We drove up from Miami and they did not disappoint--they brought all the energy and put on an amazing performance! It happened to be Ms. Annie's birthday, so the band and the crowd were especially lively and fun. The Food (The 1-Star Dock): I'm docking the venue one star because they really need to step up their food game. There were four of us at our table, we all arrived hungry, and unfortunately, none of us were satisfied with our meals. Between us, we ordered the wings, cheese sticks, the chicken quesadilla, and a wedge salad with shrimp. For a venue like this, executing solid, good-quality bar food should be a given. As for my choice, the wedge salad was a total miss--the tomatoes were overly ripe (and not in a good way, I couldn't tell if they were in a strange marinade or just too ripe), and the lettuce wedge lacked appropriate crispness, arriving more like a flat pancake instead of a wedge. Now, I will say, as a self-proclaimed French fry connoisseur, the side of fries we ordered was actually pretty good! (Gotta mix the good with the bad, right?) But the rest of the menu definitely needs some major improvement. Pro-Tip: Be incredibly careful with parking out here and make sure you pay! I saw two different meter maids actively writing tickets while we were there. Don't let an expensive parking ticket ruin a great night of music. Return Factor: I would absolutely come back to Blue Jean Blues to see the Valerie Tyson Band again, especially if I'm staying right here in Fort Lauderdale next time!

It has two pool tables some large projector like thing for viewing games and several flatscreens which because of their size and position don't seem the best for sports viewing. It also seems rather weirdly run. The board special when I walked in was posted as "Land Shark Draft 16oz $1.75." As it sounded like a pretty decent deal, I ordered one but turns out they did have any. Maybe that's why the good deal as it's rather easy to offer good deals on things you don't have to sell. So with the thought of having a Land Shark dashed, I ordered a Tanqueray and tonic but alas, they had no Tanqueray. But to cut the boredom of what they don't have let me just say I ended up having a Tito Vodka with tonic which was a pretty good drink. Not many know of this bar and it doesn't seem to be all that popular. After all, even Yelp seems to have overlooked it. Then if you Google around about it you end up with it being named as a "pub" instead of a bar and sometimes with couple "M"'s prefixing the 42nd. Its draw seems to be basically neighborhood and the patron I met were all exceeding friendly referencing the place to be their little local watering hole.

We came here over the weekend to support one of our friends who was cooking for fusion lounge. So basically fusion lounge is an establishment of its own, but I have some friends that have a restaurant business on the side and on this particular night that we visited, they were cooking and offering their menu items for the guests that were visiting fusion lounge. The lounge is very nice inside there is tons of space. Lots of areas for folks to hang out and sit while enjoying dei is and their food. The bar and this establishment is not very big and when we first arrived, there was only one bartender on scene, who unfortunately was very slow with making drinks. As the night went on, a few more bartenders arrived, making it a little bit easier to order and get drinks out faster.. There is a DJ on site every weekend, he was playing some good music and mixing really well. He definitely got the crowd going. It's a nice place to come hang out. I don't know that I would come back here anytime soon. It is a bit out of my way. My boyfriend said he thought he saw lights, so we parked and checked it out. It was open, and the new owner informed us they hadn't updated the phone number yet. We showed him the offer for a free hookah with check-in and he said he would honor it. The waitress didn't speak much English and had a difficult time understanding our drink and hookah order. The place does not have their liquor license so they offer wine based alcoholic beverages. The atmosphere was mildly Egyptian themed, but the TVs reflected that of a co fused sports bars: basketball, and college softball games were on screens, along with one screen showing old shows from the 60s. The "dj" was busy smoking hookah most of the time, and before long the owner started drinking at the bar. A second bartender arrived dressed as if she worked at a strip club, complete with unitard that went up between her butt cheeks with tattoos and cellulite displayed in abundance. We opted not to stay for a second drink as the atmosphere was really lacking. It took about ten minutes to get the waitresses attention to tell her we wanted our check, another ten for her to bring us the check, and when we looked at the bill we saw that the free hookah offer was not honored, she rang up the vodka cranberry as vodka red bull (different charge) and his whiskey sour as a whiskey and coke (also a different charge). At that point we just wanted to leave and decided not to contest the bill. It took another 7 minutes to get the waitress's attention to take our card. Once she did she passed it off to the owner who took the card, proceeded to sit and drink his alcoholic beverage at the bar before getting into a discussion with the woman wearing basically no clothing. He finally handed the card off to her and she eventually ran the card. Had there not been an 18% gratuity automatically charged we wouldn't have left any tip at all. With this type of service and amount of attention given to business and the customers by the owner it will be a shock if they stay open.
