Here I am, 5 years later. Amigo came out once last week to install a splitter on our water service. We can shut off the water to the house when we're gone for an extensive period of time and leave the irrigation on. Honestly, they were so responsive and arrived on time and the work as done in an hour. Today, we were disconnecting the hoses from the washer (getting a new one) and the valves and hoses were stuck due to the mineral deposits. Amigo to the rescue. I entrusted Amigo Plumbing to complete a thorough plumbing inspection before purchasing my home. I made it clear that I would not move forward without a comprehensive inspection, and I even paid the additional fee to have cameras run through the lines. Amigo reported no issues, which gave me confidence to proceed with my purchase. Only weeks after moving in, my master bedroom flooded. Two independent plumbing companies have since confirmed that my home is essentially unlivable and that the entire plumbing system must be replaced--an estimated $31,000 repair. Amigo's inspection completely missed (or ignored) these major issues. To make matters worse, Amigo has refused to respond to any of my correspondence, including a legal notice. I have been unable to use the plumbing in my home since July, and their negligence has left me facing enormous financial and personal stress as a first-time homebuyer. This is long, but I want to explain how extraordinary this company is and how grateful I am to them. I retired from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. I've seen some really horrible contractors and I've seen some great ones. When you find a great one, you hang onto them. When I worked for ROC, I found Amigo Rooter and Plumbing and they've been doing outstanding work for me and my family and friends for years. I stopped bothering to get estimates from other companies because nobody ever beat Amigo. They've repaired everything from faucets to sewer lines, so of course that's who I called when I had a slab leak. All of the technicians from Amigo are great, but one of the things I like about Nelson, the owner, is he explains things very clearly. He lays out all your options and helps you make an informed decision. You want that on a big expensive project. It turns out that my house was full of PVC. PVC is no longer up to code, and Nelson explained how PVC can develop a slime and bacteria and how the plastic also disintegrates over time. PEX is the current standard, but instead of putting in PEX and more plastic, I wanted copper. Copper is more expensive and more difficult to work with, but Amigo did the job with copper pipe and put in a water conditioner. They did it for the same cost or less than any other company would have charged for PEX with no water conditioner. The technicians were amazing. Before the project, they planned and marked exactly how the pipe would go. They explained the plan and made sure I was okay with it. It was a 4 day job, but they made sure I was never without water for more than an hour or so. I always had warning the few times water was completely shut off. Even though they were using copper pipe instead of flexible PEX, the drywall damage was undetectable. They worked behind cabinets and repaired the drywall so you would never know my entire house has been repiped. All dust and debris were cleaned up as they worked. A special shout out to the poor guy who had to weld copper pipe in my attic in an Arizona summer. As long as I have pipes, Amigo Rooter and Plumbing will be my plumber. Side Note: There's such a thing as PVC toxicity. I've been sick for many years and I've seen many specialists, including Mayo. I have many diagnoses, but none of these specialists could determine what triggered all of this. After talking to my Neurologist, Endocrinologist and PCP, they agree my illnesses could be related to all the decaying PVC my water has passed through for 25 years. I've seen all these specialists for all these years, and it was my plumber who may have had the answer. I'm thinking of making Nelson my PCP, after all, he makes house calls. read more

So far we have had amigo out for a broken pipe, new hot water heater, and a pressure relief valve for our home. We actually still carry a payment plan with one of the big plumbing companies in phoenix, but even with the discount that provides, I find amigo's prices better. I wish I could remember which tech we had, because we've always had the same guy and he's dependable, patient, explains everything well, and took the time to place multiple calls and make sure we were able to exercise the warranty on our water heater replacement. Service has been fast as well. With the water heater they were willing to come out that very evening. Definitely wouldn't hesitate to hire them in the future. read more

