It was really good. The place was SO clean it was the only thing I could focus on until our food came If you know the place and bathroom are that clean they don't play in the kitchen. It was busy and everyone had margaritas. I was rushing waiting for the dog groomer so I didn't get to enjoy any drinks but I'll have to go back and try it! I got the steak tacos, daughter got kids chicken quesadilla, & bf got pastor tacos. His were so juicy and flavorful. My daughter liked hers. I also requested extra protein since the restaurant allowed special instructions and stated there could be an additional charge per request. First time here. The food and drinks were decent but nothing special, and the pricing seemed fair. However, the service was extremely slow and just not good. This was while the place was at least half empty with more than adequate wait staff present. We were never given water, and we had to ask twice for our hot salsa even after our cup of mild salsa was obviously completely empty. We ordered appetizers and 20 minutes later the waitress came back and asked if she had brought us our appetizers. It was was obvious there were no signs of any appetizers ever having been on the table. Our waitress was not very good at her job or maybe just having an extremely bad day. Every time we asked for something she said she would "be right back with that" or "be back in two seconds" and then would not come back for 15 minutes. We can only assume she was inexperienced. We still tipped over 20% because that's how we roll, but we probably would not return as it is far from home and not a great experience. We just happened to be in the area today. Still one of our go-to Mexican restaurants. Service is very good. Family owned. Food comes rather quickly and is very tasty. Have new menus which are able to see what is available. Camino Viejo, ok now What a little hidden gem! The great hospitality from the moment we walked in the door, the service, and presentation of our meals were all 5 stars!!! It was a chilly day out, so I decided to try the Tortilla Soup, this was a great choice as the soup was packed with flavor, shredded chicken cheese and Tortilla strips. We were served warm chips and a mildly spicy salsa. We ordered 2 Margaritas ( Strawberry and Mango) they were mixed just right, and a good sized serving. We both ordered Fajitas with steak, I also added shrimp, the steak was seasoned but not to the point of being over seasoned. The dinner includes the sour cream, Quacamole, Refried Beans and Rice. We had a good portion to take home, although you only get 4 street taco sized Corn Tortillas with the meal. Going to Emagine to see a movie, leave early and have Dinner at Camino Viejo , you will hands down enjoy the meal !!!! read more

The color of it was off and it had no flavor other than lime. We had tacos and they were bland. The rice and beans were very good. The margaritas were watery tasting. The size of their burritos and the meat they use a better arrachera a.k.a. skirt steak

Had previously eaten here a few times in recent weeks and enjoyed the food but yesterday had a horrible experience. We ordered 3 fajita meals and a skirt steak meal. The skirt steak smelled rancid and tasted foul. when I notified the manger he insisted it was fine and "sometimes the blood just smells different" but refused to taste it. I asked him to replace it with a fajita meal since the meat in those orders was fine but he refused stating it was the same meat. He finally agreed to refund the charge but that left one person without a meal but suffering stomach pain and nausea from the spoiled skirt steak partially consumed. The waitress was extremely apologetic but the manager was rude and combative. They lost our business and we are no longer recommending anyone try this restaurant due to this experience. read more

Awesome food, environment and service. Love that this is a smaller place that not everyone knows about. I come here all the time and love it. My only complaint is that the prices seem to go up every few months... I used to come here and get a great meal and leave spending a fair price for my food so that helped me tip well.. a dish that I was paying 18.99 for is now 28.99.. I still tip well, but I have cut back on what I order now since the prices keep going up. I understand everything has gone up.. but now i spend a lot more and get less.. it is what it is, the business has to stay afloat so prices need to go up. The menu has many interesting dishes that you don't find at the local taco restaurants. Pricing is average. Entree around $22.00. The chips and salsa served at beginning were ok. We have a hidden gem in Frankfort/Mokena! Authentic Mexican food with an upscale atmosphere and if your for dining outside due to the pandemic they have a beautiful patio! Everything about this place is memorable from the well seasoned food to the fresh vibe. I ordered the chicken fajitas and I sampled their tacos one beef one chicken and one shrimp. The flavors were popping in my mouth and you get a good ratio of meat to tortilla. This restaurant checks off all the right boxes! Delicious flavors, great atmosphere and cleanliness. The restaurant was completely empty when we arrived so we were seated immediately. There was only one employee working the dining room so she ended up being our waitess. We both ordered the taco lunch special. It came with two tacos, rice and beans. I ordered the steak (Carne Asada) and my sister ordered the beef. (Piccadillo) We liked the seasoned beef better than the steak, but the food was pretty good. We also ordered Coke's initially, but sent them back because they weren't good. I ended up getting lemonade instead and my sister asked for water. They served chips and salsa before our food came out, but we didn't care much for the salsa. The food arrived less than 15 minutes after we ordered. They prepared it extremely fast. The bill was about $20 which is extremely reasonable for lunch. We'll be repeat customers for sure. read more

On Sunday and Thursday house margaritas are half price . Egg platters are available from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM . Plenty of different import beer and wine to choose from . Staff was very attentive and had a high priority of cleanliness and neatness . Place mats and chairs immediately set right as people left . A choice of four or five desserts . I stopped here for a quick to-go dinner for myself. The ambience is fairly standard for a Mexican restaurant. I really enjoyed the steak tacos with cilantro and onion. The steak was tender and not gummy or hard to chew, which tells me that they used high-quality meat and knew how to prepare it well. I also enjoyed my ground beef tacos and corn tortillas. However, I didn't enjoy the queso fundido. I expected it to be more like a queso dip, but it was cheese that was melted yet still sort of solid, which made it difficult to enjoy even though the flavors were there. The servers were nice and quick; it didn't take long at all for my food to be ready for pick-up. Overall, it's probably one of the better Mexican restaurants in this area. I had 2 different tacos and both were moist and piled high with meat and toppings. I especially like their salsa. We came for lunch but plan to be back for dinner and a few drinks. Covid measures are in force. Masks for staff and socially distanced tables. The also have outdoor seating. Inside the restaurant was very clean also. Someone reviewed that the water here was bad. This place used to be great. This time, no. There was only 2 other tables and it took a long time for the waitress to even address us. We then ordered and not a whole lot because it was too expensive. The entrees are priced way too high. I realize many restaurants had to up their prices, but this is a little too much for rice/beans added to an entree. The tacos are priced just right so we ordered a few of those and an order of guacamole. The meat in the tacos was not seasoned very well and the salsa barely had any cilantro.
