A nice spot in West Broward... Parking: easy as it is in a strip mall Drinks: wow! Probably every single spirit bottle you can imagine!! The drinks are creative. Food: typical bar food. We shared the wings appetizer and it was pretty boring. We asked for them to be hot and they were hardly even mild. I believe the food comes from the Quarterdeck kitchen it is attached to. Service: bartenders were VERY nice ! Atmosphere/vibe: we went on a Saturday night and there were a few games on. There were also some middle aged guys celebrating a birthday. It is a nice vibe for a local, down to earth bar. Age group: 40s and up Bathroom: didn't use it Return:yes

I love this new edition to the sunrise area offering a great speakeasy vibe without the secret password. The old fashioned were made perfectly and the fish dip was tasty. With large carrots that almost overtook the plate. The service was ok but they were busy that night since the a hockey game just let out. Overall the experience was a really nice time

A fun "speak easy" type atmosphere here at Whiskey Neat. It's almost a hidden gem, for years I did not know this bar was down in the darker part of the parking lot, connected to the Quarter Deck on Sunrise Blvd. I've been coming here every so often after discovering it, and each time I've had an amazing time! The cocktails are wonderful, served up by some skilled bartenders, some may even do a trick or two to add to the experience. The bar does get packed very quickly, and as the night progresses, it will get very loud. The bar itself has plenty of seating, few tables throughout along with a step up area with a few love seats and sofa, for a more intimate feel. They play a variety of music, some nights they host a live Dj. A must if you're into the dim lighting ambience to enjoy a little night cap.

Whiskey Neat! One of our favorite date-night locations. It doesn't look like much from the outside but once you step inside, you are transported into a small-like speakeasy per say. It has a romantic/rustic vibe to it which I adore. It's dim and red lighting is everything and I like the fact they have a big couch where you can just sit back, relax and enjoy your old fashion or cocktail. The nice thing is that the bartender will come to you to place your drink/food orders. Now for we are really here for.. the drinks! Typically, we order their old fashions. I mean.. you are in WHISKEY neat right. I recommend the "Jack Armstrong" because it is STRONG with it's 100 Proof Rye but it's also tasty and made to perfection. That's also my husbands go-to drink. I've also tried the "Dark Side of the Moon" - recommend if you enjoy a more smokey taste to your old fashion. Many of my friends enjoy this old-fashion. Also the "Up All Night" - I can't hype this old fashion enough. It's a good one to end your night with since it has bourbon, cold brew, and cold brew liqueur. It was SO darn good, I'm not sure if I prefer this over an expresso martini. Even though whiskey-neat looks like it's only a bar, you can order food as well as QuarterDeck is right next door and it seems QuarterDeck is affiliated with Whiskey Neat or it's an extension. Food items are more like where you would find in a a sports bar. We like to order as an appetizer the Smoked Mahi Dip and the Mahi finger dippers. You can never go wrong with neither of the two. And I recently ordered for dinner the Mahi Franchise and it was SO worth it! The portion of the Mahi was huge and it was cooked perfectly and juicy. It was on top of a bed of spaghetti and had a side of steamed broccoli. I loved it so much I know I will order it again in the future. Love coming to Whiskey Neat, it's a much try if you are in the area!

Low key spot with chill vibes. It's located right next door to Quarterdeck. It's actually connected to Quarterdeck with a door/passageway on the inside. The spot is cozy with dim lighting and comfortable seating. They have a couple large screen TVs behind the bar and cool tunes playing. The service was friendly. Whiskey Neat is a cocktail bar but they serve/offer food from the Quarterdeck menu. Craft Cocktails: Pink Lady & Fall'n for You (both absolutely delightful) Food: Seasoned medium Buffalo wings (juicy & delicious) and medium Buffalo fried shrimp (plump & perfectly cooked) The evening was enjoyable from start to finish.

