My recent experience was top notch! I signed up for direct deposit and the funds are in my checking account in two days upon submitting a claim for reimbursement. The debit card works phenomenal and I've never had an issue as with our previous administrator. Also, had an inquiry about my balance and used their online service web chat and had an answer in less than 30 seconds. My colleague utilizes the Dependent Care plan and was able to sign up for an annual claim which allows for a one-time claim and her funds are automatically sent to her every pay date via direct deposit. Ameriflex is by far one of the worst companies I've ever had to deal with. They constantly deny legitimate claims, making the entire reimbursement process exhausting and frustrating. Just saw this company's response to my review! Yes, Dustin, you can pay by credit card, BUT you can only pay a set monthly amount and the service charge is $20 each time. I thought I would eat the $20 for an annual payment, but I could only make it for one month. Are you kidding me? I tried to do it over the phone but was unable to pay by phone. These folks made it extremely difficult to pay annually for a total charge of slightly above $600. Crazy. My company has since dropped them. read more

If I could give them zero stars, I would. I formerly had an HSA with Ameriflex through my employer, who left Ameriflex for a new vendor at the end of 2023 after a year of problems, problems and more problems, many related to problems with HSA withholding from payroll not matching the amount deposited into the HSA. I am personally still working with our HR to deal with the last of these issues, resulting from an incorrect audit provided by Ameriflex to my employer; in a conversation with HR, he noted that Ameriflex was washing their hands of the problem since they didn't have our business anymore. The process of closing out the HSA and rolling it over to my existing Fidelity HSA has been a pain; Fidelity estimated the process would take three weeks, and we're in week four. Ameriflex withdrew the balance from my account over two weeks ago but has declined to provide a timetable as to when they'll actually send a check to Fidelity. Moreover, the account has been closed and I no longer have access to my HSA statements -- fortunately I had downloaded what I needed already. However, Ameriflex has yet to provide the required 1099 for 2023. If you are an HR administrator, stay far away from this company. read more

If I could write them a zero rating I would. Their phone systems is a loop and there was no way to reach a real person. When I tried a different way, I was reassured that I would be transferred to a real person, which turned up to be a lie. I have never been this furious in my entire. life. I have a HRA account. I was asked to submit EOBs that show the deductible requirement has been met. It has, and more than that. I've spent a solid thousand plus on my healthcare, more than half of which is prescriptions, so far. Ameriflex approved all but $3.34. I have been battling it out with them over three dollars, when I've been spending money hand over fist on medication alone. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I ask them about this $3.34 I'm asked to "please submit an explanation of benefits". I SUBMITTED 13 EOBs SO FAR! WHY IS THIS NOT ENOUGH!?!! Since I've started using this January 1, 2022 I've incurred nothing but problems. With Ameriflex. 1. They denied my reimbursement for my medication when I picked it up on January 1. The reason given because the prescription was filled in December. I'm not picking it up till January, the monies coming out of pocket in January, why wouldn't you cover it? 2. Used the card at my dentist office a week later. They said that they needed proof to see if this would be covered or not! Seriously? It's a dental office I thought that's what an FSA account is for! 3. Just went to pay a bill with Advocate home health systems and they declined my payment! Again, Advocate is a known medical center. Awful awful customer service. Every time I call it is impossible to get a hold of someone. One I get a call back, no employee seems to be able to help me or give me answers. I have been trying to get reimbursed for funds but there was an error made about my account information and I haven't been able to register. This has been going on for over a year. I have called 5 times an two investigations have been opened and I have never gotten any follow up. According to a representative on a call today, my account "does not exist" even though the automatic system can identify by my phone number. At the this point I lost $2000 thru this process. Tried to submit a claim a month ago, well before the deadline and was never told it was denied. Checked on 1/31/23 (last day of claim period) and what do you know, denied. I resubmitted with more info, but was denied again. Now I could be out $2,000 of money that I already paid. Total sham and I am mad I used them again this year when I filled out my healthcare last fall (as submissions were never a problem until this year). Ameriflex people are always looking for the minimun thing or document to prevent you to spend your own money, and then when you call them, they pretend to review your case again, again. They have the ability to hang up on you pretending not to hear you. It does not matter to them how many documents you send or when they always have an excuse for you not to use your money. We had a wonderfull company before Flores, LLC, where we never had this kind of problems. I am upset writing this review as everyone in my situation, and I believe 1 Star is too much for this company. Prime example of the corrput pharmaceutical industrial complex ruining this countrys health! Their people are rude, and they could care less about their customers. I was laid off, and i paid them $750 for Cobra, and they sent the verification of payment to the wrong place and delayed my benefits for over a month. They didn't care. They were rude to me every time I called. My insurance company had to fix their mistake and cared more than they did!!!! They have no idea what they're doing. Truly inept company. I use my FSA for one provider, and they approve him every time after i submit the paperwork. I have been doing this for over 2 years, and now, all of a sudden, halfway through the year, they want a letter of medical necessity!? What a joke! No consistency at all expect for their inconsistency. They make my blood boil. And they literally are causing me so much stress and angst that i need treatment from having to deal with them alone. The company refuses to accept the receipt from my son's daycare because it states tuition and not daycare. For the record it's a Goddard so not some small unknown business. Now I have to submit a handwritten claim and have it signed which they admittedly don't research for validity. Anyone can just forge the document and they will approve it yet an actual printed receipt is not accepted because it says tuition. DUMB!!! read more

