Not only was the room beautiful (2nd floor rooms have a high ceiling), but the location was incredibly convenient, the price was fantastic for the quality of the room and location, and the staff was awesome! The front desk gave us great recommendations for local restaurants and were very friendly and welcoming. The room and grounds were neat and clean. We were in a room on the end of the building so I don't know if that impacted the noise, but we heard nothing. It was the best sleep I got on vacation! My kids loved to pool too! The only negative is that the parking lot is tight. We found a spot every time we returned so it wasn't a dealbreaker in any way. With so many giant vehicles, it could be difficult to navigate. Even so, if we ever find ourselves in or around Cody, we will absolutely choose Moose Lodge again. read more

This was a very nice, family/local owned and ran hotel/lodge. Our room was a single King Classic. Size, layout and comfort was very nice. It was on second level only accessible by steps (note to ask). Staff entire stay were pleasant and helpful about restaurants (local favorites) and activities. The room was a good size for solo travel, very clean. The bed was comfortable. Location is great, right by downtown and the Buffalo Bill Center. The best part was the staff. Amelia was very personable and informative when I checked in, and Jeff was nice enough to let me back into the room after I checked out, so I could retrieve the beer I'd left behind on accident. The lodge is conveniently located in downtown which was very nice. The room was very clean but small. The bathroom is basic and small but clean. There is a small table in the corner and a mini frig by the door. it would have been nice to have some hooks on the wall to hang clothes. Staff was very nice. They have coffee and sweet rolls for breakfast which is not our preference so we didn't try them. read more

I'm not sure of the reason for the lower-than-expected overall reviews score, but for us, everything was perfect. 5-Stars. The price was reasonable, the place was very, very clean and quiet, and the staff was helpful, friendly and welcoming. They had a wonderful coffee bar in the lobby. The beds were the most comfortable I've experienced in a small motel. Moose Creek is in a great location for tourists as you can walk to the Buffalo Bill Museums complex, the infamous Irma Hotel, and dozens of local shops, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. I would Definitely go there again and highly recommend it to others. read more

Check out the giant moose! This place is pretty good! We came here looking for lodging, and they were really good about showing off the rooms, giving us different options, and really working hard to make things work out at this motel. The front desk was friendly and ran a tight ship. They got us checked in quickly and efficiently. We discovered that there's an indoor pool here. The front desk didn't mention it. It's small, but seems like it's heated in the winter. There's also a real ice maker here, but with a sign asking you not to fill up your giant coolers. Reasonable. The room was good sized, clean, well furnished. The shower/bath combo was much more complicated than necessary. They had two signs informing the lodger how to operate the showers. Our room looked out on an alleyway, and occasionally a man smoking a cigarette would stand outside our window and look in, or talk loudly on the phone outside the window. Not a great view. Parking was easy- the motel is built in a U around the parking lot. Some of my favorite parts of this motel are the artwork in the parking lot- like I said, check out the giant moose, and the carving of the eagles at the apex of the roof and the walls. There's more at the front desk. Location is good- it's right on Sheridan, the main street of Cody, so there's lots of things to see and do on this main drag. They give you coupons to the businesses next door when you check in! Cool! read more

We were very happy we chose to stay at Moose Creek. We really enjoyed the new owner, who frequently can be found behind the front desk. He is a very kind man and gave us recommendations, many of which made our experience perfect. The place is a cute, cabin feel for a stay at a hotel. The pool is inside, we loved that. Its an hour drive to Yellowstone, a short drive to some activities, and a short walk to stores, bars, cafes downtown. The location was perfect. The hotel was frequented by families, couples, and a baseball team when we stayed. Check it out, we loved it! read more

Moose Creek Lodge is a friendly place that works hard to accommodate its guests. When we checked in, they took the time, even though they were fully booked, to shuffle rooms so that we could have a ground floor drive up. The room was neat and tidy and very clean. We stayed four nights, and the room make up, upon request, was excellent. Our room seemed to have been recently renovated, in a style appropriate to a western cowboy town. The hotel is conveniently located for walking around downtown, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Coffee is available from 0600 to 2200 in the office, and there was a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room. The little self serve laundry was clean and new; quarters and detergent are available at the front desk. read more