Came here for happy hour with the guys and was very pleased with the overall experience . Got here on a Wednesday and turns out on Wednesday all whiskeys are half off - so had a ball with that . Great food , great selection , and great service !!! Will be back !

I've never heard of this place and it was recommended to try out since I was in the area. As you can guess by the name they have all things whiskey. It felt like a speakeasy. I ordered an old fashioned -- Dark Side of the Moon. I switched out the whiskey for one of my liking and it was perfect. I ordered a second drink of a whiskey sour and it was just okay. I think this was due to another bartender making my drink. There wasn't many food options for me to pick from so I settled on the Steamers 3 dozen (steamed clams). This seemed like more empty clam shells than actually clams and it's more of an appetizer than it is an entree which it is listed as. I would return here just for the drinks.

Not a speakeasy. Has a main door. Not really hidden. It's a very simple bar inside Quaterdeck. Food was very average. Waiter was not friendly. Not a big variety of whiskey. At least the things that we asked for in the menu, they didn't have. There is a very strong bathroom smell throughout the bar, very very strong. Will not go back.

Love this place! We go here often as it's open late at night and they have excellent cocktails and service! Kenny and Jackie are great. Always friendly and they make great drinks, you can tell they love their work. As for the cocktails and bourbon/whiskey selections, you will not find a better selection. Their Jack D Armstrong old fashioned is crafted to perfection with a smoked glass and all. My wife loves the Chai Me Up complete with egg whites to give it that silky smooth finish. If you looking for a fun place out in west Broward with expertly crafted cocktails and an extensive bourbon selection this is the spot!

Very cool trendy bar located on Sunrise Blvd. in Plantation, FL. It just opened recently so it wasn't overcrowded when we went. As soon as you enter, the decor captures your full attention. Pretty reds with fireplace images on the large TV's. Beautiful bar area and the seating area decor was calming but vibrant. Great ambiance. The service was great. Friendly, helpful and we were taken care of right away. I ordered the Dark Side Of The Moon Old Fashioned ..... ahhhh yeah get this drink! Yum. They are located right beside Quarterdeck (same owners) so their food menu is from Quarterdeck. Nice plus. I'll def be back again.

If you are into old fashions, this is the place to go. Visited this location many times, whether it's to hang out with friends or as a date-night and it's always a great experience. My wife loves coming to this location because of the "romantic aesthetic" Whiskey Neat provides. It's dimly lit with a large bar area, table seating, and they also have a section that has a large couch with side chairs that you can relax and enjoy. They have a selection of their signature old fashions (about 5 of them) but my go to is the Jack Armstrong old fashion - it is perfectly made with Old Forestor 100 Proof Rye. Never disappoints! Conveniently, you can also order food - food comes from the next door restaurant, QuarterDeck. My wife and I love their Smoked Mahi Dip as an appetizer and it's a good portion. We will definitely be visiting again soon.

For anyone that has been to both locations in Fort Lauderdale and Plantation, is one location preferred over the other?

The one on ft Laud is open air courtyard. But the one in Plantation is retro 40's style with red lighting, very cool. So two totally different decors.

The ambiance was pleasant, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming. That said, it felt like the restaurant was a bit understaffed for the evening. It seemed like there was only one waitress handling the entire dining room, which did cause some delays in service at times. Overall, my party was fairly happy with the experience. My chicken fajitas were very well prepared and packed with great flavor. Unfortunately, my spouse's ribeye was a bit underwhelming--the marbling was excessive, which affected the overall quality. On a positive note, the margaritas were well made and enjoyable. I'm giving it a solid rating because I'd love to see a small business like this succeed, but in all honesty, it felt closer to a 3.5-star experience.

