He was upbeat and easy to talk to as we walked through all the projects I had lined up. He took the time to explain each step clearly and offered thoughtful input on how everything would be handled. He also did a quick inspection around the home and pointed out potential safety concerns I wasn't even aware of--offering solutions without any pressure. His communication was clear, and he explained both electrical and non-electrical matters in a way that was easy to understand. All of the work he completed looks clean and precise, and everything functions exactly as promised. He even addressed a tricky issue left behind by a previous contractor and fixed it the right way--no shortcuts. It's clear Matthew knows his craft well; you can see it in the way he works with his tools and the attention he puts into the job. I'm a very satisfied customer and won't hesitate to call him again. Highly recommend for any electrical work--definitely a 5-star experience!

My main complaint was my smoke detectors were all chirping and they're up so high I couldn't access them. Matt came to check them out and figured the issues out quickly. He also took the time to locate some other issues with my exterior electrical. Our light poles had no power to them over the past 5 years. Two other electricians have come over the past few years and could not figure this out. Matt and Chance figured this out within an hour. They also got an exterior camera working that has never worked (since the last electrician put it up.) Not only that, weve had some issues with mice coming in though the lines to our electrical boxes. He took the time to seal it from the inside so they cant get back in. Overall, Matt and Chance went above and beyond for us, and took their time to fix things I didn't originally even call about. It was also very affordable.I appreciate the level of professionalism, care, and expertise. I will be calling again and I highly recommend this company!

They have brought in power feeds, wired pump skids, wired control rooms, provided communication wiring, and several complete installations. Last year they have wired our updated office building. My colleagues and I always feel confident that the job will be done right if Blue Ribbon is involved.

They said Blue Ribbon will contact in one hour. Waited two hours, gave a call back, left 2 vmails. Called Nicor Services, they left vmails and told me to wait 1 hour more. No luck. Next morning, got a prompt call from Blue Ribbon apologizing for missing the vmails because no one was monitoring it that evening. Said electrician will be there by 9am. Arranged schedule so that we can let him in. Arrived a little after 9am. Worked full day, beyond the limit set by Nicor. No permission taken to go beyond Nicor's authorized amount of $400 or to make holes in the drywall or to give us (esp. in writing) that they would charge $78 per hour beyond the $400. Asked electrician if he knew the problem: after a total charge of $712, they couldn't give either an estimate or a project cost. They said they needed to continue an open-ended $78 per hour charge while they went through more exploration, including tearing the drywall. Asked them to leave because without written estimates, I do not feel comfortable. Today an invoice is sent for Nicor overage of $312 when I have no written estimate from Blue Ribbon for work authorized by me. Called Nicor Services to complain that if they are only responsible for first $400, then they should have not let the vendor proceed unless written authorization received on both drywall damage and rate. Not happy and pursuing. Problem of trip still persists. Still at square 0. Not happy with Nicor Services for putting me in such a situation, because they sent this vendor to us, without clarifying with me about overage charges upfront and the liberty they took to keep working - Nicor brochure says they take care of all relationships with vendors and home owner just needs to be present. Nicor Services did say they will talk with Blue Ribbon. Let's see. The phone usually goes to vmail in my experience and theirs. Have worked with many vendors over the 19 years in our home - have never run into an open-ended give me $79/hr until I say I'm done. Unfortunately, took advantage of the fact that we had already spent $400 of the allowed reimbursement and then the overage they are now demanding with 1.5% service charge per month. Perhaps this is the way the business is, but I've always heard that we should get estimates for any job by 3 vendors - relied on Nicor Services to do their work with vendors. An open-ended exploration of where the short is, with no approval or estimate or rate - how does that happen?