We just spent a week at Moose Creek Lodge and Suites in Cody. Everything was awesome! It may look like an old motel but it's much more. A few days before we arrived, I called to ensure that we were booked into a ground floor room as my husband who was wounded in the Marine Corps has difficulty navigating stairs. The lady I spoke to made some adjustments to our reservation to accommodate him. Upon our arrival, we were shown to our room which was in a former single family house behind the original lodge. There were only 2 steps for my husband to manage but he did fine with the double handrails. We were not in a room, we were in a small well appointed apartment with 2 beds including a private bedroom, a kitchenette and a lovely bathroom. There was a cool little k-cup style coffee maker and a basket of different flavored coffee and creamers. Nice touch! The bed was insanely comfortable, but the pillows were meh. I'm sure the new owners and management will continue to improve upon this excellent foundation. Throughout our stay, we were treated like old friends. Our every need was addressed. When I had stomach trouble from eating so much rich food, I had access to as much peppermint tea as I needed. The housekeeping staff is nothing short of amazing. Our room was always neat and well stocked by sweet ladies who took great pride in their work. I wish we could have stayed longer. The front desk staff and manager, Petra were informative about all things Cody. If you asked a question, they knew the answer. I want to go back already, but it will have to be next summer. Absolutely thrilled with this property. I put in a request for a framed photo of PeeWee Herman in our room, which I figured would have been lost in the shuffle as I had booked through a travel site. Totally forgot about it, but to my absolute delight, there PeeWee was, on the desk right when I walked in. I laughed so hard, which was just what I needed. To say the staff goes above and beyond would be an understatement. Such a small gesture can have the biggest impact. Not only is the staff amazing, but the property was clean and welcoming. For as simple as this hotel is I really want to give it lesser rating, but I really don't have very many complaints. Everything was clean everything worked. They have the tiniest workout room I've ever seen, and the pool heater was not working so the pool was 50° even though it was supposed to be 85. This place came under new management this year and thank goodness!!! The lobby offers snacks, drinks, medicine, souvenirs, and coffee etc.. They are so nice and accommodating. Rooms are very very clean and comfortable! we got an amazing rate compared to anything in town! They are right in the heart of cody with the Irma less than a block away and other bars and restaurants within total walking distance.. and I hate to walk. They give you a food voucher for a near by restaurant for breakfast that is also a block away. AND!! We also found out they are preparing true "suites" for people to come in the off season with kitchenettes etc... and we are so excited about that! After this experience we won't stay anywhere else! We highly recommend this hotel "Moose Creek" in Cody Wyoming. It had that Cabin feeling & our room was perfect. The owner & manager was super nice & helpful! So was his assistant that looked like Ed Sheeran! The room we had was super nice and clean! And great air quality. This hotel is on a handy street as it is in walking distance of shops & restaurants. Also it's a perfect spot to watch a parade when the town has them because the hotel is right where the parade comes & parking would be no issue for you as your vehicle is already at the hotel! They also have the best hotel gift shop! Lot's of cute Moose stuff!! They have a coffee bar & it was the best ever that I have seen in any hotel! It also is very close to Yellowstone. The Moose Creek is under new ownership and wow does it show. The family owned business had newly remodeled rooms, the lobby is also updated and looks great. We stayed over the 4th of July in a room we had stayed in before. Before the room was dark and dingy. Now, wow! It has been totally flipped. The room has a mini kitchen, updates galore. Absolutely the rudest owner I have ever met. My son who is autistic has a real service dog. Yes, an actual full fledged service dog from Canine Companions for Independence. A world-renowned business who provides service dogs for people with disabilities. The owner saw me take the dog on a quick walk after we checked into the room. My husband had stayed behind to watch the kids. When I came back from the walk this lady came stomping over to our room and banged on the door. I opened the door and the owner began yelling at me and said we needed to leave. She said we can't have pets and I said the dog isn't a pet it's a service dog. She then demanded the paperwork. I said you can't ask for it, it's against the ADA. She continued screaming and yelling at us, barged into our room, and used our room phone to call the police. Meanwhile, the owner claims the dog barked and people complained. I said it was impossible because we had just been on a walk and the dog doesn't bark unless told to. The woman continued to berate us in front of our children and demanding proof of certification. I pulled up the law and tried showing her what she can and can't ask for. This woman refused to read the law. Mind you, this whole time my autistic son is crying in the room, shaking and holding onto his dog. A police officer showed up and the officer was extremely kind. The officer tried calming the owner down, but the owner didn't care. Granted this incident is a civil issue and law enforcement couldn't do anything about it. So, after driving all day, we had to leave and go to another hotel. I filed a complaint with the ADA and requested education be provided to the establishment. My husband wanted to sue the hotel, but after some thought, we decided the best way for this owner to be taught a lesson was to receive an education in ADA law. AVOID AVOID AVOID As a proud American who was born and raised in the US, I am deeply sadden to see such racism from the owner of this hotel. Upon checking in, my non-white co-workers and I were interrogated. Asking many strange questions. I have stayed in my share of hotels but this was more on my background (strange). The owner looked at us like we were there to commit a crime. I wasn't sure if we were going to be 2 or 3 people in a room because one of my co-workers was planning on flying back that same day and not spend the night. She then flipped out on us and promptly reversed the charge on my credit card. She yelled (yes YELLED at us) and told us "your kind is not welcome in this town" (I kid you not, she had a look of rage). We left deeply hurt by her behavior. Luckily we found the Cody Motor Lodge down the street. The staff welcomed us with open arms. Sad to see the owners of Moose Creek Lodge are racist and proud of it. read more

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. We live in the Greater Yellowstone area and wanted a place to conveniently explore Downtown Cody. Location was great. Would have given more "stars" for the place (it was clean, TV reception fine, bed was comfortable - although the mattress itself was stained); however, the staff, as other reviewers have stated, are curt and not very friendly. We understand that it can be a busy season dealing with tourists; but, attempt a smile. And for the older woman bashing tourists and coworkers in the doorway for the laundry (which is adjacent the check in counter), try to hold your petty comments until after the guests have left the area. Not sure if we would be back. Plenty of other places in the area at the same price point. read more