Our toilet had a leak. They replaced the toilet. The new toilet leaked. The "mostly"repaired the leak. Blue dye from the tank was seeping through. Called them again. "it's not leaking" was Santos response. After letting him know we were going to have another company come out to verify, he decided to "tighten" things up. He removed the toilet but said he would have to come back because he needed new gaskets. He purposely left the bathroom door open with the drain wide open. No plug. Obviously he did this on purpose. We took pics to show how he left it. We will use those later. As far as us being in a rental as stated by our Landlord below. We sold our house and paid a full years rent in advance because we weren't sure what was going to happen under Biden. We are extreme clean freaks and have a had a constant sewer smell here until the toilet was replaced. read more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!' This company was sent out by the landlords warranty service. First they said they came by and no one was home. I was home, second trip ( tried to charge another trip fee), the plumber tried snaking the line outside. Claimed he went 25'....must be a root in the line. The city came out, went to to the line with a cam and only got 14'. They suggested a jet procedure. Amigo came out again, the same guy. First words where " jetting will not work, it's a root." He set up to snake again, I went inside to work. I look out after a short time and he's gone. Not sure what if any work was done. The landlord sent another company. They prepared to jet the line. 7 1/2 minuets later, problem solved. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Terrible customer service, not professional and I feel they are best at trying to get as much $$ out of you as possible. Poor service. They came out to replace a cartridge on my shower. They were a vendor for my warranty company. They replaced the cartridge and when they left the shower was still leaking. They returned and said the valve needed to be replaced because of rust and corrosion. They wanted to charge me another $350, after $250 had been paid for the cartridge. This sounded strange so I called another plumber. He stated that the original tech used pliers to remove the old cartridge and broke the valve in doing so. Since companies compete I called a third plumber for an estimate and he came out today and said the exact same thing! When I let Amigo know they still told me it was broken because of rust and corrosion! They refuse to admit their tech broke it and are thieves who will break things and charge you for it!! read more

Stay away from this company, very shady with employees that steal. This company came out to fix a water leak at my house. 1st minor red flag was i got a call saying that were at my house, insurance sent them a order. I never received a call to even schedule an appt they just showed up. 2nd minor red flag the plumber came in my house & my small dog was barking at him. I let the plumber know the dog does not bite, the plumber looks at me and says he doesn't mind if i bite him. ( that was creepy but it gets better) The major unethical unprofessional incident that occurred while he was in my house fixing the valve was a diamond wedding ring that went missing after he was at my house. I have a routine where i place my wedding ring everyday. The employee had said he needed to go to the store to get the parts & he'd knock when he returned. I changed my clothes, placed my ring where it goes & didn't think anything of it. The employee came back fixed the valve & last. Next morning went to get my ring & it was gone. I called on a Wednesday to have someone quote a gas line installation, the owner got back to me and scheduled someone to come out the very next day. So far so good. The gentleman showed up on time and was very nice, professional and helpful. He gave a verbal quote and told my husband he would email him a written quote that evening. Friday came and went and we still hadn't heard anything so my husband called and spoke with a receptionist who told him to text a number and that the technician would respond right away. No answer. I finally called again on Monday morning and the same receptionist told me that she would reach out to the technician and see why he hadn't responded. I told her to take down my name and number and to call me to let me know what the outcome was. She said she would follow up right away with me. It's now Tuesday evening and we've got nothing. I am no expert when it comes to plumbing. But the advice given to me by my parents seems fitting. Which was to get three quotes. On the plus side they were first to respond to a online form that sent my contact information to five companies. They were friendly. At least that was until I asked for a written quote. Then the smiles went away. I made it clear I wanted 3 quotes before I picked anyone. I had to wait till their boss could send me a quote, they could not write me one while they were there.The quote I got did not mention a best and worse case scenario on replacing my water heater. Just a standard cost +tax. I suspect that meant hidden fees. I ended up going to Lowes where I got the best and worse case scenario. Also I got pricing I could keep, which another plumber would not let me keep. Overall it cost me $90 below what Amigo's was going to charge me. Now the point of why I write this review. If it was not for their last phone call I would not have bothered. But when I got called again right as the contract plumber for Lowes Installed my new water heater. I told the guy on the other end thank you but I already picked someone. For which I was told "Thanks for wasting our time". Being a business owner, I can tell you now that was a stupid mistake. He explained everything that needed to be done, as well as shared various options. He also answered all of the questions that I had. I would recommend this company. TERRIBLE service, lack of expertise, caused 2 leaks that weren't leaking before, no-showed, late, have been trying for 2 weeks to contact a manager and he has not returned any calls. I had a tech/plumber to my home 4 times and NONE of my initial issues were fixed, but rather in trying to look into a shower faucet, they caused a leak from my shower after not tightening it. I still never had it fixed after 3 weeks, I hired a handyman who did it and fixed my initial problem in 1 week (took time for parts to be delivered). Only thing Amigo did was snake 2 drains and charged me $110 plus the call fee of $65. I will NEVER allow them to do any work in my home again. The only reason I used them was because my warranty company. Which I recommend if the same happens for you to CANCEL! Get someone else. read more