The decor remains a win. Bright, festive, and exactly what you want from a neighborhood Mexican spot. Our server was friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant -- no complaints there. The food, though... felt like an off day. It took quite a while to arrive, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. And when it did hit the table, it was lukewarm. Not cold, not terrible -- just not what you hope for when you're excited and hungry. We ate it without making a fuss (we're not "send it back three times" people), but it definitely didn't match the quality of our first visit. The flavors weren't popping the way I remembered. That said -- here's where I land. Every restaurant has an off day. Kitchens get slammed, timing gets off, things happen. My first experience was strong enough that I'm willing to chalk this up to one of those days. I believe in second chances. I believe in supporting local businesses. And I'll be back -- because when they're on, they're good. Consider this a hopeful 3.5-to-4 star mindset with optimism for round three.

When we got there the hostess immediately asked us if we're one of the "late ones" that hasn't shown up yet. We showed her the email that states to come whenever yet she still argued it with us that it starts at 7:30. Also, the email states that you have to pay a $20 fee per person if you don't order food....yet they never mention that you have to order $20 worth of food PER PERSON. On top of that, there's a lovely $8 fee if you share your meal. Food portion was tiny and my shrimp meal had plastic in it. When I mentioned this to the waitress, the chef came out and argued that it was shell, to which I physically picked up the plastic and stretched it to show it was definitely not a shell. At the end of the meal we received our check and were informed that there is a "service fee" AKA the waitress added her own tip onto our check (she physically wrote in the tip on the check and even wrote the total). We were never informed about any service fee until the end of the meal. Extremely disappointed. Will not be going back.

I've been writing restaurant reviews for years all over the U.S. Mostly restaurants because let's…read morebe honest... food is my love language. Good food and good service can heal emotional damage, lower blood pressure, and probably save marriages. So after seeing Negroni sitting there in Weston Town Center looking all fancy and mysterious for what feels like 37 years, my wife and I finally decided to go. No kids. No responsibilities. Just two tired adults escaping life for a couple hours. We walk in and immediately the place looked beautiful. Nice aesthetics, trendy vibe, dim lights, everybody dressed like they either own crypto or sell real estate in Brickell. I said okay this place got potential. Then the hostess sat me at the smallest table known to mankind. Ladies and gentlemen... I am 6'2. This table was built for borrowers from The Borrowers movie. My knees were touching the wall, the chair, the table, and possibly another dimension. I felt like I was serving detention for crimes I didn't commit. At one point I think my rib cage made eye contact with the candle. But I stayed positive because sometimes suffering leads to greatness. Jesus carried the cross. I carried cramped legs. I ordered the 14 oz ribeye medium well. The steak came out with three sauces like they were presenting evidence in court. This one is chimichurri. This one is peppercorn. This one is liquid mortgage payment. The steak itself was good. Tender, soft cut, flavorful enough... but not $110 dinner and hidden fees flavorful. For that price I expected the cow to personally walk out, thank me for my service, and salute my family. My wife ordered the pork belly bao and honestly that thing slapped harder than my grandmother's flip flop in 1997. Very good. Then my genius self decided to order sushi at a steakhouse. Because apparently I enjoy making questionable life decisions. The sushi roll had a little spice to it, and it was decent, but halfway through eating it I realized this is exactly how people end up in documentaries. Now let's discuss the music. WHY WAS THE MUSIC SO LOUD?! I wasn't eating dinner I was fighting for survival at Ultra Music Festival. I tried talking to my wife: BABE HOW'S YOUR FOOD?! She screamed back: WHY ARE YOU MAD AT ME?! The couple next to us probably thought we were renewing divorce papers. Every time the bass dropped my soda moved across the table by itself like a paranormal activity scene. And the waitress bless her heart she moved around the restaurant like she was late for a flight at Fort Lauderdale airport. Need anything? What are you drinking? Here's your food. Ma'a slow down. Build a relationship. Tell me Something. I felt like I was ordering dinner from one of my cousins during a family reunion: Aight here damn. Then came the bill. $110. For a steak. A sushi roll. Bao buns. Two sodas. And a random service fee that appeared out of nowhere like an unexpected tax from the Roman Empire. I asked myself: What exactly are we servicing here besides my financial decline? Overall, the place is beautiful, the food is decent, and if you enjoy dining inside what sounds like a Fast & Furious nightclub while folded into a child-sized table this is your place. Would I come back? Probably not. But will I remember it? Absolutely. Mostly because my knees are still recovering.

