The vibes here are great! I went here with a friend on a sunny day so we got to sit on the patio. Several people were there on their birthdays and the staff came out with the whole obnoxious birthday song and the birthday people loved it. In general service was pretty slow so be prepared to be patient. The food was average...I got the birria tacos with rice and beans. It was lacking seasoning but all the basic components were there. My friend's food looked really good tho. She got the fajita tacos. I also ordered a sangria which was pretty good. So pretty much come here for vibes and drinks and food to soak up the drinks. Went for a family birthday. There were about 40 of us, all ages. I'm just reviewing what went on in my corner of the They were very generous with the chips and salsa. Super fresh! Drinks- I took forever to order my drink, ending up with a pineapple margarita with chunks of fresh pineapple in a large glass. Pina Colada's come in a pineapple. Be aware the margarita flights are in actual glasses. You get 3 full sized A bit much at 2pm. I ordered shrimp and chicken chimichangas My daughter ordered chicken and shrimp fajitas. My food was good, though a bit heavy. The veggies with the fajitas included broccoli and zucchini were seasoned perfectly. The weird thing is someone ordered veggie fajitas which didn't have as many vegetables as my daughter's. We were in a tent so I really didn't see the restaurant. It seemed as if everyone was really enjoying themselves. Here's a tip. If you're with a large group - everyone paying together should order at the same time so your charges show up together. Or you could spend 30 minutes breaking down a bill that's 2 feet long. Just saying ‍ We enjoyed ourselves. I doubt I'd go again. We really enjoyed Amigos. Heard great things about it, took the drive and left satisfied. Customer service was great. I have slowly become a fan of guacamole, and their's didn't disappoint. Loved the chips and salsa. For the street tacos you can choose which ones, basically a mix and match, I select two different types of shrimp, while both were good I like one more than the other - but sadly I can't remember what they were called. I have only gotten take out here. But the restaurant appears very busy on the weekends. Very loud salsa music playing inside gives festive vibes. I have tried calling in orders both times. Someone will pick up and take my order and both times have not put in the order or taken my name. Kind of frustrating. Food was good. But there are better places in the area. We sat in the bar area which was pretty busy and ordered off of the happy hour menu guacamole, queso, a shrimp taco, steak tacos, and a chicken quesadilla. Our waiter was friendly and quick. We didn't care for the cheese in the queso or the quesadilla. We set those back. We enjoyed the steak tacos. Wonderful atmosphere with great music playing and big screens televisions at every angle of the restaurant. First visit this restaurant came highly recommended by my bff!! I had a chance to check out this restaurant and sat outside at the bar because it was a beautiful day. The service wasn't the greatest the bartender seems as if we were more of an annoyance than customers and what made me really mad is that I asked for a espresso martini and when I got my glass it was missing a few ounces of the drink when I looked up the manager was drinking part of the drink the bartender made for me. He had the nerve to taste it and tell me it was good. If he wanted to taste it make him one dont take some of the customers drink. My actual server was very good and the food was great. The street corn was outstanding and the tacos were extremely well prepared and tasted great. The reason for the three stars was the bartenders bad customers service. He didn't greet us and when we asked him for anything he never acknowledged us he just turned and told the server plus he took some of my drink that I paid full price for and gave it to the manager thats absolutely a no no and terrible at that. Spontaneously wanted to eat dinner out on a Saturday night... it should've come as no surprise that it was going to be really crowded LOL. I decided to go in, it was loud as I expected. When I got seated at a high table, it wasn't long before someone came to take orders and such. I just drank water, and they had three menus: food, drinks, and special plates. I should've taken a picture of the menu, but I thought it'd be here for a reference, but the descriptions of the special plates sounded like a LOT of food. I asked the staff if it was too much for one person and they assured me it would be alright. I ordered what I think was named the Platos Frito, which was the only one that didn't have red meat on it (I wasn't in the mood). It was of fried seafood and some shellfish. Just refer to my pic -- it was INSANE!!! There was no way I could finish that on my own. Snapper, oysters, mussels, shrimp, bacon/cheese-wrapped shrimp, loaded calamari... I wasn't ready!!! This was easily split into 3 meals. And did I enjoy