Empanadas - Got the Super Empanada meal with chicken, beef, and fajita empanadas and chips. Portion of chips were small, but the empanadas were cooked well. High quality beef but could have used a bit of seasoning. Chicken and fajita empanadas had plenty of flavor. Jalapeño Poppers - Cream Cheese filled. Filled with cheese, but could have been cooked a bit more. Loco Fries - Could use a bit more chorizo meat as they felt like bacon cheese fries. Chicken Enchiladas - Spicy and huge portions. Whoa. Inflation is one thing, what Amigos is doing is another. Since last visit, the prices here have SKYROCKETED! In one instance, the price between the old empanada special and the new empanada special is over FIVE DOLLARS! These aren't slight, "...due to the rising cost of goods..." increases, these are, Disney-esque, show me the money increases. To raise a menu item FIVE DOLLARS is insane. That's a FIFTY EIGHT PERCENT INCREASE!!! The food is still good, and they still give you an ample portion, but it is ABSOLUTELY no longer a bargain. Definitely going to be cutting WAY back on Amigos in light of this. Shame. read more

I've ordered from Amigos on more than a few occasions. The staff in Amigos is always so friendly and helpful and the wait time is never that long. The stars of the show are really the empanadas. They have all sorts of empanadas you can order including beef, beef and cheese, chicken, chicken and cheese and chicken teriyaki. I have never had a bad empanada and if you can't finish your empanadas they reheat so well for the next day (especially in an air fryer) The rice, beans, queso, guac, and chips are all great. We called and ordered two trays of empanadas and quesadillas and was told the price would be $240. Seemed high, but in our experience the empanadas are delicious, so I was willing to pay. When we went to pick everything up today we were charged $390. The owner told us he made a mistake when quoting and if we didn't want the food, we could leave it without paying. this was 30 minutes before the start of our event where the food was needed. When questioned how his mistake becomes and additional $150 problem for his customer he had no reply other than "you didn't have to take the food." I've worked in customer service my entire life and could never passing a mistake of mine onto my customer. Absolutely disgraceful. read more

The best empanadas I've ever had! There's definitely a reason why the casual restaurant has sold over 80K empanadas. They offer 12 options. So far my boyfriend and I have tried 5 of them including: chicken and cheese, spicy jerk chicken, hot and spicy beef, chicken teriyaki, and cheese steak. My child took a bite without looking and was disappointed because steak was the preference and listed in the description. Chicken wasn't even a choice! New local Mexi-fusion place in the Oak Valley area that has opened up next door to Vito's Pizza. The menu is posted online, and they deliver. Always a plus to find delivery that's not the usual Italian or Chinese in this part of SJ. They do seem like new business owners, so there may be some kinks to work out. I went the create-your-own route, which is perfect for the picky eaters out there. It was $8.75 for a slow cooked pork and rice bowl. I posted a pic for reference. Everything was pretty tasty. Now it did kinda leave me craving Chipotle but seriously, it was good considering Wenonah's dearth of dining options. They do burritos and bowls and quesadillas etc. The entrees look intriguing and I'll definitely be ordering the chicken dinner for 4 at only 20 bucks sometime. All told, this is a great addition to the area & it's actually really easy to get to on your way from Shoprite. Check it out & show the local business some love! My husband and I decided to try Amigos tonight for dinner, and let me just say it was phenomenal!!! First of all, they make their OWN Tortillas from scratch. Their Empanadas are packed with flavor and are fried to perfection! The Burrito was HUGE and the Chicken Teriyaki Tacos are delicious! The sauce is tangy yet sweet. The slaw top the tacos with give them just the right amount of crunch. Finally, The woman who runs the place is very very friendly. I came in 5 minutes before closing and she did not mind explaining menu items without rushing me. I never yelp restaurants, actually this is my first yelp review ever, but I just felt like I had to write one for Amigos because they are a newer buisiness and totally deserve a good review. I really wanted Amigos to be my new go-to spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. Unfortunately, the jury is still out. I recently moved to Gloucester County and can't quite seem to find good authentic Mexican in the area. I'm spoiled from living close to quite a few places up near Clementon/Lindenwold, a couple of which are hard to beat. This was my second time at Amigos. My first time was in the summer and the food was decent. My husband liked his empanada and I enjoyed all of the different choices for salsa. Other than that, honestly, I don't remember the visit because it was in the middle of our move-in day (returning the U-Haul) and we ate our food in one whole bite. This past Saturday night, the hubby and I were craving authentic Mexican, and with the snow were not in the mood to travel too far. Amigos came up on my Yelp search so we decided we must give it a 2nd go. For $24 we got a chimichanga (super 3 chimi - 3 meats, 3 cheeses), tacos (spice rubbed pork special), and an order of guac and chips. They were all out of chicken jerk empanadas, so we skipped them altogether. Pretty pricey for two meals and a side of guacamole, especially for authentic Mexican. It was an hour wait for pick-up. *stomach growls* My husband liked his chimichanga and was definitely full, which helped ease the burn from the hole in his wallet. My tacos, on the other hand, were not good. I was excited for my corn pineapple salsa. Not sure what kind of sauce/salsa was on my tacos but there were no chunks of corn or pineapple to be found. It wasn't sweet like pineapple salsa usually is either. My pork was dry and I found many hard pieces (ends? crust?) throughout. The "Mexican cheeses" the menu claimed to have on the tacos, were simply sharp cheddar and monterey jack. What happened to some queso fresco? Onions? Cilantro, maybe? I was intrigued when I ordered because the menu said that the tacos had slaw. The slaw was just shredded cabbage and carrots. Dry, from a bag prepackaged bag. I thought it didn't get any less authentic, when I realized the tacos were made with flour (not corn) tortillas. My mistake though when looking back at the menu, it does clearly state that they're made with flour tortillas. As an authentic Mexican eatery, you should definitely give your customers the option to have corn tortillas. The guacamole put my review from a three star to a two star. It had a spicy kick, which I like in my guac, but that's where it ended. It was like avocado paste. It reminded me of the guacamole that I see in the plastic pouches in the grocery store. It was dark in color with no chunks of avocado. The consistency told me that this was not homemade nor made that day. I was very disappointed that I paid extra to have guac and chips. From my picture you can see that it was all chips with two small containers of guacamole. I don't like giving places 2 star reviews and I'm not writing off Amigos, but in my eyes they have a lot of heavy competition in the south Jersey area. For now, I'll stick to my tried and true Mexican spots. read more

I was driving by and thought gee jersey pizza better then PA pizza , so I'm at Amigos neighbor. As I drove up, however amigos just grabbed me it looked, as does a lot around there, real. The inside isn't fancy but they obviously tried hard and it's nice. I had a trisomethings burrito (pork beef and spicy beef I think)with rice and beans on the side. It was good and healthy not slathered with sour cream, sparing portion of cheese and just good fresh real not processed not reheated from the freezer food with a side of black beans over rice I liked it they had some of that juvasious (sp) Mexican soda but not my fave, grapefruit. For like 11 bucks for a burrito and a water it was a decent value and I'd return in a heartbeat read more

We went to here hoping for the best and that's what we got! We ordered an Amigo burrito, queso and the grande enchilada! The queso wasn't the best but the chips were very good. Rice and beans that came with meal was very very good. We are excited to go back to try different things!! The place is a little small but we ordered out and they do deliver which is awesome! However, when I called them to place an order for delivery, they said they were not delivering tonight. So then, I placed an order for pickup and the person who picked up said that this would not be an issue, but when I went to pick up my order, the place was closed! I received no telephone call saying that they were closing. This has been the worst customer service I have ever experienced and I will never go back.