I went for weekend brunch, I haven't seen too much info on what they offer so I hope this is…read morehelpful to people. There seemed to be only one server, but plenty of staff (busser, hostess, etc.) So sometimes service got slow, and others it was pretty quick. Everyone was nice, but at one point I did have to ask them to bring out more plates and tortilla shells after no one had noticed for 5-6 minutes (which they then did promptly). When we got there the hostess told us it was brunch only, so if you're wanting to go on a weekend during brunch time I guess you can't order off the regular menu (fine with us, we were there to try brunch). There were a lot of options packed into a small space. It looks deceivingly small. They have a small carving station with flap meat, grilled chicken, and chorizo. They have the size of flap meat down perfectly- when it comes out, you will only wait for a person or two in front of you at most, it runs out in about 15 minutes, and then they're getting a fresh piece. Cycled often. Flap meat was a little chewy, could be improved if they cut up two thin slices instead of one thick one. I enjoyed it. The sushi area had two mixed rolls per container (I wish they weren't, I would have eaten a few more if I could grab one with just shrimp tempura), corvina ceviche (very good), and tuna tar tar (in a great soy sauce mixture). It also had soy sauce, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. They also had some typical breakfast offerings- scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages; salad options; pastries (different types of croissants, dinner rolls); huge balls of mozzarella; gyoza; ravioli in a vodka sauce (I think); sweet-and-sour pork; olive skewers; caprese skewers; baby back ribs; marinated mushrooms; pizza (cheese and pepperoni, small bites so you won't fill up and can try a little of everything); salmon toast with cream cheese; and probably my favorite, a little taco corner. The taco corner had both grilled chicken and al pastor. The al pastor had a very slight spicy kick to it, no pineapple; it was fine, but I preferred the grilled chicken. The onions and cilantro were mixed already, which I think was great but could be off-putting to someone who has that soap-cilantro-taste gene. I almost didn't notice the dessert station, but when I saw someone with chocolate strawberries- I found it! They have a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows, and some small bites that included a cookie with a sort of dulce de leche filling, a chocolate ganache pastry, and little cheesecake bites. The restaurant is small and maybe a bit too dark for daytime. The layout was sometimes hard to manage. The main table ran along the main bar but was lower, and then additional things (like the pastries) were stacked along the actual bar which made it kind of a nuisance to reach over everything for (but to be fair, I'm short). If anyone was standing at the carving station, you couldn't get to the sushi table until they moved. The dessert station being out of the way was fine, but if you go you will miss it if you don't look for it (it's by the small bar behind the hostess stand). I can't give half stars, and I was really thinking that this is a 3.5 star experience, but I went with 3 because of the fees. They add a 2.8% fee for the staff (I don't remember what they called it) and an automatic 18% gratuity. (I'm sure this is listed on the menu, but you only get a drink menu for brunch). I usually tip 20-25% anyway, so i can't really explain why this irked me so much, and it wasn't really the gratuity that bothered me (though if service had been bad I guess it would have), but the 2.8% annoyed me. It's been years since I've worked in restaurants, and I'm pretty sure everyone is making minimum wage or close to it, and I know the servers have to tip out other staff, so I guess i just feel like that fee is something the restaurant should be factoring in as a cost of business. I don't think anyone would bat an eye if brunch was $36-37 vs $35. To add it on as an additional fee seems disingenuous. Ultimately for 2 brunches ($35 each) and 2 palomas (I think $16 each), our tab came to $128 (taxes, fee, gratuity). I think this is a one-and-done for me. Most of the food was fine, but it was just okay. If I had a friend that wanted to try it, I'd go back but wouldn't search it out myself.