it? ABSOLUTELY! Next time I'm going to try things like their tacos & quesadillas. We had the Barria Tacos (a little greasy) and Roberta Special (Shrimp, Scallops, Fish, rice, and fresh veggies). To drink we had the Casimigos flight and Cadillac Margarita. Everyone raved about how good their food was. I ordered the Fajita Molcajete. I was taken aback by the portion. It was huge and could easily serve 3 people. Had a wonderful dinner experience at Amigos with my family for my mom's birthday! Nice ambience, superb customer service and delicious food and drinks. Nicole was our server, she was friendly and attentive. My favorite the "Tres Leches cake" was one of the best! I visited Amigos Mexican Grill in Laurel, Maryland, with high expectations for my niece's birthday celebration, and while the evening took an unexpected turn, the efforts of the manager and staff deserve recognition. Our server, who was attentive and accommodating, handled the initial phase of our evening flawlessly, taking our drink and appetizer orders without a hitch. However, when it came to placing our dinner orders, chaos ensued. The dishes arrived in a disarray, wrong orders, several missing items, and a black piece of plastic in our guacamole. The mix-ups were numerous, and it seemed like our table was caught in a whirlwind of confusion. It took almost 35 minutes for the correct orders to reach our table, and even then, my daughter's meal was still incorrect, and my son, who ordered a steak burrito began eating his food only to realize it was shrimp, which he is allergic to. I also didn't appreciate being asked to prove that the orders were wrong before the manager got there, we were brought a plain ground beef taco on a plate for the kids meal, which was supposed to be chicken, with beans and rice on the side. Also, my Fajita Molcajete that was supposed to have shrimp. We came to find out that they were bringing us food that was meant for another table, and we had just been taking the items that we had in common. They would bring 3 dishes and if we had ordered something they had they'd give it to us, and the rest would go back, This happened multiple times. Including my Fajita molcajete which came without shrimp at the request of the person who had ordered it from the other table. Despite the string of mishaps, the manager stepped in with genuine concern and a commitment to make things right. Part of our bill was comp'd, and a gift card was offered for a future visit. The manager's hands-on approach, along with his humorous acknowledgment of our "cursed" table, helped ease the tension. It's worth noting that the overall ambiance of the restaurant was impressive, with live entertainment, an MC, and even a conga line, creating a lively and fun atmosphere. However, it was apparent that the grand opening rush may have overwhelmed the kitchen staff. While the manager's efforts were commendable, the oversight of forgetting to sing happy birthday to my niece left me feeling some type of way. Despite multiple mentions and it being booked as a birthday celebration, this crucial detail was missed, overshadowing what could have been the perfect ending to the hectic evening, even with all the confusion. Amigos Mexican Grill shows a lot of promise, with dedicated management and a vibrant atmosphere. However, I will be giving them some time to iron out the operational kinks before I come back for another visit. Amigos is the latest addition to the Mexican restaurants in Laurel. Open entering for a weekend lunch, our party was seated immediately and our waiter came to take our drinks order. The issue however was that we did not get waters or the standard chips and salsa brought to our table until well passed our entrees arrived. We reminded multiple waiters who passed by our table it got frustrating to see other people who arrived after us be served chips and salsa immediately after being seated. It seemed for whatever reason our table was forgotten because everyone else got prompt service. The food came out pretty fast and had very generous portions. They did not skimp on the meat in any of the dishes and I will be grateful for that. The birria tacos were good but lacked the seasoning and flavor that other taquerias in the area have. The quesadilla as I mentioned before had a very generous serving of steak and was a no frills basic quesadilla. The taco salad had a huge portion of steak and chicken that filled me up quite fast. Dinner for 2 and we each had 2 drinks was slightly over $300!!! The specials are now $60 plus per person. My elote apparently had a spicy sauce on it (which I believe was the red sauce) but I definitely think it could have been spicier. The guac tasted fresh but definitely needed some seasoning. The carne carne asada was flavorful but depending on your salt threshold, it could come off as a tad bit salty to you. The piña colada was delicious but could have been stronger. It kind of tasted like there was not alcohol in it, so it could have used a little more rum. The service was good and my waitress seemed really nice!
