The food here was good. The rice was good, the beans were barely ok. I think they are canned. We ordered elite, and the elite had great flavor but it was super drenched in mayo. The carne asada was good and so were the flautas. To be honest I enjoyed it but I have had the same entres that were much better and for less money. It's not a huge disparity between costs but it's hard not to notice when the quality isn't the same. The server was great; super friendly and checked in us a lot. The restaurant is a humble place in a strip mall. It does have a Mexican vibe with all of the decorations. They weren't very busy so having tables that weren't cleaned was not a good look. I'm not sure we will visit again but if we do, I'll know we will have a good meal. Don't let this review keep you from giving them a try. Let me know what you think. read more

The ppl in there are so nice, I believe it's all family. The place is always clean and staff always friendly. So far everything we have had to eat has been really good. Been here twice. Nicer now without the ChooChoo mess. Clean, polite, and empty. It was very cold out. Also noticed quite a bit of pickup orders. Ordered several dinners. Beans and rice above average and all rest was very good. Only chicken enchiladas were lacking some flavor in my opinion. Bit pricey, but not crazy. Will be back as it beats many in the area. I found a hidden diamond in Mokena but it is CASH only. I had a taste for tacos and this restaurant had over 4 stars on Yelp. I placed an order to go for their taco dinner and one tostada. The taco dinner came with three tacos, rice and beans. I selected the steak beef and chicken taco. They were seasoned well, fresh, tender and topped with your choice of, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and avocado. My favorite was the chicken taco seasoned to perfection and juicy. The Tostado was layered extremely well with season refried beans, beef, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes. The food came out fast and piping hot! Their sauces, the red, and the green sauce was perfect and not too overpowering on the food . What stood out to me was the customer service they were inviting, pleasant and hospitable. They have a very large dining area, which had a Mexican vibe because of the tablecloth and decorations on the wall. They don't have a bar, but I will be back for the dine in experience! Wowza! We found this place almost by accident today- every other Mexican place in Frankfort was closed so we tried Amigos. I have to say- it's the best in town. It's authentic, the beans are amazing. Steak tacos are the real deal, and my wife said the ground beed was excellent too. I'm glad we found this place- it's going to be our go-to going forward now. On one of the rare sunny days we have had in the last three weeks, I needed to get out of the house and my meandering found me in Frankfort. I found Amigos because of Yelp, and Mexican is maybe my favorite cuisine so it was an easy choice. They are a cash-only establishment, which is clear to see and honestly I'm curious who missed the signage and then complained. We were even told when we came in that it was cash-only to confirm that would be ok. They do have an ATM in the restaurant in case you don't have cash on hand. The food was good as was the service. I got the chicken sopes dinner, hopes being my favorite; my partner got the chicken fajitas. Both were good--the chicken was excellent. The fajitas had broccoli as one of the ingredients which I don't think I've seen in other restaurants before. The sauces on the table were ok; I preferred the green to the red, because although the red was the spicy one it really didn't have that much heat to it. The salsa that came with the chips, however, had more heat and was really good. That's always my problem at restaurants with good salsa; I can eat chips and salsa forever, forget my dinner. Portions were good; I ate a bitt less than a sope and a half before I needed to hang it up. It's a family place; the servers were mother and daughter. The workers were extremely friendly and welcoming. The service was definitely excellent. I ordered a steak burrito dinner with double rice. Unfortunately, the steak was not seasoned at all and reminded me of ground beef. I really did not like it. My fiancé ordered that chorizo burrito dinner and he was not a big fan of his either. Everything just tasted very bland, which was surprising, because I heard really good things about this place . He loved the horchata though. The salsa was super fresh with a nice bite. I ordered the sopes - one steak and one Al pastor. The sope itself was delicious as were the toppings. The steak was good but the Al pastor was just okay. I wouldn't order that particular meat again but would certainly try something else in the sopes because they had great flavor and texture. The rice and beans were also stellar. We have FINALLY found our place. Our place to get authentic, delicious, fresh Mexican food. We have legitimately tried every single Mexican restaurant in the Frankfort area and none have stood out...until Amigos. We've ordered a variety of items - from your classic steak tacos to sopas, flautas, quesadillas, homemade guacamole and more. Every single item has been delicious. Even their cheese quesadillas have more flavor than you could imagine. But, my most favorite part? The fact that every time they've taken my order over the phone, no matter who I get, they call me "honey". Properly trimmed steak, and not one of the dozen burritos I've eaten contained even the smallest bit of gristle.
