We decided to try it after purchasing a voucher on Restaurant.com. ( They had no idea about the voucher or how it works), which was cool because their prices are really reasonable. This is a very small quaint establishment with street parking. There are 4 tables and a Big screen tv. There is no private parking, so you may walk a bit to find a park. The food was served hot and was very delicious. This is Authentic Mexican food. They serve you plenty. The service was ok ( we had to get our own menus and ask for things constantly. (Silverware, napkins, beverages, etc). I wouldn't make a special trip to come, but if I'm in the neighborhood I may stop in.

I've come to Las Cabañas a few times now with a large group of people, so I definitely owe it to them to write a review. This restaurant is a little bit away from the main drag of shops and restaurants on Federal Street, sitting across from Dudley Grange Park, but in terms of taste and quality, it ranks right up there with the best. The service is incredibly accommodating and friendly, and the food is always fantastic. I'm a fan of ordering one of the many platillos mexicanos (Mexican platters, basically), which give you a great variety of tastes. Most recently, I got the "Paison", which had three kinds of meat, rice, avocado, and some cheese, which I think is just about the perfect Mexican dinner. Oh, and they have piña coladas that come in a pineapple the size of your head.

Located on the main strip on Haddon Ave, we wound up here quite by accident. When we walked in, and it was funeral parlor empty. The inside is nice, spacious and super clean, but zero customers had us feeling "uh oh." But our server came around the corner and ushered us into an adjoining room, equally as nice, that had a few other patrons dining. Fears alleviated, we sat down and got to ordering. The menu is great, with something from everyone. We got the birria burrito for me, lobster tacos for the Misses, mac and cheese for the Little One, and a side of Sweet Plantains for everyone. FIRST, god lord almighty....them sweet plantains are MAGICAL! They taste like French Toast. OMG......SOOO good. The rest of the food had an extremely high bar to live up to, and it did. Everything was fast, fresh and delicious. Even the price was tolerable. Our server was extremely nice, though I wish he would have written stuff down, as we had to remind him a couple of times about our requests. No biggie. We will, 100% be back, and if it's anything like last time, I have a feeling Paloma will be moving onto the 5-Star list quickly.

I really wanted to like this place based on an extremely high recommendation. Unfortunately, the…read morefood and service didn't quite meet the expecations it was hyped up to be. I vascilated between 3 and 4 stars, so I'll instead provide a breakdown: Menu: 5 stars. The menus are easy to read, detailed, and organized. The menus aren't your standard laminated menus. They have a thick, very pretty, sturdy cover. They provide the prices for different meat options. I appreciate that many menu items can be or are gluten free. Ambience: 5 stars. I am a total sucker for supporting small, privately owned businesses! Bonus points for being immigrant/POC/Black-owned business! The restaurant was small but still with a good amount of wiggle room for dining in. Everything was clean and somewhat modern for what was described to me as "a hole in the wall" (in a good way), as I was expecting it to be a little dated and dingy. It wasn't. It was bright, cool, and airy. Service: 3-stars. service was mid. Our server didn't seem overly-excited to be there. He communicated well, but with very little friendliness or enthusiasm. I'd say, at best, his demeanor was neutral, and I can live with that, considering I've encountered a lot of times where people in the service industry act like they don't appreciate your business and are doing you a favor just by taking your order, smh. Food: 3.5 stars. Presentation was beautiful! Very well-done! Unfortunately, I found my tres moles enchiladas lacking that "pow" in taste that I love about mole. I also love my enchiladas drowned in mole sauce, especially eating with chicken breast, which can be a very mild/bland and dry meat. The chicken itself wasn't necessarily dry, but because it was chicken breast, and the feel of the dish was on the dry side. That being said, my fellow diners LOVED their dishes and said they'd come back again! Unfortunately, they don't provide reviews on Yelp, so I invite you to take my review as a grain of salt and try this restaurant out for yourself.

Mother's Day brunch at Sabrina's Café with my beautiful daughter We made sure to get there early…read morebecause if you know anything about this neighborhood gem, you know they don't take reservations. This wasn't my first time at Sabrina's, so I already knew the service would probably be a little different with the Mother's Day rush -- and understandably so. Overall, the food was still good! We started with their Blueberry Lavender Lemonade, made with blueberry and lavender, then garnished with fresh blueberries and lemon. It was so refreshing and honestly one of my favorite parts of the meal. For our entrées, I ordered the Shrimp & Grits and added salmon, while my daughter got the Teriyaki Salmon Bowl. For appetizers, we tried one of their "Heated Rivalry" May specials: Shane Hollander's Jambalaya Benedict. It came with shredded potato waffles, two poached eggs, fried shrimp, Creole sauce, smoked beef andouille sausage, pico de gallo, and green onions. Now listen... it looked AMAZING on the menu and had so much potential, but the taste was a little underwhelming for me. The dish came out room temperature, almost like it had been sitting for a while, and I really think it would've hit differently if it had been served hot -- especially the potato waffles. Still, I understand they were extremely busy and trying to accommodate everyone during the holiday rush. Sabrina's is definitely still a local favorite that I'll continue to support. Overall rating for this visit: 8/10

My young son really enjoyed this. The fried buttermilk chicken was so on point that we ordered a second one as a side dish. Likewise the buttermilk chicken sandwich was great. I added bacon which was a good call. I would have liked the bacon a bit crispier and I think raw spinach rather than sautéd spinach would have helped the chicken stay crispier. We also order pancakes. The pancakes were super big. I'm talking dinner plate big. Unfortunately the taste did not live up to the big size. The texture was off putting and the flavor was strange. As for ambiance, it can get a bit loud since it is essentially and empty room with only a little decoration. They do have a small outside eating area which was quieter and could be quite nice on a day with comfy temperatures. All in all it was a good experience and we would go back again.
