It seems Pointless to review this too often but it's consistently a five star experience. We come every time we are in Golden for a hike. Service is always spot on. Some newer staff but great service. Chicken shawarma platter with half hummus and half baba s a favorite. The two skewer platter with chicken always makes me happy. Rice. Hummus. Salad. We always start with the falafel which could be a meal in itself. Well done. Crunchy and soft served with tahini or hummus. My favorite thing here. The fresh hot bread or pita is always piping hot out of the oven and more than enough for two. This is really one of the things that separates Amir from other Lebanese or middle eastern restaurants. I married a Lebanese man. Coming from out of state and finding this gem was initially exciting. Service and food were okay. Husband says no, we won't be back. Grape leaves - I like that it wasn't sour. It was a neutral taste. Usually at other places, it tastes sour. Falafel - same thing as grape leaves. Neutral flavor. It was crispy. Hummus - same thing as the rest of the food. It needed some garlic, lemon, and nutty flavor. Turkish Coffee - it's Turkish coffee. They didn't wait for the coffee to cool and the grounds to settle, so a quarter of the cup was filled with mostly coffee grounds. read more

Wow! This place is amazing. I got the Meat Combo which includes lamb, chicken, kafta, salad, hummus, bread, and rice. Each meat was juicy and flavorful- NOT DRY! Even their yogurt dip (maybe shallot yogurt?) had so much depth and flavor. The rice was cooked to perfection and their pita is one of my favorites in Colorado! I wish they included a traditional cucumber salad or grilled tomatoes instead of the salad that is included, but it was still a nice fresh break. I just wish it was not drenched in dressing. Came here because this place is one of my friends favorite. Maybe he hyped it up too much for me? Lentil soup: 2 stars not really what i was expecting. It wasn't flavorful and it was a little too watery for me. The lentils were also blended. Hummus: 3 stars it definitely had this bitter after taste. Consistency was good, it wasn't too thick but I've had better Hummus. Chicken Shawarma plate: 5 stars it definitely hit the spot. The chicken was very tender, everything was well seasoned where one ingredient was more overpowering than the other. Shawarma wasn't greasy like other places. The rice thar came with it was also really fluffy and tasty. The salad tho just seems more like an after thought. I would like to try a different dish next time I visit. Walked in around 3:30, the awkward post-lunch, pre-dinner time. It was fairly empty. Service was very prompt and food came out quickly. I got the Amir platter so I could try a little bit of everything. I was disappointed by the grape leaves to be honest, they were a bit hard and flavorless. The side house salad just had Italian dressing which felt out of place. The meat was well grilled and the hummus and baba was tasty. I also enjoyed the falafel. The highlight of course was the pita which was huge and fun to eat. Plenty of indoor seating and parking since it's in a strip mall. read more

Second visit. First visit, the lamb shanks were tasteless. This time I ordered a takeout Greek salad with chicken. The salad was NOTHING like the photo. The HOT, tiny pieces of chicken were thrown on top of the entire salad, wilting everything. There were NO cucumbers and NO cherry/plum tomatoes. There was ONE paper-thin slice of a regular tomato in the entire salad. Not going to be a third time to try this place. VERY disappointing especially since the salad was almost $20. read more

Nut allergy warning: Of course the baklava has nuts and therefore there is risk of cross contamination, but I was fine with everything we ordered. We were lucky enough to get a table for 12 walking in on a Friday evening. Service was pretty quick, with dishes coming out within 15 minutes of ordering. The value here is incredible! We were able to feed 12 people with two sampler platters, two pizzas, and a few orders of kabobs and extra falafel. Everything was delicious. The kabobs were incredibly tender. Their garlic dip went perfectly with the crispy and soft pita bread. Falafel was still crispy on the outside but perfect inside. As a regular, make sure you check any take out order as they are prone to leaving out items. Also, they are really stingy with the tzatziki, but the 10$ tub they will sell you is lower quality - ask for an extra small one. read more

1.5 years later, I'm finally visiting Amir Grill in-person. WEIRDLY, I kinda like ordering takeout from them more. The menu isn't as comprehensive, though they obviously serve the same things. Everything they serve here tastes fresh. My favorite thing to order is the Lamb Kebab plate. I've never really tried anything else. Although decorations are minimal, it is well kept and there is music playing to produce some intimacy if that's what you are looking for. Otherwise, extremely casual environment. Service was interesting. Not stand offish, but also not attentive. We served ourselves water from a soda machine but were never actually told to do so? Had a fantastic meal at Amir Grill today. Nazir was a great waiter. Amir grill has the best garlic past I've ever had. Same is true for the baba ghanoush. In addition, I have never liked pita bread until coming to Amir Grill. The pita bread is baked fresh and served warm and is to moist! Amazing! Great gem just outside of downtown Golden. The portion sizes are huge, and the food is awesome. We enjoyed the Syrian meat plate for two, but it could have fed 4! The Baba Ghanouj was smokey, the hummus was silky, and the bread was uber fluffy. The lamb kebab was great as well. There was plenty of take-out going on, which we will probably do next time. They have about 15-20 tables, and they were all served by one gentleman. He was hustling around, so things could have probably moved a bit faster. My friend and I needed a place to meet for lunch with vegetarian options. I had not been to Amir Grill before and on this (finally) sunny day, Baba Ghanouj sounded great to me. I was not disappointed! We shared the vegetarian sampler plate that had ample portions of hummus (creamy and delicious), garlic dip (WOW, garlic goodness), baba ghanouj (the best I've had in the area), Syrian green bean salad, grape leaves, falafel (cooked to perfection being crispy on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside), rice and the BEST fresh Pita I've had anywhere in CO. I've gotten pita like this in Chicago and we keep trying to find it so puffy, hot, and delicious here - and all along, it was right down the road from me in Golden . . . in a strip mall type place. We ordered tonight and I was just accused of trying to get free food. I have never been treated so rudely by an establishment. When I told the manager my order was incorrect, he asked me to drive 45 min back to the restaurant to return my food items to get the credit. . (Which was $20 worth of 2 salads the rest of the order was correct) We have ordered here at least 15 times. The one time I said it was wrong and if I could get a credit , he said to "calm down??!" Anyway, I'm assuming new management. He was aggressive and just weird on the phone. I did not get any refund and was told "not my problem". Our last meal here was amazing (as were our delivery orders every other time,) but last nights meal and customer service is something I won't forget. Without going in to all the details, you can rest assured they take care of their customers here! I got the lentil soup to re-try since I love it and don't have it often. Theirs was amazing this time around, a generous portion loaded with black pepper and spices. The veggie sampler is huge, with 3 dips, tons of rice, falafel, dolmas, green beans. Everything tasted incredibly fresh. Their pita bread is the softest and most pillowy I've had in CO yet. We also ordered a veggie pizza which came loaded with toppings and lots of cheese. It was a thin crust and very appetizing! This is a family run restaurant and they have a plethora of options for any diet. This was a disappointment. Unfriendly hostess/server that you could tell she couldn't stand being there. The place was not clean, as you walk in the floors twords the bathrooms the floor was extremely greasy, this means that they have not mopped the floors in a good while. The food was below avarage overly seasoned to mask the lack of feeshenes. Will not repeat. read more