If you're looking for someone honest and punctual.... look elsewhere. The plumber was supposed to arrived between 11am-1pm. I called the company at 1:20 after realizing no one showed up. They told me the plumber would arrive in 40mim - that did NOT happen. The plumber finally showed up sometime after 2pm. I explained the water leak as best as I could. He looked at me and said "It will be a $100 to start". I told him that the company told me I'd get a FREE ESTIMATE to which he just gave me a blank stare and again told me it would be $100 to start. I repeated that I wanted a free estimate which then made him give me a blank stare and said he'd get started. I watched as the blankly stared at my water meter. He then told me I needed to call the city because it was a city line. He then said my old sprinkler system needed to be capped off - which was already capped off. Had the bother to really look at it, he would have noticed that there was nothing wrong with it. Before the plumber left, he said the total would be $45. I then gave him a blank stare and he took off. I think that if the company really offered free estimates, then the plumbers should really be advised if that. Specially since I had clearly asked the company before sending someone out to my house. read more

Not trustworthy. The home warranty company sent these folks out to handle a stopped up drain. The technician made only a cursory effort to locate the main clean-out, then decided to root the problem from a roof vent. This makes the repair "not covered" because there was no main clean-out. This was a job done for my client. I went to the house and in a brief search located the main clean-out. (I am not a plumber) The technician did not indicate to my client that the repair would not be covered and insisted that he get a check from her for the work. The technician also attempted to sell her a main clean out installation for an additional $1500. He could have spent a few minutes and found the clean out, but instead attempted to intimidate the homeowner into paying for unneeded work. This company's technician acted unethically and took advantage of a first time home owner. DO NOT USE THEM. We have also filed a complaint with the home warranty company. read more

Our water heater stopped working and it was 12 years old so we knew it was time to get it replaced. We called so many places and some were unavailable, some charged a fee just to come out, and some were just too expensive. I heard about this place from a Facebook group called "Goodyear Moms". I called and they asked if we had our own water heater. I didn't even know that was a possibility, but I'm so glad we got to make that choice based on what we wanted to choose and spend. So I said yes that we would get our own. And we did get one for under $500 at Home Depot. I called Amigo around noon and they came out that day around 5pm and finished the job around 7:30ish. They installed our new water heater, took our old one, and fixed our emergency water valve shut off all for $475-and this was a price match we mentioned that we found another place to do it, but they couldn't come out that day. The night before a significant trip to the east coast, my house lost its water supply. The valve connecting my house to the municipal supply got stuck in the closed position and I had simply no way of resolving the problem. As luck would have it, Amigo was local and still open late in the day. I was able to quickly and painlessly set up an appointment to have the work finished. They were able to arrive the same day and resolve my issue within an hour, which prevented me from needing to worry about some horrible fate befalling my home while I was thousands of miles away.
