They sent over a technician who attempted to rod the line but couldn't get the equipment in. He gave up and stuck a camera in there. My uncle is a general contractor/handyman with over 30 years of experience, and he's run into this exact issue before with our plumbing. Last time we had this issue, he told us it was likely root intrusion, and that it just needs yearly maintenance. Unfortunately, we didn't keep up with the maintenance, and he lives across the country, so we couldn't exactly fly him in for an emergency toilet rescue. Tony's charged us for a camera inspection and promised to send a quote. The next day? Boom! "$7,500 minimum"... And that didn't even include landscaping repairs. For that kind of money, I was expecting front row VIP tickets to see Dave Chapelle, since clearly, Tony's team thinks they're in the comedy business. Thankfully, we got a second opinion. Another plumbing company with over 20 years of experience came out, scoped it out, and spent about 3 hours clearing the line and doing a full inspection afterward. It was a root blockage and some baby wipes. They got to the root of the problem (yes, pun intended) for just $300. Moral of the story: Don't flush wipes. Also, don't flush your money down the drain with Tony's. Always get a second opinion. 0/10, would not recommend!

The biggest Pro was that they were able to answer my call and have something happen with an employee showing up to my house the day of my call when another plumber failed to do the job. Another plumber wanted to come out another day which was an inconvenience to me. The guy that came here was really nice and he seemed like he knew his stuff when it came to plumbing. The guy was very professional and at least he didn't think of me as an idiot for trying to do my own Plumbing experiments. They do try to lure you to sign up for their over priced service for future repairs which help your service that day but overall this was a one-time thing. I was charged almost $500 just to basically have a line snaked! Which to me is completely overpriced. Believe it or not this is actually the average in the Chicagoland area. Me and the plumber did learn a few things about the house so I know what to do for next time. But that's the biggest negative about my experience with Mr. Rooter.
