    Taco dinner

Eh, it's decent, pero la carne un poco dura. I hate to say it, but the tacos aren't worth what we paid. The asada was tough, and the chorizo was so mushy. Why was it mushy!? Chips and salsa were good, I enjoyed those. The rice was good. I'm indifferent about the beans, they tasted like canned refried beans, which I love, but wasn't expecting. I'll come back again to try a different dish, but if you're just looking for tacos, this one isn't it ): I gave it three stars because the quality wasn't there, but everything else was. The waitress and host were very kind and the service was fast. And the restaurant was decorated for Valentine's Day! Oh, and they have a full bar!

Camino Viejo is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Frankfort! My family and I have been coming here for years, the food is delicious, the staff is so kind, and prices are so reasonable. The best part is that it's family owned. They always make it so special for the holidays and the ambience is festive and well kept.

Camino Viejo, ok now What a little hidden gem! The great hospitality from the moment we walked in the door, the service, and presentation of our meals were all 5 stars!!! It was a chilly day out, so I decided to try the Tortilla Soup, this was a great choice as the soup was packed with flavor, shredded chicken cheese and Tortilla strips. We were served warm chips and a mildly spicy salsa. We ordered 2 Margaritas ( Strawberry and Mango) they were mixed just right, and a good sized serving. We both ordered Fajitas with steak, I also added shrimp, the steak was seasoned but not to the point of being over seasoned. The dinner includes the sour cream, Quacamole, Refried Beans and Rice. We had a good portion to take home, although you only get 4 street taco sized Corn Tortillas with the meal. Going to Emagine to see a movie, leave early and have Dinner at Camino Viejo , you will hands down enjoy the meal !!!!

Food was terrible. Carne asada smelled rotten. Guac had a weird taste. Overall, not a good experience.

Wonderfully seasoned, stuffed generously, and priced in a way that makes you feel like you are getting away with something. This is the kind of burrito that makes you reconsider every burrito you have had before it. The horchata was so good I was guzzling it like my life depended on it. Cold, creamy, perfectly spiced. And the choco flan was my personal highlight of the meal. Rich, silky, and deeply satisfying in that way only a great flan can be. We visited on the Fourth of July, and despite some visible storm damage the team was actively working to repair, the restaurant had a steady and loyal stream of locals coming through without pause. That says everything. Frankfort knows what it has here. The decor is cute and the family owned warmth comes through in every interaction. You can feel the care and pride in this place from the moment you walk in. A gem hiding in plain sight. We completely understand why the locals love it.

The carne asada was good and so were the flautas. To be honest I enjoyed it but I have had the same entres that were much better and for less money. It's not a huge disparity between costs but it's hard not to notice when the quality isn't the same. The server was great; super friendly and checked in us a lot. The restaurant is a humble place in a strip mall. It does have a Mexican vibe with all of the decorations. They weren't very busy so having tables that weren't cleaned was not a good look. I'm not sure we will visit again but if we do, I'll know we will have a good meal. Don't let this review keep you from giving them a try. Let me know what you think.

I ordered the MARY TIERRA FOR TWO which consisted of the Grilled seasoned salmon, garlic shrimp & skirt steak. Served with Mexican rice, charro beans & guac! Literally everything was tasty and filling! Kid had the typical kiddo meal; chicken tenders & fries! Which by the way was pretty decent size for the kiddo! She loved her tenders also.