Working with this company has been an absolute nightmare. They deny eligible claims all the time. Request documentation for items that are clearly covered. Most recently I purchased contact lenses and they flagged the claim. They are prescription lenses! They also once denied a letter of medical necessity from my doctor. And those are just two examples. All of the reasons for denials are vague at best. Customer service is awful and when I told them I was unhappy the rep hung up on me. I will never use this service again. Nothing but headaches. Their resubmission process for documentation is so confusing, even healthcare professionals don't understand what Ameriflex is asking for. When you do finally submit the right documentation, they don't spend any time reading it or analyzing it. If the details aren't in BIG BOLD WRITING at the top of the page, they will deny it again. This company is borderline fraudulent. I have been using my company's FSA benefit this year which goes through Ameriflex. I paid a certain amount into the account and have used it throughout the year for various medical services. Ameriflex is refusing to approve any of my transactions (despite me providing all receipts requested directly from my doctors). I have spent months communicating with their customer service trying to get this approved - they have completely stopped responding for 2 months, twice, to the open case, and have not approved any of my medical expenses for the year. Their customer service is barely responsive and it seems at this point that I will not be allowed to use any of the funds I put in this account. I am reaching out to my company's HR asking to stop working with them - I've had other FSAs before with no issues (yes, I had to submit receipts, but it was never an issue). I have transit, dependant care, and transit with Ameriflex through my employer. I have had great difficulty getting claims processed, using my debit card, you name it. For DCA I ended up submitting my claim three times before it was approved. Each time they had new requirements for me to meet. Once it was approved it took 4 additional weeks, following up 4 times with customer service before I finally got my money. For some reason the claim was approved and "on hold". Each time I contacted customer service they said they made a "ticket" but I never heard back afterwards. My transit account has had numerous issues causing all my transit transactions to decline. The first time I called Ameriflex they blamed it on my transit card. So I called my transit company and the issue was not with my transit card it was with the Ameriflex account. So I call Ameriflex again. So now they admit there is an issue with my Ameriflex account. Apparently Ameriflex cancelled my card and was sending me a new one, without any advance notice and without my permission. They say "they sent a new card in the mail two weeks ago, just wait for it". Why was my card cancelled to begin with? They said it was reported lost and stolen, but by who?!!! I have not reported my card lost! They refused to overnight me a card, or give me my new account number so I could have access to my account. Customer service is completely worthless, all they can do is "make a ticket" and then no one ever responds to the tickets. The last time I was in touch with them and they said they'd make a ticket, I demanded a supervisor, they said "supervisor is assisting other customers" and will call back. We'll of course the "supervisor" never called back. No one ever calls back. I've complained to my HR about this. Apparently HR has been having issues where our contributions are not being reflected in our Ameriflex accounts. This is company wide. I am not sure why we are still using this company for flex, but if we are still using them next year I will probably not bother contributing. Especially for transit where the savings are fairly minimal and not worth the hours of headaches trying to get access to my money. I don't think I can handle being told "I'll make a ticket" anymore!!! read more

