a jacuzzi and a fireplace in it just to be nice and was such a great surprise when we opened our perfect room. Front desk had toothpaste when we ran out. Our stay was more than comforting. Staying there was a no brainer and I will recommend it to ANYONE going to Cody! read more

I stayed at this AmericInn in Cody, WY on a family trip to Yellowstone. There is NO automatic door at the entrance and NO elevator to the second floor rooms. How is a person in a wheelchair or with any other physical disability supposed to enter this building or go to their room if it's upstairs?? I had a hard enough time getting in the door and carrying my stuff up the flight of steps without any physical limitations!! I'm pretty sure this facility does not comply with the American's with Disabilities Act!!! read more

Stayed two nights while touring Yellowstone. Reserved two rooms for Thursday and Friday nights. One room was a weekday rate for Thursday and weekend rate for Friday. The second room was weekend rate for both nights. At checkin, we were told the manager would have to correct the discrepancy and a copy of the reservation was made. At checkout, the assistant manager was very unfriendly to say the least! When we told her about a 20% discount we had she replied, "that's already been applied"! When I mentioned the water to the sink in room 220 was piped incorrectly, ( a plumbing code violation) she replied, "I trust you figured it out", rather than, I'll have maintenance look at it! Very unprofessional in my opinion. The breakfast was acceptable if you arrived early but the only thing I witnessed being refilled was a few muffins and coffee, which by the way, would make truck stop coffee seem like gourmet! This was a very bad experience in our opinion! read more

My husband and I booked a 2 night stay thru Wyndham. We called the hotel directly 2 days prior to arrival and asked if we could come a day earlier, for a total of 3 nights. We had originally requested a 1st floor room. We were told that an additional night would be ok, but they would have to make a separate reservation for the 1st night. That was ok but I specifically asked if we would be able to stay in the same room for all 3 nights on the 1st floor. I was told yes, no problem. So when we arrived, and were checking in, we were told our room would be on the 2nd floor. There was no elevator and we had a lot of luggage. And although I am not handicapped, I have difficulty with stairs and carrying luggage upstairs was not an option. It was a good thing we had arrived early and the clerk was able to maneuver the rooms so could stay on the 1st floor for 3 nights. We had a king bed, mini fridge and microwave. The hotel is older but is very clean and has had updates. The bathroom was a little small but well appointed. Furnishings were log cabinish. Our bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Best that we had on our 2 week trip. I would stay here again but would make certain they understood we needed a 1st floor room. read more

This was our third and last year staying here. We always gave it 4 or 5 stars. We made our reservations for a handicapped room with a room with 2 queen beds connected in January. When we arrived we were given 2 connected queen rooms. We were charged more than our original reservation. When trying to get answers from the front desk people we became very frustrated. They told us it wasn't their fault it was the computers fault. Having been in the computer business for many years, I guess that is possible but based on their apparent incompetence I would assume that they did not follow directions. They both had difficulty speaking English and when I started to ask direct questions they refused to answer. When my partner spoke to the manager again there was no apology and no reduced rate for having a room we didn't want. She was also told that the manager had watched the video and we were rude. I hope the general managers and someone from Wyndham watches the video. I may have been rude, but they were incompetent. read more

Upon check in your told about all their amenities that they may offer but they really do not provide. First evening for coffee the decaf was out the next night it was empty and I asked for some fresh coffee and I was told the pump was broke and you need to pump it. After about fifty pumps I had half a cup of cold coffee? The rude desk clerk informed me it was made when she came in. I saw her when she arrived about 6 hours ago. Also, this hotel does NOT have a elevator and only steep stairs! All of the handicap parking is only at the main entrance and none is provided by the other entry ways. I the evening they put out a small basket with 6 cookies that they refill but not often. The breakfast isn't any better. The yogurt is poured in a large bowl for everyone to dip from, one little kid was picking his nose and putting it in the food. Our suite only had two towels to use for the shower and jacuzzi. Again I went to the front desk and I was told that was all I was suppose to have. So in a king suite you get two towels, one bar of soap to share between both sinks, jacuzzi and shower. Also, one bottle of shampoo and conditioner that was not replenished after the first night. The hotel is gorgeous on the outside but the inside is still in the 80's. The lobby is full of stuffed animals staring at you while your trying to eat. In the evening the lobby was filled with sitting around drinking beer and being loud. This is not a hotel for families with small children. Also, my emailed confirmation dates didn't match the dates requested so I called and they wouldn't cancel because I made my reservations with 48 hours of arrival so my only choice was to take the only room they had available at a lot higher rate. I wonder if this was a mistake or not? I feel I should have been able to cancel not pay a higher rate for the front desk mistakes. Which they never apologized for either and really didn't seem concerned since they were getting their money anyway. read more

About an hour away from the East entrance to Yellowstone, AmericInn is a good place to stay - whether you're spending one night or a few. Plenty of parking and very friendly, efficient staff. Our room was large and clean with comfortable beds and decent wi-fi. The included breakfast is filling but the lounge where it's served is a little cramped and it was difficult to find place to sit. Kids will love the stuffed animals displayed in and around the lobby area. read more

***Update - AmericInn National customer service sent me a refund check. They did the right thing, but still avoid the AmericInn in Cody*** I have no problems with the staff or the hotel. It was a nice property, comfortable beds, good breakfast, and friendly staff. However, the management was terrible. They seemed more focused on implementing policies to charge the customer more money than having a satisfied customer. It started at check in. There was a double reservation. When I booked through Wyndham I never got a confirmation. I called Wyndham they didn't have a record of my reservation, so I rebooked. When I arrived I had 4 rooms instead of 2. I was charged almost $400 in cancellation fees for what was obviously a mistake. Management basically told me to call someone else, they received the reservations and it was my fault.I have 3 young children and they charged me extra for having 5 people in a double queen room. I guess I'm supposed to rent a second room for a 4 year old? They say having more than 4 people in a room is against the law, but they're willing to put mandatory fees on your room and break the law. The Holiday Inn in Cody is much more accommodating and is fine with 2 adults and 3 minors in a double room. The AmericInn in Cody is a nice property and I wish we could have stayed there, but it's hard to stay somewhere when it feels like the management has it out for you and only cares about figuring out how to squeeze more money from you. read more

WOW - what's NOT to like! I can't understand the lower reviews... 3 of us stayed in the suite - 3 beds. VERY quiet, even being next to the pool. Very clean, NO smells! good breakfast, cool western decor but not touristy. Friendly staff, laundry, big room, no noisy plumbing, everything worked. Lots of light, lots of storage space, convenient to Bubba's, the rodeo & the Cody center! AND - there was a teddy bear waiting on my bed! Great for families or whoever! read more

I just stayed here 7 nights during Christmas week 2017. The staff was as pleasant and helpful as you could possibly ask for. The room was perfect and the bed just sucked me in and knocked me out. That's important. It was sub-zero outside but cozy inside. Their breakfasts were above par. I especially liked having coffee available 24/7. I would happily stay here again. It is my opinion that this hotel is absolutely frightening. The hallways are dark and dank. The front desk staff creepy. The rooms looked as though someone with SWAT training ought to check out the corners first. In fact, my overall impression was that the hotel was so reminiscent of the Shining that I promptly left and checked in at another hotel down the street despite the fact that the rude staff charged me a full nights stay (more than $200) just for peeking at their room before running away. It is my opinion that you'd be better off sleeping in your car. read more
