It was great and would definitely go again! Pricing is fair. They require a $7 minimum per person. It wasn't a problem for us because we chose (2) 4 quart buckets. As of June 2026, 1 qt was $7, 2 qt $14 and 4 qt was $20. I feel their pricing is fair esp given the price of berries recently. They provide the buckets that you keep. You can either take a trolley, train (extra charge) or walk. The field wasn't too far about 10-15 min. We opted to walk both ways. The strawberry fields were pretty big. I highly recommend coming early in the day because it gets busy and the earlier you come, the bigger the berries. They stagger their plantings so it stretches the season longer. They also have lettuce, radishes, cilantro, raspberries and sugar snap peas this weekend. Everything except sugar snap peas were a separate charge. All of their pricing is on their website and their Facebook page has their availability for the day. Strollers and wagons are welcome, but no dogs. The market is worth checking out. They had meats, pies, gifts, donuts, drinks and some produce. I highly recommend the strawberry lemonade slushy. It was refreshing after a couple of hours in the sun. The strawberry donut was tasty, too. It was moist and tender and not terribly sweet. Will definitely be back next year for more strawberry picking. We may comeback for other pickings later this year.

The staff are friendly and helpful, and the prices are very reasonable considering how fresh and high-quality the produce is. Everything we picked tasted incredible - you can tell it's straight from the farm. We've made it a tradition to go every year, and it never disappoints. It's a wholesome, fun outing that's 100% worth it!

The encampment of volunteer re-eneactors was much bigger than I was expecting, and the quality of the participants was thru the roof. The volunteers are very willing to fill you in on their particular take on history, be it fur-trading, carpentry, candle making, surveying or any other activity you can find there. A few helpful hints: - You have to do a fair amount of walking from the parking lot to the encampment on a grass path - so wear walking shoes and dress appropriately, and, if it's cold, wear layers - you'll be warmed up and stripped down by the time you arrive. - Bring a camera - lots of photo ops, especially if you have kids. If walking is an issue, check out their website for info on special needs parking. - Plan to buy lunch there - the foods available are not what you might expect - bison burgers, fish boil, elk stew and to drink, cider, lemonade and coffee/tea. - Bring your own bottles of water - water is hard to come by in any form - they do not allow bottled water for sale at this event. - Bring some cash for a fun purchase - for example - a hank of hemp fiber, a hollow cow form, a powder horn, old-fashioned candy, trading beads, etc. There is no ATM. :-) - Set aside some time to try the old-time games. - Get there early and leave late. We got there at 11, and had to leave by 3, due to another commitment - we should have gotten there at opening and left at closing - we could have used a lot more time to see everything - we probably only saw about 1/2 of the re-enactors. Would I recommend: Yes yes yes! Would I return: Yes!

You start off walking down this mile long trail as you are surrounded by prairie grass, trees and hills created by the glacier that ran through there long ago. Along the way you can talk to reenactors from the 1670's-1850's in the former Northwest Territory. When you get to the end of the trail it opens into this large open area where there are food stands, more reenactors with job specific stations where they talk about and show you their professions. I always liked the trader skinning the beaver and the Indian talking about how the white man got his daughter but he scalped them. They also have an area where they create a canoe the way the Indians did. Oh and they have food! Get the kettle corn, get a large bag, you will regret it if you don't. They have this giant cauldron and make it there in front of you while you wait forever in line. They have all kinds of jerky (bison, elk, deer, you name it) They have chili, pickles, corn chowder and turkey legs. The overall experience is wonderful and leaves you feeling nostalgic about it leading up to next year's reopening.

We saw a Genesis tribute band recently and this was our first visit to The Vixen. We really like…read morethe Vixen and would love to return again! The space is big and you never felt claustrophobic despite the fact the place was pretty packed. We appreciated the fact you are seated at a table (at least for this band. I no longer enjoy standing for hours on end at a long rock show!). The bar is reasonably priced - a Lagunita's IPA was $6 or so. They seem to run the venue pretty well - no goony bouncers or shady staff lurking around. Stop in for a show if a band you like is playing here! The Vixen is a great music venue with good sound!

I recently had knee surgery so opted to buy a VIP Table in the balcony so I didn't have to stand all night. I was glad I did because the band played for over 2 hours and there was also a DJ. The venue itself is dated and carpet and furniture upstairs smells musty, like an older bar. However, the view and sound from the balcony were pretty good, and we had our own little dance party upstairs. It is a walk downstairs to use the bathroom, but we appreciated that there was a bar serving drinks upstairs. During a few parts of the concert, it sounded almost like the song started off key, and we kept seeing the vocalist tap his ear, so not sure if there was an audio issue. There is parking nearby, if you arrive early enough to get a closer spot. The employees here were working hard to get everyone inside, despite the long line. Drink service in the balcony was fast. There is no separate entry for VIP. Just one long line and once you get inside are then brought to your ticket area. In all, I would say we waited outside for close to 30 minutes before we got inside for bag and ID check.