If the platform was advanced I could do what I needed without the help of a person. However very subpar platform with virtually no options for self service. I've had to call 4-5 times within a week to verify if my claim was processed for reimbursement-was told that it was approved but never released. I said what does that exactly mean? I strongly recommend you DO NOT sign up for any benefit your employer offers that requires you to use them (FSA, HSA, transit, etc). 3-25-19 DAY #1: The Customer Portal was not working; it did not recognize my user-name. Thinking I had made an error, I had the user name e-mailed to me. It was the SAME user name I had been entering. Next, I called customer service and explained what had happened. After the rep verified my identity, she gave me my user name AGAIN. I explained that I knew my user name, but that it was not working. The rep tried to reset it and only THEN did she understand what I had been telling her all along. Next, she went offline for several minutes and finally returned only to explain that there was a "problem" with the Ameriflex Website and that it would take 3 BUSINESS DAYS for it to be accessible again. Interestingly, the FSA "Store" is working just fine. 3-26-19 DAY #2 No access to my AmeriFlex Account. It STILL does not recognize my user-name. read more

My company randomly switched its FSA Company to Ameriflex, sadly. To date, I have submitted 3 claims with this company, all for dependent care, and all claims were denied. They don't contact you to tell you there is a problem, they just deny it and that's it. I called the 1st time to find out what the problem was and they told me that because I submitted a cancelled check and they don't take cancelled checks as proof of payment. WTH? I've been submitting cancelled checks to our other FSA Company for 10 years. Well apparently after going back and forth on this with just the randoms who answer the phone... there is a way around this. Send your claims directly to your account manager and she will personally work on your claim and make sure it gets paid. Besides the claim stuff... their website is difficult to deal with and always tells me that my password is invalid or that I don't have an account set up. Uhhhhh. I use Ameriflex for COBRA. Stay away! Their customer service is almost non existent. They will make you wait on hold for hours. I was set up on auto pay and then they made an error and didnt draw payment one month which canceled my insurance. After spending hours trying to reach them I got an email that said they were sorry for the inconvenience and that they made an error. Weeks later my insurance company has nothing from Ameriflex saying I am paid in full. I have no insurance now yet have paid Ameriflex for months. Its impossible for anyone at Ameriflex to be relied on to follow up with anything let alone communicate with. I will follow up with the BBB but do not use this company. Yes like other reviews here they are border line fraudulent. Good luck getting any customer service. read more

Don't waste your earned money by putting it in an Ameriflex account. They will find a technicality to deny your claim.

It has been said over and over again on here, but they will deny your claims and keep your money that was deducted from your paycheck. The funds in the Ameriflex account were deducted from my paycheck as expected. I filed a claim for a dental procedure, and it was denied. Now those funds are "used," but are invalid so I will still have to pay them again for the full amount. They will tie up your funds with denied claims so you can't use the funds in your account. All the money deducted from you paycheck and put into the Ameriflex account is gone at the end of the year and you still have to pay them for the full amount of the "used" funds of your denied claims. I was told by their customer service representative that those funds could not be used, and I would have to pay them back for the denied claims at the end of the year. His condolences were "I lost $1000 in my account last year." Luckily, I asked to speak to his manager and got given a PO box to send a check or money order to payback the money for denied claims and free up my funds before the funds were removed from the Ameriflex account at the end of the year. They said if I sent them the check it would take 2 weeks for them to process it. None of this can be handled online. Everything is purposefully set up to make your life difficult, so you cannot use the funds in the account; that's how they make their money after all. I signed up for a Dependent Care Account through my employer and regret the decision. Ameriflex is refusing to finish processing a claim I submitted almost two weeks and will not reimburse me for money spent on childcare expenses. I have tried contacting their Customer Service department them several times this week via phone, email and chat only to get a canned reply and no resolution. I too wish my company would ditch them. Ameriflex has been a constant headache. They ask for an invoice of every doctor's visit and then they pick and choose which ones they will cover and which ones they won't. You have 90 days to submit the invoice or they won't cover any expenses for you. But they won't stop taking money out of every paycheck. read more
